    **************,

I do not argee with this complaint.

We have been serving your system for 9 years. Yes we currently offer a 30 year warranty, that has been available for the last year and a half. We have always lead the industry with the best warranty terms. In 2014 when you signed with ** the industry had an average warranty of labor term of 5 years. We had 10 years labor free service on warranty coveraged equipment up to 10 years, if you look at your contract it clearly says this. Equipment warrabty for 25 years on the panels and inverters, other parts are 5 to 25 years, our labor replacement for these items and roof is up to 10 years.

In 2011 to 2012 we had a 2 year warranty when others had 1 year. 2013 to 14 we had 5 years, 2014 to 2016 we had 10 years, 2017 to 2021 we had 25 years warranty and now we have a standard 25 year with an optional 30 year warranty through a 3rd party insurance company that covers more than just labor and/or equipment. 30 years was never even a plausible option in 2014 or could have been offered.

We have records of all 7 phone calls 5 of which were weekend or after hours that were all returned the next business day. In those conversations and notes, your inquiries requested a replacement for your envoy, an item no longer covered by the enphase warranty for replacement. We offered the upgrade envoy at our equipment cost through enphase with added monitoring features and free installation with an extended warranty on it for 5 year by ** for free replacement even though your orginal warranty will expire next year we offered to extend that envoy warranty to match the new manufacturer warranty period.

Your other inquiry was for a removal and reinstallation of your solar panels for a new roof that was required. At no point have you requested an inspection nor was any damage expressed to us.

We understand that our older customers bring up our new warranty terms with disappointed and would like the same coverage you are not the only one. The solar industry was not as reliable and technical as it is now that enables solar equipment manufacturers to offer longer warranty that we can also back with a longer labor warranty.

In 9 years your system has never required a micro inverter change or panel change. Our service for you was only for envoy connections or general inquiries. This reliablity is the reason we have been able to offer longer warrantys then others by never using subcontractors which eliminates poor workmanship.

I understand the differences in warranties between 2014 and 2023 are discouraging but it does not validate this compliant,  we have and will fully honor our contract with you.

I am rejecting this response because:
I was never called by this company not once, since my solar panels were installed never returned a call, every time I call they said they call and never did, at one time I call them because my neighbor wanted solar panels and wanted the company that did it for me, never responded or called back, thats how bad they are.

    Sincerely,

In March 2021 May Electric installed a **** KW system. This year I reached out to them once again to have additional panels install to cover 100% of my electric use. I signed a contract on 1/30/23, applied and was approved for bank loan with ****************** which May Electric suggested, paid for commencement letter to be notarized and site inspection was completed. On 3/14 I received an email that my contract was canceled without any explanation. I have made every attempt to get an explanation of what happened but everything has failed, Mr ********************** sent an email indicating I will receive a certified letter by 3/31/23 with an explanation but that was not true, my request have simply been ignored. I was left with an approved loan and a signed contract and worst of all a really bad experience. The worst part is that I ************** cousin who also install solar panels with May Electric in 2022. I really hope nobody has to go back to May Electric for any services after installation because not sure if you will ever hear back.

    Business Response

We helped ***************** with many loan options and PV system designs since early 2020. Once the contract was signed, the project was completed as promised. ***************** has been a happy customer and has referred customers to us as well. As we have stated to you, regardless of your additional panels being cancelled if you need service on your system or have any questions with your existing system to contact our office or one of the service emails provided to you on your contract, May Electric owner's manual or by email. We have never left you and any of our customers with a valid warranty left uncontacted or without service within normal and productive time frames.

I canceled your contract due to the fact that I cannot manipulate or change the existing system pending a legal suit and potential tax fraud. After being a customer for a year and signing on for additional panels you submitted a complaint to the lender advising them, we violated their laws governed by CA that demands and encourages predatory sales tactics we will not conduct. The ******* government refuses to protect its consumers, so we take our own risks to protect our integrity. This resulted in over $9,500.00 taken from our account and deposited against your loan principal as a profit to you. It seems suspicious and intentional this was done after the *** could be applied for. Your certified letter has not been sent yet since our legal team has not completed the next steps, we will seek to litigate the $9,5000.00. We followed ******* law and have been punished for our honest actions by your malicious complaint to the lender. In the meantime, we have given notice to the *** that there was a refund on your original and eligible amount that now has been reduced by $9,500.00 which means around $2,850.00 of the received *** will need to be paid back to the *** as it is no longer an eligible expense.

We have been installing Solar electric for 13 years and have been in business for 17 years by operating in the best interest of our customers, following ******** laws and demanding honest ethics over profits. This has resulted in many individuals and companies infringing our good name by adding the name *** to their companys name or by internet advertising confusion, for 4 years now we have been in litigation with multiple companies acting or contracting as a *** company. We have over ***** customers over the past 17 years and we have only been to court once, we still service that customer and his system no different than any other customer, it is our duty and responsibility to do so without malice. Your attempt to insinuate we do not service our customers is invalid. We receive more calls from people looking for service each week because their company wont call them back or has gone out of business than we receive for our own service claims. We do not service any solar systems who are not original May electric customers, we focus on the customers who chose us and trust us to honor our promised and contracted warranties.  Now that this has been made a publicly viewed complaint, if anyone strongly considering our company would like to see all the details of this case, please let us know so you can see our facts and point of view. The customers personal information will be redacted with only the same name that the BBB shows as the listed complaint. Address,Email, phone # and other information will still be protected per law and our standards.

I am rejecting this response because:

This has to be a mistake. I have never reached out to ******************, which was the institution that provided a loan for the installation in 2021. I received the *** credit last year. On 3/17/23, I received an email from ****************** indicating the *** is due on 5/11/23 if I want to keep my payment low by reducing interest over the years, however as stated in the email from Dividend, applying the *** back to the ortigal loan is optional.

    Sincerely,

Attached are documents of the notice we received, when a National Financing institution gives notice, it should be considered truth.Once this happened, I took the best approach to protect my business with no regard to your new contract since we were wrongly attacked and punished for following ******* law as required as a certified contractor under FS489.
After seeing what you have done and included me on in confronting ****************** along with their lack of response has proven that we were pitched against each other with no wrongdoing by either of us. It seems our recommendation for you to use a different bank on this new solar addition has resulted in an unlawful backlash against my company using you unknowingly as the reason. Their rules require us not to work this out with you directly, which could of hid this unwarranted claim against us.
We want a relationship with our customers to better service and service our warranties that our customers depend on and have faith in us honoring. I apologize that this has created confusion and a temporary strain on our contractor/customer relationship, but I do look forward to commencing this additional work on your system. I also appreciate your openness and help to find out why this happened to us by an unregulated Dividend. I do not believe anything positive will come of this for either of us from ******************. ******* and its government allow these lenders operate in ******* governed by CA and ** law not ******** laws, this allows them to manipulate and ***** consumers for millions of dollars a month while incentivizing contractors to violate ******* law both directly and indirectly.
Our positive take will be that we will get past this, and you received the best lending options from us because we do not allow these lenders who operate in ******* governed by CA and ** law to manipulate us or force us to compromise our integrity.
