RUN..do not walk away from this place. If I could give a 0 I would. They literally have left hardware in my truck in addition to using substandard parts. We used them to to brake pads which needed to be replaced quickly. Under the advice of a former employees of theirs who remembered us and happened to have moved to ******* where he was now our service tech, we took it to Midas for the brake pads to be replaced under our existing warranty. As apparantly required by their warranty we paid labor on the pads and they insisted that the rotors had to be replaced as well as they were shot. Over an additional $1000 later we walked out with new pads and rotors Fast forward to now. We are in the same boat. My husband spoke to the manager who stated everything world be covered and made right. We would just have to pay 195 for the labor. We made an appointment for the repair. However once we arrived, we were told the pads need replaced but they will not honor their warranty unless we pay them an additional almost 600 plus labor to replace the rotor also. I mentioned that we world just go to Meineke, whom have shown themselves to be ethical and competent, for the rotors and have Midas repair the pads under warranty. The manager then explained that if we do that it nullified their warranty. He said of anyone else touches the rotors Midas will not honor their warranty for the pads. Since they aren't honoring it anyway we made an appointment elsewhere to pay them to do the job correctly for a change since Midas is unable. Since, I have spoken to others who have had similar experiences but just didn't speak up. They just did as we are and had another company fix Midas's problem. ***. The manager pulled out the warranty he kept referring to and it says NOTHING about the rotor at all especially as a prerequisite. Also the rude and condescending attitude of management especially regarding his and his tech's "work hours and effort" were the height of unprofessionalism.

"This auto repair shop on Halsted in Homewood, IL is top-notch! I've had several repairs done there, and they always do a great job. They were prompt, professional, and explained everything clearly. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and the prices are fair. Alex the owner was fair and kind. I'll definitely be taking my car there again!" Highly recommended!"

Midas case ******* I am never going here again. So, I work nights and I have a Corporate F150 work truck. I told them I wanted a name brand tire like ****, ********, ******. What do they do, they put on a cheap Chinese Sailun tire that I did not request. They tell me they do not have tire in stock and that I will have to wait til tomorrow. Today I get out at 3 pm no call or text. I go to the shop and the tire is ready. No call or text. I had already arranged to go to ****** that had the tire in stock assuming they were not ready. Then I get there and I tell them to take their tire off I am going somewhere else he refused. I told him that my time is valuable and I am doing this on my day off. He did not care.

I waited 4hours .2 hours waiting for parts. Job took less than 2 hours to do and they charged me $611.00 Place should be arrested for unarmed robbery. Beware people place is a big scam!

I had an Muffler system put on my car as they claimed and charged me $463.00. But they didn't put a muffler system on my car they only replace a tiny section and stared they replaced from the converter back except the tail pipe which is the expensive portion. Also, the place they replaced is only welded partly and then puttied the rest of the way. I have highly disappointed I will never go back nor would I recommend to anyone

I recently had a very disappointing experience at Midas. On January 30, I went in to get brake repairs done. I dropped off my car, and the team seemed to review everything thoroughly. They contacted me promptly once the repairs were completed, and I picked up my car the same day.The next day, I used my car to run a few errands. As I was driving in midtown ., my brakes completely failed, and I nearly crashed. Fortunately, I was close to home and was able to get back safely. Upon inspecting the vehicle, I discovered brake fluid leaking from the car.I immediately contacted the store manager, who claimed that this wasnt Midass fault and that it couldve happened at any point, despite the fact that the brake fluid was leaking and my brakes had failed right after the repair. They repaired the car and i requested they refund some of the services due to it being done incorrectly. They stated there was nothing they could do, so I escalated the issue to the district manager ****. However, he was equally unhelpful, telling me that Midas doesnt offer refunds for services, even when the initial repair seemed to have been done incorrectly.Overall, Im very dissatisfied with the service I received, and I wont be returning. The lack of accountability and refusal to make things right left me with no confidence in their service. I would rate this experience a zero if I could.

I can't give any stars, but they made me put at least one. I dropped my truck off at the *********** **** location on a Friday morning. I had called them Wednesday on my way into town when I noticed a breaking issue with my truck. They reassured me that they could assess the situation and more than likely get me back on the road by Sunday. I had told them it's more than likely my hydroboost or it could be my master cylinder. As I was getting back pressure on my pedal and it was feeling spongy. I know they had already been properly bled. After several phone calls to them trying to find out the status of my truck and, them having my truck for 30 hours. They couldn't even tell me what the problem was at that point. I had driven by on Friday night and my truck was in the garage with the hood up. Horrible customer **********************, and I'm starting to question the knowledge of this shop. I pretty much had told them what the problem was. They could have called me and said they would put a new hydroboost and master cylinder on it for less than $500 in Parts Plus labor and I would have told them to do it. Luckily I drove 600 miles back home and didn't kill myself or anyone else. I will never go to Midas for anything ever again.
