May 22, 2025 $97.85 Committed to provide an oil change with a windshield wiper blade change. To repair the damage done to the windshield wiper motor that was working as it should right before this transaction took place without having to pay for something they caused. The business has offered a diagnostic for $100 to see what the issue is and further charges for a possible fix. They do not want to take accountability for their mistake. Originally came in for an oil change and they advertised a less inexpensive promotion of a oil change along with a windshield wiper change that I never needed because windshield wiper was working fine, however I took the promotion to get a better pricing for an oil change.Initial Complaint

I had our 2017 Ram 2500 towed to AutoNation Toyota Ft Myers on May 29th for repair using an AutoNation Powertrain warranty that I thought I had. The repair: broken u-joint and fluid leak. The claim was denied, but I decided to keep the truck their for repair since I had already spent $260 to have it towed and Toyota didn't tell me that they were unable to fix the issue.the u-joint ws repaired and the transmission pan was fixed. However, I was told that there was still a fluid issue and it was recommended that I take it to a transmission shop or Ram for further diagnosis. The total $2240.45. The transmission shop called immediately upon inspection and said that the transmission house/case was completely cracked all the way around which was the reason for the leak. They said that this was a visible repair if correctly inspected, but it was dripping into the transmission pan which is why Toyota thought that was the issue. He said that I paid for repair that wasn't needed as the truck was clearly misdiagnosed. I called Toyota to express concerns and was told that they would have had no way of knowing because Toyota doesn't have diesels. A broken transmission case has nothing to do with it being a diesel. If Toyota couldn't accurately diagnose and fix the truck, then they should have told me that from the beginning. In addition, the mult-point inspection also indiates that all fluids were checked and full, yet the coolant level was low and there wasn't any washer fluid because the reseviour is broken. This makes me believe that the truck wasn't thoroughly inspected or these things would have been known. It also marked that the transmission fluid was good, yet it was leaking steadily and completely out of transmission fluid from the time we picked it up and took it to the transmission shop.Initial Complaint

I bought my vehicle for 14k from AutoNation Toyota. Dealership stated car was drive off the lot ready. The vehicle was not. The A/C was broke. They promised to fix the vehicle upon returning me, the vehicle ** was not only working but the hood of the car was coming up. They proceeded to keep my vehicle for an entire month. Threatened me they were going to cancel the plate on the loaner which I was waiting to hear back from the dealership when they could drop my car off back to me. They returned my vehicle yesterday only to find that the ** still is not working and the hood still shaking. I have contacted corporate, the general manager, as well as the service manager. They had my vehicle during the cooling off period I dont want this vehicle any longer as it is a liabilityBusiness Response

I purchased a car from Autonation Toyota of Fort Myers. While sitting down with finance, the guy offered me multiple services such as roadside assistance, extended warranty etc. I declined all those services. However, I'm now finding out that I was charged for all those services. Reasons I think the finance person did this on purpose 1. He made me sign on an iPad and told me what I was signing (as opposed to printing it out and allowing me to read for myself.)2. He did not give me a printout of the paperwork, as I was driving off, my wife reminded me of it, so I went back in and asked for it. 3. He went through the trouble of telling me the price went up due to taxes, dealer fees, tag etc... maybe so i wouldnt question it.4. Normally when you purchase extended warranty, you're provided with your coverages, the name of the company(usually a packet or booklet), I didnt receive any of that. The reason I found out is because, i randomly decided to go through the packet again, I saw a charge of my $1977 for that I didn't understand. So I decided toBusiness Response

I am rejecting this response because:
It just says the business will look into it. I already canceled the warranty with the company but I am not getting a full refund because it passed the 30 days. I dont feel like I should get charged at all since I didnt ask for this to begin with.
Sincerely,

Sold us a car without disclosing recurrent issues. Car repeatedly has misfire in cylinder#1. Has been in shop twice, yet Autonation initially refused to help. Manager ***** **** then offered verbally to give me a credit on another vehicle, was supposed to provide that in writing but he did not. Now he is ghosting me, calls unreturned.Initial Complaint

I went to Autonation Toyota to purchase an accessory for my Toyota truck. It was dividing fence for the bed and is something that is put in and taken out as needed. There is nothing to install from Autonation. I attempted to use a 15% coupon that Autonation mailed me, but I was told that the coupon was invalid because it only covered accessories that they install. This was in spite of the fact that a service requirement from them is not mentioned anywhere on this coupon. The coupon is worth $60.00. I have attached both the coupon and the invoice to this complaint.Business Response

Called above mentioned guest on 5//3 when i was made aware of the confusion of the usage of the coupon. I left a detailed voice message, sent an email to the email on file, apologizing for any and all confusion and let guest know at that time that i processed a credit in the amount of $63.90 to reflect amount of the coupon. There was no response from guest.

On 03/5/2025 I went to Toyota to get a a car front there , they made a deal with us and brought us the papers to sign, we signed for an interest rate of around 4.87 . Since this was what we agreed on, I signed. As soon we get the first bill I notice they changed the interest rate dramatically. These people are liars , and frauds, the finance guy that wrote everything up was fired. We went to the dealership they did not want to negotiate, they treated us like straight ****, and told us we are stuck as they falsified information using my signature.Business Response
Date: 04/09/2025
we did NOT change the interest rate after. the interest rate is the same on every document she signed from the start. we showed her that and agreed to take the vehicle back when she was still upset. this matter is closed.Initial Complaint

Purchased and paid cash in the amount of *********, including all due sales tax and fees for the State of Minnesota on Dec 18, 2024, provided proof of insurance at the time of sale. No title was received. Dealer unresponsive. The third-party for title transfer is AutoPoint ************. Shows all appropriate forms are generated, the deal number, and the *** location in ********* (***, ************************************* ************), which has been identified to process title work. *** *** has no record of the transaction or of receiving the documents, which would have come by Fed EX or similar. Called Auto Nation of ***** (******), where the vehicle originated. They were abrupt and not helpful. Although I did sign a purchase agreement on December 10, 2024, prior to the vehicle arriving at ****** or Fort Myers AutoNation, the vehicle with the exact VIN showed up for sale on the AutoNation Fort Myers website, leading me to believe they have the MSO.Because ownership has not been transferred, we do not have ownership. Since a third party(me) cannot insure something they do not own, the car cannot be driven. This has prevented us from selling our previous car. This may be a fraudulent scheme to manipulate Dealer Floor planning by taking cash from a customer and delaying paying off the car from the Floorplan Line of Credit with Autonation's Floorplan provider, most Likely Toyota Financial.Initial Complaint

We purchased a Toyota Rav 4 in February of 2023. Within the first year, we were complaining of paint chips down to the metal all over the car. We took the car all the way back down to the dealership in Fort Myers with no resolution, which began another year plus trying to get resolution. We now have 150 plus paint chips out of the side of the car they say must be "impact" chips (in other words, it's something we must be doing) because they have no other similar complaints about this make and model. We've explained that the car isn't driven much at all on the highway, or behind large trucks, and not at all off-road. We've even pointed out that the supposed "impacts" are not even on the bumper or front end where you'd expect them, but on the doors, top of the hood, etc. What's more, we've shown them pictures of pinhead size bubbles in the paint that later on flake off. We have contacted them multiple times. have email threads, taken videos, copied Toyota corporate, were told if we brought the car to the Ft Myers dealership and left it for the day the visiting factory *** would look at it. We asked if he would call us afterward so we could talk to him, (we live an hour and a half away) so we spent 6 hours on the road that day and never even got a phone call. We have had it looked at by an independent paint specialist who said that should never happen to a new car. We also talked to another Toyota dealership who said that Toyota would do nothing unless they get multiple complaints. We just wanted a car that would last and at this rate, it will lose its value and be rusted through quickly. We've done everything we can to get the situation resolved, but are given no recourse, other than to be satisfied with their explanation that it can't be a defect in the paint/painting process because "no one else is making this complaint".Business Response

The Toyota representative did inspect this vehicle and would not authorize any warranty repairs. as an independent dealer, our hands are tied as to what we can submit to the manufacturer for warranty consideration and payment of repairs. The customer and owner of this vehicle needs to continue to communicate with Toyota Corporate.Initial Complaint
