This company is a FRAUD!!! I booked our first family trip to ******* through the website, I read every term and condition, I understood the conditions, but in the end they still found a way to scam me!!!i was rented a non working car!!!! They forced me to add an additional driver even when it wasnt necessary because we only wanted one drive! They forced additional insurance!! The car they rented to us had multiple issues!!!! I have videos and photos! I want tot see them to court! I want my full refund back!Initial Complaint

I rented a car through holiday cars for pickup at *** from Nextcar #********. This reservation was made back in January. When I went to pick up my car I was told it was given to someone else and there were no cars available. But cars were available if I was willing to pay $600 more than my initial rental. I was left stranded at the airport 2 hours from my accommodations. I ended up spending money on an pricey uber and booking a car rental to the airport as a result of this.When I reached out to Nextcar customer service (car supplier) I was told that they could not contact the branch, nor could I because they did not receive incoming calls. I made this call March 11th, the day I was supposed to pick up my rental. I literally had no one to call and notify that I would be late.When I called holidaycars.com on March 11th, I was intentionally hung up on by your customer service associate because he didn't want to help me. It's clear this customer service rep was located over seas and could care less about providing reasonable or even decent customer service. Emails back an forth with holidaycars.com have left me asking repeatedly for the contact number at head office. They refuse to provide it. They also tried to suggest that the customer service number I called, the one printed on my voucher did not belong to them. ************Initial Complaint

Rented a car from ********* *************** **. *** car rental company through Holidaycars.com for December 11-20,2023 PrePaid for rental in advance Upon arrival I was asked to buy their insurance even though I had a valid insurance policy , which they did not accept. There was no mentioning on their website as to which insurance they accept or not. I made reservations to rent a car in 2020, but due to pandemic, Holidaycars.com decided to give me voucher credits for a future car rental. I have not tried to travel until recently and when logging into my Hoidaycars.com account realized that the company had gone bankrupt and they dissolved my credits. I do not want money back but I want my credits back. Apparently there was a way to file money/credits owed with the bankruptcy court, however since the old Holidaycars.com did not make an effort to let me know that they went bankrupt, via regular communication, I had no idea what had happened and did not contact the bankruptcy court with my claim. I would also like to do this with the bankruptcy court.Business response

I am rejecting this response because:Since the current "Holiday.com" bought the bankrupt "Holiday.com", they do have affiliation with the old business. They should be able to tell me where I can send my request to (old company) about filing un honored rental vouchers. This new company "Holiday.com" I notice, also sent a message to my old Holiday.com account (which I did not receive until last month) about debt from the old company. They could have contacted me through normal communication, email,etc but chose to be sneaky about taking on debt from the old "Holiday.com"

By decision of the ******** (CH) District Court, the company was declared bankrupt with effect from 23 September 2021.

We do sincerely regret having to inform you of the situation with ************* Sarl (CH) and feel sorry about the impact this causes.

As already informed due to the take over of Booking ****************** on 26 July 2021 the operation of the website holidaycars.com none of the liabilities were transferred and as such Booking ****************** is only responsible for all new bookings placed on or after 26 July 2021, as well as any refunds which relate to bookings placed on or after 26 July 2021 only.
By decision of the Lausanne District Court in ***********, the company was declared bankrupt with effect from 23.09.2021 due to the long-lasting impact of the ******19 pandemic, measures taken havent been enough to keep BookingMonkey Sarl (***********), the trading company behind HolidayCars.com at time of your booking, from insolvency issues.
We are very sorry for the loss of the customer and we do sincerely regret having to inform you of the situation with BookingMonkey Sarl (***********).

Business will not allow a prepaid credit to be used, and is keeping the funds that are rightfully ours. We have $213.27 in credit, which is recognized in our online profile for HolidayCars.com. Hi hired a car from holidaycars.com 14-09-2020 and due to covid restrictionshad to cancel, they said I could only have a voucher which I said that is fine to to moving the holiday to 2021, but since having it I have been unable to use and now says I cannot due to the company being insolvent, however they are still operating, I would like a refund of my £ 136.18, my reference is ********Business response

Hello and thank you for your time to help me! I entered into a "contract" with holidaycars.com during Covid-19 to credit me the full amount of my car rental reservation via holidaycars.com, to which I agreed. I am now faced with a different story from holidaycars.com as I attempt to use my credited amount to rent a holidaycars.com vehicle for my travel destination to Fort Lauderdale, FL next month (December 4-16, 2021). Enclosed is the notice I received after attempting to make my vehicle reservation via holidaycars.com. The notice basically states holidaycars.com cannot honor my credited amount. I did make the original reservation on my Visa credit card, so perhaps I may be able to recover my lost funds that way ...but equally important is that holidaycars.com is just telling me they cannot honor my credited amount.
