******* was the WORST helping me to rent a car, she was rude, disrespectful and racist! Yes racist! She denied me the service even when I have everything! I left and went to ****, and the customer service was AMAZING! The guy helped me, respect me and even got a better deal than Thrifty! Don’t waste your time and money, go straight to ****! And go with this amazing gentleman called ****! The best!

Stay away from this company! Quoted a price online and checked in online. When I went to the counter to pick up my vehicle in Florida, I was forced to pay for additional insurance and fees. My bill was more than double after I talked the person at the counter down two hundred dollars. No matter how many times I said what my online confirmation price was, she would not let me get the car without the extra insurance I didn't want or need. Sickening that they operate this way!

Rented a car in Seattle. Within the first day we noticed a large screw that was imbedded. Clearly been there a while because the head was worn down and looked like it had been there a while (suv had almost 10k miles when we rented). We were out of cell phone reception and attempted to plug the tire. We were losing air pressure and it worked for a day. Put on spare. Next day we Tried to fix the tire so we would have a spare. Key to lower spare wouldn’t work. day we are back in cell range. Called Thrifty. She told us to go to the airport thrifty and get them to replace the vehicle. No case number given. Got to the window and told they have to have a case number. Had to call customer service back just so the guy at the window if the airport thrifty could help us. Two days of dealing with a tire and we are faced with the charge of replacing the tire, getting charged for bringing the vehicle back without putting a full tank of gas, and whatever else they can hit us with. By the way I purchased the rental car insurance to supplement my insurance. Thrifty never considered it. Won’t be renting from this company or its affiliates again. NOT CUSTOMER FRIENDLY!

I booked a “Wild Car” deal through Expedia, which promised a surprise vehicle at a good rate. What I got instead was a frustrating and borderline deceptive experience. When I arrived at the Thrifty counter, the agent asked where I was headed. I mentioned we were driving to a lodge in a national park, and he immediately responded with, “Oh, that’s unfortunate,” before revealing that the car I was assigned was an all-electric vehicle. Nowhere during the booking process did it mention electric vehicles were even a possibility. Since there were no charging stations available at our destination, I was told I had to “upgrade” to a hybrid car—at nearly the same cost as the original booking. So essentially, I paid double what I had agreed to through Expedia. The agent tried to spin this as a bonus, saying I’d make the money back in fuel savings. Spoiler: I didn’t. When we got to the garage to pick up the upgraded vehicle, it wouldn’t start due to an error message. A staff member tried to fix it, failed, and reassigned us to a different car—not a hybrid, just a regular gas-powered vehicle. We didn’t realize until we were already on the highway that the gas tank was nearly empty. We had to immediately stop and put $40 of fuel in. When I called to complain, I was told it was my fault—because once the car leaves the garage, it’s mine, no matter the issues. Absolutely no accountability. This was an awful experience. I will never rent from Thrifty again, and I wouldn’t recommend booking through Expedia either. Neither company stood by what I paid for. Total bait-and-switch.

Horrendous. They canceled my car reservation that was made three months in advance with only weeks before my trip. Then they claimed that I had canceled it (I absolutely did not) and then wanted to charge me 20 TIMES the reserved rate. They tried to tell me also that I had reserved the car at a much higher rate even though I had the proof of my reservation and rate. They were rude and provided pretty much the worst customer service I have ever encountered.

They charged me a second time instead of refunding my deposit, and then they lied to me and said they never charged my card the first time. They ended up charging me $1500 for a 3 day car rental and then lied about it. I had to get Thrifty customer service on a three way call so the bank could prove to them that they overcharged me. They then refused to call the bank to release my deposit. I will be pursing legal action. This company is deplorable and they are stealing from hard working people!

DO NOT — I REPEAT — DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY. THEY ROBBED ME. I booked a one-day car rental through Expedia and was supposed to pay at the counter. When I arrived, the Thrifty agent — who was incredibly not helpful giving proper explanation — charged me $135 for the day. Fine. I returned the car early, nearly an hour before the agreed return time. Then two days later, I get a receipt showing they charged me $393. I was stunned. No explanation, no justification — just an outrageous charge. I immediately filed a complaint with Expedia. Thrifty responded saying they'd issue a refund. But here's what these scammers actually did: they charged me another $393 and refunded the first $393. So instead of refunding the difference or correcting the overcharge, they just doubled it. They had told me they'd refund $260, and instead I ended up being charged $786 for what was supposed to be a $135 one-day rental. This is not a mistake — this is straight-up theft. A complete scam. I feel absolutely violated and furious. Thrifty, you are a disgrace. This is fraudulent behavior and you should be held accountable. DO NOT rent a car from Thrifty. They will overcharge you, lie about fixing it, and leave you fighting for your money. I will never use this company again — and I’ll make sure everyone I know avoids them too.

Absolutely garbage. Book with Expedia for $333. They email me to check in for my trip. Everything is fine until they ask me for my flight info. I’m arriving 4 hours before my reservation time I made several months ago. They change the booking $727
For 4 hours difference with no warning. Call to have them change it back. They do but no change in rate. Expedia or Thrifty is no help.

I did a rental from Thrifty Car Rental at MCO Orlando Airport. This rental was prepaid with Bank of America with points and cash. As I was checking out, I was never asked about any other options, I was just told to put my initials. When returning the car, I noticed how Liability insurance was added without my knowledge, and I was charged $140.57. I told the lady at checkout when getting rental that I did not need insurance because I already have and she added it to my account without my knowledge. I have sent several messages and also a message has been sent to the manager. I cannot get anyone to contact me back about this situation.

I had a contract for an amount, paid it, and they charged me over double when I dropped off the vehicle. They even charged me a late fee when on the receipt it shows i brought it back on time. Horrible business.
