I got a letter of a past due Uhaul credit charge back for $174.35 This is fraudulent claim as I have not done anything Uhaul for at least 15 years! They are trying to fraudulently gain money from me.Business Response

I was told by this firm that THEY had my license suspended because of an accident my son had. I was no longer in possession of the vehicle due to divorce, and was the sole responsibility of my ex-husband. I was told by ********************* that they were the ones that suspended my license and if I fill out their "Conditional Release form" and make a down payment on the money owed on the claim, that they would send me that form so that I can get my license reinstated. I diligently signed the conditional release form and sent everything they asked right back to them. They sent me back a sideways, half scanned "acceptance" form that was not submitted in its entirety. My state *** didn't accept that form. I asked for the form to be sent over in its entirety, and she sent me a different form, filled out digitally with not enough information on it, that the *** STILL didn't accept. When I sent ********************* an email asking for the original half scanned form to please be sent in its entirety sot that I may go to the *** yet again to give it to them. She called me extremely rude and insisted that I sent her the form that way. Which is a complete lie, I have all the proof of how I sent over the form and how it was sent to me. After all of this, I came to find out by my *** that this organization lied to me when they said that the form would be what I need to get my license out of suspension. The *** pretty much stated that this company lied to me into getting me to sign this form. They tricked me into signing a form of an accident that was totally not my responsibility. I just need to pay my fees directly with the South Carolina *** to get my license reinstated. I tried calling the customer service number to speak to a supervisor and started getting the run around. I need for upper management to give me a call. These people practice in a very dishonest fashion.Business Response

Vengroff Williams has investigated and reviewed the subrogation file based on the claimant's dispute. Please be advised this is not a scam, fraud, or an attempt to harass the claimant. This is not a debt, but its unresolved tort claim. Subrogation is the right of reimbursement from a responsible third-party. Revocation of Driving Privileges is a result of failure to provide proper insurance coverage at the time of accident. This is neither false, nor illegal. The claimant owner and driver are equally responsible for the loss, as the insurance company denied the claim due to no coverage at the time of the loss. The police report indicates the claimant being the owner of a vehicle involved in the referred accident. We have an obligation to our client to recover a minimum amount of funds based on the total amount.Initial Complaint

I received a collections letter from Vengroff Williams on September 15, 2023. Letter alleges $565.20 is owed to U-HAUL OVERTIME (LB), account #********, reference #*******. There is no merit or basis for this charge provided as I have not procured services from U-HAUL OVERTIME (LB). This appears to be a pattern of consistently incorrect collections activities from Vengroff Williams.Business Response

I have received a U-Haul Credit Charge Back document (attached) from Vengroff Williams debt collectors stating that they need to collect $211.99 based on an amount owed from 8/30/2023. I have not used U-Haul services in the time frame stated and this is a false claim. My desired outcomes of this complaint are as follows:1. Please clear this claim from my account 2. Fix any impacts to my credit rating/score 3. Have these people correct their practices, implement controls on their systems and avoid recurrence of unnecessarily harassment of people like me.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:1. The business did not even investigate that this is a valid claim and, on an assumption started the collection process. I need to see some proof that this will not be repeated in future and also would like an apology from the business inclusive of an acknowledgment that they did something wrong.
2. I am unaware of what impact this may have caused to my credit rating and score. I would like for them to make sure that my credit is still good and will not be impacted due to their mistakes.

I received a collection letter from Vengroff Williams *** on 8 September 2023. Said letter alleges I owe a chargeback debt of $123.81 to U-Haul. ( An account # ******* and reference# ******* was included) Said claim is a ******************** and without any merit or basis whatsoever. Research shows Vengroff Williams has consistently had to stop collection efforts and send these claims back to original claimant U-Haul. Vengroff Williams apparently makes no attempt to obtain any in depth verification before acting on these claims. Any reasonable review of the complaints listed here shows and exact pattern that requires review by some pertinant authority . Either Vengroff Williams or U-Haul should be made to provide information on these claims to protect the general public from continuing cost and harrasment.Business Response

The response they gave you is a "canned" reply and a repetition of numerous others who have seemingly been harassed by this apparent scheme. I recived a collection notice from Vengroff Williams for a U-Haul Overtime (LB) account. I have not used U-Haul in any capacity and after inquiring BBB about Vengroff, I see numerous letters concerning the same U-Haul account.
