According to information in BBB files, the business is using fake celebrity endorsements in its advertising, specifically Meghan Markle, Christy Brinkley, Mark Cuban, Shark Tank, Oprah Whinfrey, Amazon survey, Delta Flight survey, Walmart survey, Sam's Club survey, Kohl's, Target, Walgreens and Costco. BBB's Code of Advertising indicates that advertising which uses testimonials or endorsements is misleading if they are not genuine and do not represent the current opinion of the endorser (Section 30, Testimonials and Endorsements).
In April 2019, BBB contacted the business regarding its advertising of free trial periods of its products. Consumers that sign up for the free trial period are enrolled in a monthly subscription for additional products. BBB requested the business substantiate that the claims meet the standards outlined in BBB's Code of Advertising (Section 18, Negative Option Plans, Continuity Plans and Automatic Shipments). The Code maintains that "Any advertisement for a product or service that includes an offer to sell or provide consumers with additional goods or services under a negative option feature must include a clear and conspicuous disclosure of all material terms of the negative option feature." Material terms that should be clear and conspicuous include the existence of the negative option feature, the cost of the additional goods or services, how consumers can cancel and avoid future shipments and charges, and how consumers can return items that they do not want. The Code continues that "advertisers must avoid making disclosures that are vague, unnecessarily long or which contain contradictory language."
Additionally, BBB asked the company to substantiate claims made on its website about the efficacy or results of using the company's products. BBB requested the business substantiate the claims per standards outlined in BBB's Code of Advertising (Section 34, Claimed Results). Claims as to efficacy or results which will be obtained by or realized from a particular product should be based on recent and competent scientific or other objective data. Advertisers should be prepared to substantiate such claims.
As of this date, the business has not responded to BBB's request for substantiation about its advertising.

My complaint is basically like the others. The product came and I had a severe allergic reaction to the product. I called customer service the next day to provide details. At that time, I canceled any further shipments and my membership. I was told not to return the product, that my membership was canceled and I owed them nothing. Two years later (today) I received a call stating that I was still active in their system and that I owed then almost $90.00. FROM TWO YEARS AGO. I have not received emails nor phone calls from these people until today. They would not let me cancel (again) until I paid what they said I owed them. I explained what had happened two years ago. I asked them to send me another email with my statement attached and I would take care of it. They said they could not send another email. I refused to pay it! These people should be stopped!

Major Scam! This company was calling me from different phone numbers & when I called the #s back, no answer (1st SIGN OF SCAM) This time when they called again, I answered their call & the man on the line said that They already shipped my product ; Anti aging cream eye serum to my home. When I asked for the address it was sent to, it was an old address (didnt live there for 2 years) THIS WAS A 2nd sign OF SCAM! The card they said I paid with, was an old card (3rd SIGN OF SCAM) and the time I supposedly opened an account with them or bought a product was during covid (4th SIGN OF SCAM)! I know for a Fact I didnt buy anything online during that time. Especially because it was the time during the pandemic started and I remember it so well. When I refuse to pay or give him any of my info. The man got combative and said he was going to report me to collections. I said That I was going to report him to the BBB! WATCH OUT FOR LA PURA SKIN *** THIS IS A SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM. La pura skin company
