Our outbound flight from Israel to ****** was cancelled on 6/13/2025 by **** because of the war. Our flight date was 6/18/ 2025 Our confirmation X7U2AO. **** promised to rebook customers stuck in ********************** at no extra cost before opening their regular schedule back up. But instead they only helped their customers outside of ********************** to get home. We have not been helped and the only flights available are business class seats at 6k each and not many of those. They say call or message their customer service center but there is no way to get through. Ive been on hold for over six hours. They are not only not helping us but they are price gouging customers who need to get home. There are many of us stuck here without getting help. Thank youInitial Complaint

I purchased a ticket under PNR 4LRWGO Ticket #s 114-7290720958 and 114-7290721256 for Mom and baby, ticket was purchased in Premium cabin and airline was paid in full and then issued the tickets on May 9, 2025 then on May 13, 2025 **** *** went into the ticket and canceled it inorder to be able to make more money on the ticket that they already sold us. This was done without notice and unauthorized as my travel agent owns the ticket stock not the airline. When i tried to check in I was told that the ticket was canceled and was forced to Pay more expensive fare again in airport on May 15, 2025 the flight date. This was a duplicate payment as I already paid in full on May 9. **** falsely blamed my travel agent for this negligence and made up false excuses of how it got canceled, however my travel agent pulled up the ticket history and proved that **** was lying and that **** canceled the ticket with the **** *** name ******* *****. **** has been dishonest throughout this entire process and stole from a mom traveling alone with baby, they acted out of greed and dishonesty and took advantage, while trying to make the travel agent look bad inorder to cover up for their Greed. **** not only canceled the ticket but they blocked the seat so the travel agent would not be able to rebook it, so they can make me pay a higher fair in airport to be able to travel. Unacceptable deceitful airline. They must be held accountable for their actions. **** is a fraud company. Too much dishonesty and theft.Initial Complaint

I had a round trip ticket to fly with El Al to ****** from NY - flight #**** from March 6 to March 10. The way to Israel went very smooth. On March 10 when I arrived to the airport to go back, everything went as usual as well. I boarded the plane and even took my sleeping pills and started snoozing. after a good half hour of waiting, we were notified that there was an issue with the plane (I think the bathroom) and need to exit. We all went off and then waited in the airport and waiting 2 hours in the airport then started the entire boarding process again. I had an important meeting to catch in ** which I missed due to the delay.I reached to out to Elal regarding reimbursement and was notified that since the delay was for 2:45 min instead of 3:00 they will not give me anything. I think I need to be reimbursed for the flight back to ** for the inconvenience this caused.Initial Complaint

We are writing to ask for your help in getting a refund for tickets (and insurance) purchased through the El Al Airlines website on June 2, 2024 for an outbound flight on October 5 and return flight on October 15. We have attempted to cancel the flight on numerous occasions beginning September 11 via website, e-mail and phone calls-but the carrier has made it impossible to cancel the ************** be specific, we purchased 3 tickets in good faith with reservation code SEMN83, Rashba, for 3 passengers at a total cost of approximately $7803. Subsequent to the purchase of these tickets, first ****** was diagnosed with right foot cellulitis on June 27, a condition which has lingered and led to micro-edema in the foot and ankle. As per the ********************* direction, we submitted a signed doctors letter stating that ****** ****** was medically advised to avoid a long distance commercial flight to ********************** a letter which El Al acknowledges receiving. The letter was resubmitted on two subsequent occasions, most recently Friday September 27 along with a doctors letter from ******* Rashbas (age 89) physician stating that she, too, was unable to fly due to a compression fracture in her back. These e-mails and letters have yet to be acknowledged.Additionally, we have tried on at least 10 occasions to cancel the reservation online, only to receive a message that reads We are sorry. We cannot complete a refund through the website. You should contact the party from whom you purchased the ticket-even though these tickets were purchased from the site. Our numerous E-mails to the designated cancellation e-mail address of ********************* (beginning September 23) have gone unanswered and the El Al call center informs us that they cannot cancel the reservation until the El Al medical director reviews the medical letters. We are requesting your help in obtaining the refund to which we are entitled.Thank you very much.Initial Complaint

We bought round trip tickets from ****** to ******** and ******** to ******. We are 2 adults 4 kids. September 28, 2023 till Oct 8, 2023. We went to ******** to visit family and war broke out on Oct 7, 2023. My husband had paid extra to stay a little longer.- Oct 12, 2023. On Oct 8, 2023 we were all scared in and out of basements used as bomb shelters. We were all ready to leave. I didnt know if flight was leaving. We called but no answer just music. We missed our flight because we couldnt contact anyone to check if flight was leaving. We are an hour away from airport. On Oct. 9 we went to airport with kids and waited in line all day. We wanted to change our six tickets to get home as soon as possible. They had no flights to *** so we went to ********. They told us to purchase new tickets and after EL AL would refund us for the previous tickets. We bought 6 new tickets and were never refunded. They said they could freeze our tickets and can be used at a later date. I called up and they said tickets have to be used by September 28, 2024. War is still going on and they are still canceling all flights as of a week ago to and from ********. A refund of the unused ticket would be nice as originally told but even allowing us to use the tickets at another time when the war is not going on. We have a lot of family in ********. We got stuck in ******** and needed to get home. Someone that we dont know out of kindness bought us tickets back to ******************** and then we took a taxi ride home.Initial Complaint

Due to the unfortunate attacks in Israel in October 2023, it became unsafe for me to travel to Israel as originally planned. As a result, I promptly requested a cash refund for my ticket. However, El Al Airlines refused my request and instead issued a voucher $945.72. Since receiving this voucher, I have made multiple attempts over the past year to book a new flight with El Al Airlines. Unfortunately, these attempts have been met with significant obstacles. The prices for flights have either doubled or tripled, making it impossible for me to book a flight within a reasonable price range. Additionally, the availability of seats during the times I am able to travel is extremely limited, further hindering my ability to utilize the voucher.In an effort to use the voucher, I have also explored booking flights to other countries that El Al Airlines claims to service. However, I have found it equally impossible to secure a flight to these destinations, despite the airline's assertions that they operate flights to those countries.I believe that El Al Airlines' refusal to provide a cash refund and the subsequent inability to use the voucher constitutes an unfair and deceptive business practice. The significant increase in prices and lack of available flights have rendered the voucher effectively useless, depriving me of the service I paid for.I kindly request that the BBB intervene in this matter and assist me in obtaining a full cash refund for the original flight purchase.Thank you for your attention to this matter.
