I, just like many people filing a complaint have been scammed by this company. My story is really not different from unfortunately the dozens of other stories listed her. I signed up and spoke with an advisor thinking that I was chatting with an advisor that was part of a promotional deal of 40 mins for $40. I was lead to a portal where apparently it was for premium advisors only. Once my call ended I was charged nearly $600. This is clearly done intentionally by the business owners, considering so many people are having this issue. Why do you continue to connect us with premium psychics that are out of our price range. If you really cared about of valued your customers that would be a first and obvious option. I still have no clue how were supposed to take advantage of the special. And Ive seen the responses from the business manager, its clear to me that they lack care, remorse or empathy from the rude and disrespectful responses that theyre giving to people they scammed. My heart goes out to people who were in a vulnerable state, seeking guidance and ended up getting scammed out of their hard earned money. I know I certainly didnt have $600 to throw away on something like this. An expensive ****** was learned, and Im hoping me and all the others get whats owed to them. We do offer a premium tier of psychics and offer 5 minutes free with them. We also tell you to hang up the minute we play the tone so that your sample reading does not turn into a full premium reading. ****** could have hung up, she didn't. on 5/23/23 I contacted Ask now after seeing a ******** ad. I was up sold to a Mast psychic which costs $135 for 20 mins. I was told they are the best and they will not need any information from you at all and will be able to tell you everything. This was not the case the psychic was distracted and asked a lot of questions. this is a total scam and their ******** ads should be taken down. People should know not to call these people it's a money grab. When I called for resolution they said the only thing they would offer me is 10 free mins with another psychic. No Thank you! Customer did call ** with the complaint that the reader was distracted. We sent the call to our ***************** to review and found that the customer and ********************** were active throughout the call. Customer even thanked the ********************** for her time and said she got a lot out of the reading. Even though there wasn't anything wrong with the call we offered to give 10 minutes back as our policy states. I am rejecting this response because: the really didn't address the concerns it's not buyers remorse I've had readings from other services and never filed a complaint. They didn't address the distractions by the psychic or the fact that I was up sold on services that weren't rendered. They said I wouldn't have to tell this person anything yet she kept asking for more information.

On April 23, 2023, I contacted ASKNow pyschics from a text from spiritual society. I have been receiving texts from them foe weeks and decided that If $30 can help my life, I will try it. The lady gave me a five minute reading for free with a master clairevoyant. She told me to call back after that. I did. I had already told them that I only wanted the $40 package, nothing else. When they brought the other psychics on the line, I'm thinking that this is who I had to choose from. I was allowed to speak for seven minutes. Then I spoke with what they call customer service. I have been in customer service, including management, for a very long time and never have I spoken with someone so rude. I will never use this company again if I can just get my $40 back. We really tried to work with *********. We even reviewed all of our calls to verify we did explain the service to her. In the end, she didn't want to hear any of it. When one manager would talk to her about what was said, she would request a different manager. We informed her when she signed up for our service of the different tiers of psychic. When connecting to the reader, we alert them when they are connecting to an Elite and that they do not have credits for that. We have refunded and closed this account. During December I received emails from a psychic about a relationship I had. They offered me a 30 minute consult for $30.Jan. 9 I decided to call, the inital person on the phone explained about the pricing. I explained about the email and the psychic I wanted to speak to. I was never told about different levels of psychics. I was told at 5 minutes I would get a ton. Nothing about me having to call back in. I figured I was speaking to the person that offered me the 30 minutes. They did indicated I would received 10 additional minutes. So I spoke to this person for 46 minutes. Well my card was charged 4 charges adding up to $613.59. I called and was told ********** would review the initial call. Customer has already been explained that this was a sales piece and was offered either $30 for 30 minutes to speak to one of ***'s Top Rated psychics. We offered several options including an upgrade to our Club Membership for $40 for 40 minutes with our Top Rated psychics and then gave her 5 Complimentary minutes with our *********** of psychics. Our Elite readers are a group of psychics which are not included in the $30 for 30 *** is offering in her email. ***** was first connected to one of these Elite psychics to use her 5 Complimentary minutes. When connecting, we play alerts for her informing/reminding her that her package minutes do not work with this psychic. Then 5 minutes into that call, we play yet another tone alerting her that we are going to bill her. As she should have noticed in the other complaints as I am mentioning here, there is some personal responsibility requires on the customers part to disconnect when prepaid time is gone. This also was explained in the initial sales call. This customer has already threatened to dispute with her bank. When doing this, we ended negotiations as she claimed to already be talking to her bank about the dispute. I am rejecting this response because:I was out of town and did not have access to my email to respond.
Below is the response from the business, I have highlighted those statements that are incorrect. I was NOT informed about these different levels. I explained about the email and the offer. I was not told I was being connected to anyone other than the person that sent me the email which would have cost $30.
There are many reviews online from people that have had the same problem. Please see these (********************************************************************) It is the same issue. I am on a limited income, there is no way I would agree nor spend this kind of money. They did NOT inform me that I needed to hang up and call back as they mention below. They did record my call so I would like that reviewed so the truth will come out.
I did explain that I had disputed the charges with my bank as I didn't know who those charges were for as it was NOT listed as ASKNOW it was listed as ****************. I even called a number for **************** in *** but never received a call back. I also email them to no avail.(copy of email attached). No way these people tried to settle this dispute as they indicate. I did not threaten I simply told them I had disputed the charges.

Initial call indicated price points specific to specific services. A master psychic was sold as using no cards or tools at a higher price point than the expect psychic who does use cards and tools. The specific psychic requested was who the agent indicated they were transferring me to and instead I was transferred to someone else. After being transferred, it took several minutes into the call to learn that the psychic was using tools, but I was charged the master psychic rate anyways. After several days of follow up, the manager shrugged off the concern and indicated that management felt the call would have ended earlier (before learning the service was incorrect), and has no plans to reconcile the price discrepancy.Business Response

What we say in our sales pitch is that some of our readers use less tools, and have a higher chance to get details. We already attempted to resolve this with the customer. We even played the calls back to her where we explained the service and how we charge. This customer elected to stay on the phone with our Elite Psychic after being told by customer service that it would cost $13.99 per minute after the initial 5 complimentary minutes. She also had to accept a prompt from our IVR to connect to acknowledging she understood that prepaid packages do not work with the Elite psychic. She also received an alert 5 minutes into that call, telling her the complimentary time was up and "Per minute billing has began. " After this 5 minutes tone she continued to talk to the psychic for an additional 38 minutes. We break these charges up along the call so she is not hit all at once
7 minutes into the call we billed the first $97.93
18 more minutes into the call we billed $251.82
Then at the conclusion we billed the remaining $181.87
This was all her choice and completely consensual after being informed about the process. She has already charged back against the company and has been blacklisted from doing business with us in the future.

We never tell anyone the service cuts off automatically when prepaid time is expired. This is how a per minute phone network works. We even explain to them on the phone that you NEED to hang up is you do not want to be billed. Customer did call our customer service and try to claim the same thing. I called this company and was offered a plan for ***** for an hour, I accepted this. I was then charged 3 more charges totaling over $****** I disputed this with my credit card company as I only called them one time. I hung up and was told to call right back I was not even on the phone for a minute. I received my dispute papers in the mail and it shows my 40 mins were never used just took my credit card payment. I called every number I have for them and I can not get through, I had called this after my husband and I split and my mom died I am a single mom that does not have this kind of money and never would have agreed to such services One charge is for ******, the other is for $153.89 the other is for $97.93. She initially purchased a $40 prepaid package and we explained to her that we have two separate tiers of psychics, one that works with her minutes and one that doesn't, because they are more expensive. We reminded her several times along the way by playing prompts telling her the minutes do not work with the psychic selected, and yet she chose to continue. Then 5 minutes into the first call, reminded her again. She elected every step of the way to talk to our Elite reader. In my opinion, ****** actually had no intention to meeting us half way, she has already charged back the charges. I had only called one time and spoke with one person, the ***** charge was what I was told I would be billed for and that was all, I never asked for another call and never called back, they have fraudulent charges all over the internet from this fradulent company. I called one time, did not go over, the phone rang as soon as i hung up and some lady said to call back after midnight for more details which I did not . I have been calling for weeks after I saw the credit card statement and my number is blocked from them now, which is why I went this avenue , I sent an email and it was bounced back, they do business under multiple dba's, I called 6 different numbers and could not get through , Over $500 in charges for one day is not acceptable

Asknow.com has been in business for over 15 years, and these rates are nothing new. To imply that $500 for a top ranked reader is overpriced is ridiculous. Just go look some of our competitors who charge more per minute. We warn you and inform you of our rates, just because you don't pay attention and you don't listen to us telling you the per minute rate, isn't the fault of our company. Take some personable responsibility here...
Besides, you already got your money back through the bank, there is nothing to refund

I kept getting a text from a psychic so I finally called. It was only $30 for 30 min, so I thought I would check it out. I spoke with a male and I gave him my CC information and then he told me the psychic I wanted to speak to was on another line but I could either speak with another psychic or I could give him my number and she would call me back. I never received a call back. I tried for 3 to 4 days, so I finally just decided to speak with another psychic. I spoke with the psychic for 3 minutes when a male came on and cut the talk off and said if I wanted to continue speaking with the psychic, I would need to pay $67.15. I told him no, I didn't want to do that and that I would also like my $30 back, he refused. I told him I would report him to my bank and he told me to go ahead, because he knows how to win a bank dispute. Sure enough my bank sided with him and I found another $67.15 charge on my account the same day as the other one. I am going to *** my bank and his company.
