      I was rear-ended by someone insured by this company, hard enough for my vehicle to be a total loss. The claim was filed timely enough, however, it took a couple days to hear from a live person, several more to get a status update - meanwhile, I'm left hanging without transportation, totally in the dark - until finally, after more attempts to reach out, I get a call back from the adjuster only to tell me that she cannot pay me the assessed value of my car because her insured has "limits," and she also has to worry about the cost of fixing HIS car. She can't tell me what those limits are, of course. I was given two not ideal options - go through my own insurance to be made whole, or accept half the value of the car but that's it (no rental car, and I also have to figure out how to move and handle the totaled car, etc.). What kind of policy has such low limits? My brother's liability-only insurance policy covers up to $100k! This group can't pay me $25k and put me in a rental for a week while I try to find a new car? She was really condescending too, like she was speaking to a child, and kept asking if I understood her and did she need to repeat anything because she can tell I don't do this every day. I'm absolutely livid at how this was handled and hope my insurance takes them to the cleaners during subrogation. This is not the way to treat a victim.

      I've had this insurance for decades since I got a license Their policy changed that if your payment is late they drop your policy I wasn't made aware of this change and never had a problem when I occasionally was late I called them they accepted the late payment and didn't tell me my policy was done I found out from motor vehicle through a mailer When I called they said they tried to call a number that was 25 years old to reach me I expected more effort and better treatment from a company I've paid for decades Be careful if you use them if they can treat a long time client this bad how will they treat you

      My son car was stolen on New Years 2024 his car is on my family policy where we have 4 cars on top of that we have our business insured thru them, we file a claim because the car was total by the person who stole the car it been 3 months and Main Street of America is dragging their feet and every time they ask for something else because they said is required for their investigation, they said the car was not stolen and one of us crash the car, we provided them with our phone records, Texts records, they read our personal texts, bank statements of everybody in the policy, where and when we used our cards, they called everybody in the call records, they individually interrogated us, trying to put any of us behind the wheel. After 3 months they can find any evidence of that. Also they want us to get recording from Lexus when the car was crash but even though my son is the owner he just bought the car used 2 months before the theft and he did not have a pay membership with Lexus Connect but still when the air bags deploy Lexus called 911, my son have called ***** and provided then with proof of ownership, ******************** report and still they said they cant release any recording only the location that it was over an hour from ********* where we live. We have cooperate with them on everything. Also the adjuster ************************* told my son on a recording line to change form theft claim to a Collision claim but one of is have to be behind the wheel, because as he said the process of the claim will be faster something not honest at all to said to a client, legally he was leading a customer to lie to a ********************** company to get a benefit. Also something that was disturbing he said that a Lexus was a luxury car a young men. My son have a great job, great income and a great credit score and credit history. And this Company have been treading us very bad, probably because of our ethnicity and accent or they are bad just like that. I do not recommend this Company at all!

      I was sideswiped by a Main Street America driver. Main Street America reached out to me immediately after I submitted the claim to their agent. I was told to submit one of the two claims I got for the damage to my car and pics of all four corners of my car. I complied. I was informed that THIER adjuster would send me an estimate. Their estimate came back very low. I put the car in the bodyshop and they lined me up with a rental. I was told what vehicle I was assigned. I told the adjuster that car would not work as it was a compact and I drive a full size car to carry all of my equipment. I also sent the adjuster a pic of my car with all of the equipment. She relayed to me she would have to get it approved through her supervisor. I asked that the supervisor call me. Which he did.His name is ******* ***. (That was how my phone transcribed his name). I am glad I was sitting down when we spoke. He told me. "It was against the law in the *********** to upgrade me to a full size car and If I didn't like the law, I could contact my state legislator!" Also, I could upgrade myself and pay for it myself and if I submitted it to them, he would deny the upgrade. I am awaiting someone to get back to me on the diminished value of my car.I get the impression this is not a great company to work for. Very poor customer service.I hope these calls have been recorded. *****

      This is the WORST company I have ever had to deal with. Its been 3 months since our house fire and not any closer to a settlement. Ive been a client for 59 years and NEVER had a claim(wont be one any longer). After reading some on-line reviews, it looks like a standard practice to drag claims as long as possible.DO NOT OBTAIN INSURANCE FROM MAIN STREET AMERICA!!!!!

      Canceled my policy with them on February 1st. They entered my cancellation of the contract into their system on February 3rd but decided they wouldnt enter my refund into their system until the 10th? Its is now February 23rd and Main Street America HAS NOT returned my money. I understand waiting 5 business days for the refund to show in my account but it has been well over that. Main Street America, why are you keeping my money?

      WORST INSURANCE EVER!! AVOID them if you can!! I've been waiting for TWO MONTHS for a rental, and they're STILL making me WAIT! Not only that, but the person working on my case (*******) was very rude when she spoke to me. I explained what happened in the accident and sent in the police report that clearly stated that the other person admitted they ran through the stop sign. ******* kept asking me the same question over and over, which didn't make any sense. "How fast were you going when you stopped?" I didn't understand her question, so she kept repeating herself and yelling at me. My friend heard how she spoke to me and called her out on it, then she finally lowered her voice and stopped with her attitude. I don't know what her problem is; if she doesn't like her job, then she should just quit. There's really no need to be rude to someone who has just gone through a traumatic accident. I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND this insurance. Save your time and money, go somewhere else if you don't want to wait around for months! Two months later, ** still waiting to get a reply back and my car is still sitting in the shop not being work on. Ridiculous!

      This company is clearly not capable of doing good business. After turning in a claim with them against one of their clients who hit my car, they decide to total my car out and send me a check. I get my check, it clears my bank, and would assume all is well. However, this company put a "stop payment" on the check that I received, after I already withdrew the money to go buy a car; now my bank account is severely overdrawn with additional fee's because of it and they still have no answers for me. I have called multiple times after discovering this information with my bank and so far all I've gotten from them is that "the adjuster is on the phone or away from their office", three different times. I pray no one else gets hit by their clients because they're completely unorganized and will s**** you over even more than their client did when they hit you.

      Terrible insurance company to deal with if a claim was started. I was involved in an accident with another party being at fault. As soon as the other party was known to have the same insurance copy the communication was silent and went from a possible total loss to a fix. They do not have the best interest of the insured person in mind and act out of bad faith. Now its over 2 months later and I still get very sparse answers to questions and have been sent to 4 different people to ask questions about my claim some of which have no idea whats happening. Total repair cost is now also up to within $600 of the total loss claim as defined by *** law and they still insist its not a total loss even though I have had a rental for the 9 weeks plus a reminisced value claim as well. The manager I talked to told me unfortunately nothing I hear will make it right and that I had to do what I had to do for this accident. That is not looking out for my best interest when I was not at fault nor what I pay thousands of dollars for insurance in my lifetime for. We pay insurance to avoid these issues but this company doesnt care about there policy holders and do what they want or think is best for them and the consumer if just left to take what they decide is best. Stay away from them and pay for a reputable company that will have your best interest in mind when or if you ever have a claim with them when its not your fault. This is why they have a 1 star rating and in hindsight I should have never left my old insurance company when they handled claims professionally and in good faith

      Main Street America cancelled my auto policy without warning after my car was totaled due to flooding. This caused a lapse in coverage for several weeks that I was unware of which skyrocketed my auto insurance rates and made it very difficult to get re-insured with a different company. Main Street did not notify me that my policy was canceled - electronically, over the phone, by mail, nothing. I don't understand how this is legal. They also dragged their feet with the settlement payout to the leasing company, causing me to have to pay the next monthly lease installment for a totaled car that I no longer owned. They took multiple days to get an adjuster out to survey the damage to my car while it sat waterlogged. Very poor communication with me having to act as the middle man between insurance and the leasing company. Avoid this insurance company at all costs.
