Hello,On 8/13/2024, I received a complimentary Hawaii Vacation and I was charged $384.75 for the processing fees and taxes. This is for a FREE Hawaii Vacation for 5 nights and 6 days. The promo is valued at up to $1845. Not sure how this is a complementary vacation if the payment is going through as a Monster Reservation Groupon. As I proceeded to book the rooms with ************** in ********, ** - It only allowed me to book for 3 nights. I looked at **************'s website to confirm availability and they had the 5 nights/6 days available through their website with a total of $942.01 for the entire week. Why is Redeem Vacations aka Monsters Reservation Groupon stating this is a FREE COMPLIMENTARY VACATION when this company charges fees and taxes, and then you have to pay the taxes at the hotel again? Double fees. Major SCAM!!!Business Response

On February 8th, 2023, I paid to activate the ********* vacation with a sum of $99.72. On May 29th, 2024 I paid an additional fee of $130.74 to book the *************************** for the dates of August 2nd- August 5th 2024. On July 20th, 2024, I received a text asking to confirm the reservation to which I replied yes. I got a response stating that my reservation was confirmed on the same day. When we arrived to the hotel on August 2nd, they concierge stated that they did not our reservation under my name or under my friend's name whom the reservation was under. We both contacted redeem vacations via their customer care website for which we did not receive any response till 8/12/2024. - Thank you for your help and please let me know if you need any other information for this processBusiness Response

In April, I purchased a vacation package for the Grand Canyon through HiBid. The Company website provided minimal information, merely stating that "additional fees may apply." There was no mention of limited availability, requirements for booking 30 days in advance, or that weekends incur extra charges. When I attempted to activate the package, I was presented with an offer to add an additional Cancun package for approximately $135. Curious to learn more, I clicked "yes," expecting to be taken to a page detailing the payment confirmation, terms and conditions, and hotel options. Instead, I was immediately charged without any confirmation or additional information. I did not intend to finalize this purchase without reviewing the terms. Despite my reservations, I decided to try to make the most of this situation. However, I encountered persistent issues with availability that severely limited my ability to use the packages as intended:Grand Canyon Package: Not a single date was available during the summer months, which are the only times my spouse and I can travel due to school commitments. This made it impossible for us to utilize the package.Las Vegas Switch: I accepted an offer to switch to a ********* trip with a $500 hotel savings card. Unfortunately, the card provided minimal value, offering only about $80 off a hotel, leaving me with a $300 out-of-pocket cost. Attempts to apply the savings card to activities were futile, as no results were found for any date on the activities listed that I was interested in. -- False advertising. The company has taken my money under misleading circumstances and provided little to no value in return. I urge redeem vacations to improve their booking system to ensure transparency and better customer service, allowing consumers to make informed decisions.Business Response

We received a "free" travel voucher for up to 5 nights ******. In order to activate the offer we paid ****** USD in fees and taxes. The website advertised with 5 star resorts in ******, so this seemed like a good deal despite not being able to see the final hotel or available dates beforehand. After all we are flexible and the website advertised we would be able to book our stay anytime within the next 18 months. However, once activated, the available offers were nothing like advertised. There were only mid-range segment hotels available. The maximum time range for the booking was 6 months in advance, not 18 months as advertised. None of the hotels was available without additional surcharge for the promised five night stay. Not a single 5 star hotel was available within the 6 months time range. Not even for a surcharge. No matter the dates. The advance fee was collected under false premises and the advertised benefits were not offered. This seems like false advertisement and customer deception. As no service was provided and the advertisements are misleading at best and fraudulent at worst, I hereby ask for an immediate refund.Business Response

I purchased an e-book that came with a 3day stay to destination of my choice at a 4-5 star hotel. I just had to pay taxes/fees. Once purchased I soon realized that the 4/5 star hotels were rundown motels and reached to them. They said new hotels are posted often, so I waited but nothing changed. I disputed the charge with my bank, however they sent my bank documents stating that they would issue me a refund themselves if dispute was resolved in their favor, so it my bank resolved it in their favor. This was in February 2024. I have reached out to them twice in March and once in May about the refund and still have not received one. And they have discontinued my access to the voucher so I cant even use it. They keep saying their financial department is reviewing everything but this does not take 5 months. They are scammers and I want my money.Business Response

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. The merchant did reach out to me and issued a full refund after letting me know that the refund request never reached the proper channels or department and also asked that I remove my negative review. However, it will remain because the fact is that it took 5+ months, multiple conversations, 2 disputes, and me leaving a BBB review before the refund was initiated. Thats not customer satisfaction.
Sincerely,

Won a 3 ***** ******** ***** stay. Was told had to login and set up account within 10 days. At that time will have to only pay the sales tax of the 3 night stay. What they don't tell you is that you have to pay that fee before even knowing what "luxury" *****s you have to choose from. After making the payment went out to the calendar there was hardly any dates to choose from. Carious as to what they think is luxury and the only 3 *****s that come back are basically ran down ***** *****s. I mean a Super 8 is not a luxury *****. I have emailed Redeem Vacations more than once to let them know how much of a scam this is and I want my money back but like everyone else that has made a compliant I have had NO contact whatsoever. The next time I sit through another Time Share and they say you will get a 3-7 night free vacation I'm going to let them know to keep it because it's all bogus.Business Response

My husband and I made a $50 donation to a dance company that made us eligible for a Redeem Vacations voucher. My husband received an email saying that our voucher was available and "click here to see available dates". Once he clicked that, a 10 minute timer began instructing us to pay $197.13 in taxes and fees in order to activate the voucher or it would be lost. We had already paid $50 and so we decided to just pay this so to not waste the $50. Once we paid this (which was very expensive for taxes and fees, much more than we were expecting) we were THEN able to see the dates available. The entire summer had no available dates, and there was very little availability in other non-summer months as well. It is clear that the least desirable times to go to this destination (*********) and thus likely the least expensive are the times Redeem Vacations allows you to go. Additionally, for every weekend date, there is an additional $59 upcharge per night. I doubt the hotels they offer even cost $250 at the times of years they are offering, yet that is what we paid. I am a teacher, and there is not a single date available that I can actually make work with my teaching schedule. Every school break is blacked out. I contacted customer support and they told me to keep looking at the calendar as it updates. I looked and it did update, now there were less dates available, none in September or October when previously there were some. My husband and I will not be able to attend this vacation. It is extremely dishonest that you have to pay $200 before you see the available dates. We never would have spent that money if we had seen the dates because we would have known we cannot even attend. Additionally, I started the process of booking a hotel just to see what it was like, and some dates (non-weekend) it cost additional money just to actually book a room in the only hotel they are offering. So many ridiculous extra fees, with no information beforehand.Business Response

On May 5th, 2024 at 2:30pm, VacationRedeem charged me $384.75 for complimentary ************ within 18 months of travel. I did not remember choosing this offer to pay $384.75 but I have had received couple email offers from this RedeemVacations. While I called them multiple times right after getting this charge of $384.75, they kept on requesting me choose a reservation date for 5 nights to ******. I kept on telling them I need the refund as I did not authorized or remember using my card to this Hawaii stay. They denied to refund me and stop responding my email.Business Response

I was deceived by the company, it states all you have to do is pay taxes and you will get a 3 night luxury hotel stay. It was only two hotels available and they arent luxury, they also have recent reviews of causing health issues for people and complaints of being dirty and dated. I refuse to risk my health and safety staying at one of this hotelsBusiness Response
