On or about 22 June 2025, I received a debt collector notice from VENGOFF Williams, **** indicating that I had a past due account, of $388.15, with U-Haul Overtime LB. It further indicated this balance was owed as of 12/17/***** my knowledge, I have never rented nor used a U-Haul.Business Response

I recently received a letter from Vengroff Williams attempting to collect a debt allegedly owed to P4 Physical Therapy. However, I have no knowledge of this debt or any relationship with P4 Physical Therapy. I find this highly concerning and suspect the letter may be fraudulent. I will not enter my credit card information on any website, especially given the lack of prior communicationno bill, email, or phone callfrom P4 Physical Therapy. Plus, my first name is spelled incorrectly on the letter. This situation is very troubling, and I would appreciate clarification.Business Response

Entered by BBB staff AT. The consumer receive a letter in the mail saying that he owes $314.82. The letter does not show what company the debt is for. Vengroff Williams *** is posing as a collection agency for *****. I talked to Uhaul, and they do not employ an outside bill collecting ********** can see on the BBB Website that they have a history of trying to collect bogus, small amounts from ***** customers. (on the order of ************** they are hoping that people won't check, and just pay the relatively small amount. So, they are running a scam. It's a fraud. I am rejecting this response because: This is clearly a case of an attempted fraud. You need to provide me with proof from Uhaul that this was a legitimate claim, instead of fraud on your part.Uhaul does not use outside bill collection agencies. I would consider a communication directly from Uhaul, that I can verify by my contacting Uhaul directly to be sufficient proof. Absent this, I am convinced you are attempting fraud and so should be held accountable, and that the general public should be made aware of your fraudulent business practices.
How do you sleep at night, trying to defraud other people?. You should be ashamed of yourself.

I am rejecting this response because: This is clearly a scam. Just agreeing to waive the false charge does not make this okay. Your business model is to put these fake fees out there and hope that people will just pay. This is fraudulent, and across state lines.The BBB should be investigating this, not just letting them off the hook.

I received this notice from a Debt Collector dated 1/6/2025 for a total of $36.93. It is for a U-Haul Credit Charge Back. I paid my entire bill to U-Haul. When I received this notice I called U-Haul and they said that I disputed a charge; however, after speaking with my bank they confirmed that there is no record of a dispute ever being filed. U-Haul said that this has already been sent to collection and there is nothing that they can do. I also spoke with the rental location and they confirmed that my bill was paid in full.Business Response

I received a debt collection invoice from Vengroff Williams, *** for a U-Haul credit charge back. The invoice is for $912.81 and has an account #******* and reference #******* associated to it. I have not used a U-Haul or does the invoice indicate where or when the actual rental took place. This appears to be some sort of attempt to falsely collect money that is not owed.Business Response
