BUYER BE AWARE! I am a veteran who enrolled in CISSP training through the Veteran Cyber Security Group (VCSG), listed as an official training partner on the ISC2 website. I was drawn to them by their name, assuming they’d uphold high standards and support veterans with integrity. The training was offered under the guise of a “sponsorship” at no cost and no risk—buy one training, and two U.S. Active Duty soldiers would train for free. Then came an unsolicited offer that seemed too good to be true: in addition to my CISSP training, official study materials, and exam voucher, I would also receive free CSSLP training, materials, and a CSSLP exam voucher. Wow—too good to be true, I say now. Hindsight is 20/20. The only thing I received was CSSLP training, which consisted of reading slides. The CISSP services I paid $3,450 for were never delivered. After months of delays, when I requested a refund, VCSG used the sponsorship and “free” training to deny it. They offered only $699—the supposed “difference” between the free CSSLP and paid CISSP—even though what was delivered had no materials, voucher, or value. At one point, they offered a “seat” in an ISC2 class (again, no materials/voucher). In cybersecurity, what value is training without certification? Try telling that to an employer. VCSG’s CEO, **** ********, seems helpful at first—enough to fool banks—but ultimately twists words and avoids accountability. After I filed complaints and pushed for a refund, they refused to honor even the $699 refund or seat. To appear helpful, **** offered CMMC training instead, which I declined. I have a 20+ year career in IT—I wanted the CISSP to advance professionally. Just recently, **** said all refund offers and the CMMC training were being withdrawn from me. This experience has been misleading, frustrating, and financially damaging. Avoid VCSG. Go directly through ISC2 or another reputable provider if you want real training and value.
