On 11/19/22 I was at this location when I purchased a locker. After placing my key into the locker, I didn't remove it from the keyhole and turned around to change my clothes. Someone had quickly taken the key, closed and locked it, and then walked away. Fortunately, I had not yet placed any of my things inside the locker. I went to the staff to explain what had just happened and they were immediately off-putting by stating that I had to pay $50 for a lost/stolen key. This was presented as the first and only option, and when asked if they could at least announce over the intercom if someone had absconded with a key that doesn't belong to them, they said that I needed to lose my attitude and refused to do it right away. One of the workers, who is a long-time employee, went to the locker with a master key and stated to me that the key is probably inside the locker. That's when I felt it was an inside job because the lockers cannot be locked except by turning the key and then by removing it. This is to say that the key cannot be left inside the locker and then locked from the outside--there is only one way to do it. This establishment is a*********************************************************possibly posing a public health risk. Stealing a key from an empty or unfilled locker doesn't benefit anyone but the staff, as this would mean that the customer would have to pay $50 for a lost/stolen key plus the cost of an additional locker. Banning me from the establishment within five to fifteen minutes was overkill. As a patron with a paid membership, I was highly upset that the staff was more adamant that I pay $50 for a lost/stolen key as opposed to being good customer service agents by offering to announce to everyone if a key had gotten mixed in with something they had by accident.
