On Dec. 26, 2022 I called Gulf Shore Cooling about a no heat problem. They sent a repair person that didnt diagnose anything but just started replacing parts in the hopes it was the problem- all electrical parts that should have been tested before replacing. In addition, these three parts with labor totaled $987.00 without calling and asking me for my approval. They had my cell phone number and credit card info. The employee called me to inform me that the unit was running and the charge on my card will be $987.00! I said I was shocked at the bill amount and more shocked that 3 expensive electrical parts would all go out at the same time in a newer A/C unit and even more shocked that he didnt call first. He agreed and said he could take his parts back out and I would only get a bill for the service call. I told him to take his parts back and I will get somebody else that isnt just a parts changer. He took his parts out and dumped my parts back inside the unit but didnt put mine back in at all and left a bunch of loose wires hanging inside. Then the bill for the service call had an additional Fuel Surcharge of $15.00. This employee had racked up a $987.00 bill in 45 minutes at my property and probably does 8 to 12 service calls a day (per their phone agent) so the fuel surcharges would be more in one day than the gas that truck could use in 2 weeks. That is not even anywhere near a Surcharge but it kind of explains this companys greed and policy of overcharging for the little parts they stock on their trucks. My parts should have been put back the way they were without cut off loose wires hanging.

Thank you **************- We value your feedback & I appreciate you taking the time out of your day to talk with me. Low voltage electrical shorts can take out numerous components in the system, unfortunately since you were not on-site during our visit It was hard to relay this to you. I believe this was a communication issue more than anything. We will take this as a learning opportunity moving forward & will use your valued feedback to grow. I am glad we were able to come to a resolution & that you are happy with the end result.

I was charged $239.00 on 08/15/2022 to clear a clogged drain line from a newly installed HVAC unit in my condominium. Attached is a copy of Invoice #XXXXXX which includes the following charges: $15.00 Fuel Surcharge $125.00 Flush clogged drain line $99.00 Diagnostic Fee (includes travel time) $239.00 Total charge This HVAC unit with an air scrubber was installed in my condominium unit on January 6, 2022 by Gulf Shore Cooling (the total charge being $7,814.00). The condominium was unoccupied until July 15, 2022 when I moved into the condominium. Between January 6, 2022 and July 15, 2022 the HVAC unit was used only when workers were present at the condominium to replace rugs, paint, install ceiling fans, and to complete other minor repairs. My condominium unit had been occupied and the HVAC system regularly used for less than a month when the HVAC drain became clogged and water overflowed covering the furnace and flooring. The Gulf Shore Cooling Technician who flushed the clogged HVAC drain line said that he had to use nitrogen to clear the line because of calcium buildup. It takes time for calcium to build up to the point that a drain line is plugged. When the HVAC unit was installed on January 6, 2022, my understanding is that the Technician should have-particularly because this is an older condominium unitflushed the HVAC drain line using nitrogen to ensure that all calcium or sludge present at that time was removed. I informed Gulf Shore Cooling by email of my opinion that this was not done by the Technician when the HVAC unit was installed. No response was received. This $239.00 charge is not warranted. A $15.00 Fuel Surcharge and a charge of $99.00 Diagnostic Fee (which includes travel time) is not justified for a HVAC unit under warranty. I was required to contact Gulf Shore Cooling because the HVAC unit was under warranty. I am requesting a refund.

I installed the ac thru the Gulf Shore Cooling, Inc. in the apt in October 2020. 1. In June 2021 I got the Notice of Violation from the city of Fort Myers, that AC was installed without permits. The complain # XXXXXXPXXXXXB107B. At the installation time the window was broken and still not fixed by the reps. After my conversation with Department of license, they promised to fix the violation asap , but nothing is done so far. They scheduled an appointment with my tenant and never was there. Why the AC was installed without licenses? 2. On 07/23 the AC stop working completely. I have 10 years warranty. After they fix the AC I got a bill for $224. Without asking, any notification, which is illegally. The drain stopper should be installed at the installation day. I cant trust that compony and will contact the department of license of Florida as well. AS of now I have on dispute the payment for AC, which was done thru Home dEpot and using Home Depot credit card.

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2021/07/27) */ Contact Name and Title: Gary W. Contact Phone: XXXXXXXXXX Contact Email: ****@gulfshorecooling.com ***** ********* is the owner of the property and lives in New York. We have scheduled an inspection with the tenant 3 times and the tenant did not allow the inspector through the gated area. This is why she received the letter from the City of Fort Myers. Our Permit Number is TRD-XXXXXX-XXXX. We were out last Sunday and found the drain line plugged due to a lack of maintenance. The $ 224 was our price to clean the system which was refused by the owner. The only cost that was paid was the $ 99 Sunday Service Call Charge. Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2021/07/27) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) THe tenant was in the apt waiting for you and nobody showed up. YOu never requested the appointment. YOu have not correct info. For the ac fix - I have insurance. Also at the installation you should put the stopper to prevent the situation.y Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2021/07/30) */ The information we have is given to us directly from the inspectors who could not gain access. We have to assume they are giving us the facts ? We will be glad to refund the $ 99.00 service call to the home owner so they are not out of pocket any money. However the tenant must give the inspector access to close out this permit or the home owner will continue to receive letters from the City of Fort Myers Building Department. Also we recommend a maintenance on this system right away. If not the drain will be an issue. Consumer Response /* (3000, 11, 2021/07/30) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) --When you schedule an appointment , you should notify the tenant. He is responsible. The window your reps broke at the installation time is still broken. I have insurance, so you cant charge me. If something need to be paid, you should contact me and verify the charge, not just do and charge whatever you want. Business Response /* (4000, 13, 2021/08/04) */ The last 3 appointments were scheduled with the Tenant but we will call the tenant again today and schedule again. If you can mail or email us a copy of the invoice where you had the broken glass repaired we will mail you a check for any cost you incurred. We recommend you call an AC contractor of your choice to clean the system which has not been properly maintained. We will also refund the $ 99 service charge with the check for the glass. Business Response /* (4000, 16, 2021/08/09) */ Inspection was completed on residence Aug. 6 and the inspector passed the installation and signed off on the job. Consumer Response /* (3000, 18, 2021/08/10) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) The violation aws fixed, thank you. However the window was broken during the installation and not fixed yet. Pls complete the fix for all issues, done during the AC installation.
