      My husband and I paid for first class tickets and the plane we flew did not have first class. We have been seeking reimbursement for the past 2 years and always given the run around.

      On the app it says u need to call because yall changed my itinerary but no one answers . These tickets are Non refundable and this issue isn't my fault.ive submitted a ticket through avianca and they just tell me to call....amd no one answers????

      The following occurred at Avianca Gates at El Dorado Airport in Bogota Colombia. The robbery occurred in the 15min between the completion of my extra search and the departure of the plane. Approx 633am643am. The security woman outside the plane doors has light eyes red hair taller and heavy set woman and a shorter dark haired security woman took my luggage right outside the plane. I asked the plane attendants to please allow me to take my phone out of the carryon that they told me could not come with me inside the plane. These woman watched They were incredibly aggressive and intimidating they watched over me and they saw I opened my bag on the floor in front of them. They saw the contents of the black VS bag which is the exact stolen item out of my bag. The bag held my jewelry within my underwear so it should have been safe. That is when the red hair woman took the bag back from me and I walked back into the plane doors and we departed only a few minutes after that. The robbery on behalf of Avianca security short amount of time because I had all my belongings during the extra search that was conducted and completed less than 5min before. The items went missing when the luggage was in their possession during the transfer of my bag to the undercarriage. The damage done to the bag is not normal as no other bags got to JFK in such a condition. The destruction of the carry on had to have been in that same moment of the robbery and orchestrated by the people. The security saw my belongings right before my entry to the plane. This is all after I requested information on travelers rights after my **** security screening was already complete. I requested english instructions, the woman doing the search Paula Mora laughed at my concern and said she does not speak english. I would like to note American passengers seated in front of us in 3B and 3C also dealt with Avianca security trying to confiscate fishing poles that were already cleared by TSA

      I am deeply saddened by the mistreatment I encountered during a second security clearance at an international airport while traveling with Avianca. As a person with a physical disability, accompanied by my 15-year-old service animal, I expected better care and understanding.The security teams inability to communicate effectively in the native language compounded my distress. Despite my efforts to explain, they held me back from boarding my flight to America. This left me vulnerable, anxious, and isolated, especially as I was traveling alone and dependent on my service animal.Such mistreatment is inexcusable, particularly towards a disabled individual who is already navigating significant challenges. This experience fell far short of the expected behavior from an international airline, which should prioritize the dignity and well-being of all passengers.I implore Avianca to take this matter seriously, reevaluate their security personnels training, and ensure passengers are treated with respect and compassion. No one should endure such treatment while traveling. Avianca must strive to prevent such incidents in the future and support passengers, regardless of their circumstances.

      This airline is in reality another Scam! Today we had the worst experience we ever had with an airline in our life.If you are reading this Review keep in mind that you have so many other options, there are better airlines that have nothing to do with the worst airlines we ever encounter, which is Avianca Airlines.

      This airline has become a corporate, greedy, vacuum. They take your money and provide absolutely minimum in return. My wife made a mistake and changed our flight when she was supposed to purchase an additional flight. Less than 48 hours later (mistake wasn't realized until at the 29 hr mark), we called an talked over 2 hours trying to speak with someone that could help us do something. The only responses we were told were robot-like and from scripts acting like they understood and cared but they couldn't do anything unless we paid more money (we already paid 200 per person to change the flight, that was a mistake). We were told a case would be started and we would hear back within 4 days. 4 days later, nothing. We called and they said nothing has happened yet but would be done within 3 hours. 5 hours later we called and got same policy script in response, but now were told we are in queue. Absolutely 0 Customer Service. They should answer "hello, policy enforcing department. What policy would you like me to read and enforce to you?" POLICYS ARE NOT WRITTEN IN STONES. They can be broken depending on the situation.

      I was overcharged for a change in flight in July 2023 for 2 tickets from *** to ***. They charged me $500 more than what I agreed to on the phone. I wish I would have read these reviews before I booked flights with Avianca. I feel that they are a scam and I will not ever be flying with them again, and hopefully I can save some others from making the same mistake.

      This airline is a scam! Today I had the worst experience I have ever had with an airline. My grandmother who is disabled and doesnt speak English had the worst experience while awaiting to board her connecting flight in ***, she was told that she had to pay once again for her luggage otherwise the luggage would be left behind. We had already paid for the luggage here in ******* and we had heard of horrible stories with them and so we did everything by possible to avoid any issues but even that was not enough. We had heard of how bad this airline is and so my brother attempted to pay for the bags through them and was unable to, my brother ended up starting a ticket because the website was not working and it kept giving him an error message when he would try to pay and was told and agent would reach before he flight departed which was a day before the flight and her flight already department and we have yet to hear from them. We got to ******* airport and ended up paying through ****** but when she arrived at *** an avianca rep told her no you need to pay us or your bags will stay here, She doesnt have any money or card to pay and we were told that they would bring a supervisor to help and the supervisor was no help they basically said you guys have to be here in person to pay or you need to deal with ******, when in our mind they should be the ones helping us relieve the stressed caused by them and talk to ****** to see why the bags dont show paid. My brother ended up having to contact ****** to resolve the issue and ****** was very prompt and provided us with the proof that the bags were paid and they finally let her board her flight after about an hour of trying to resolve the issue. Worst Customer experience ever on top of their charge for bags being super expensive we ended up paying about $300 just for bags. I would someone to do something about it because by the looks of it they take advantage of people that wont be able to say anything!

      Poor customer service, uncomfortable seats jammed packed together with very little leg room. I had an Avianca member threatening to call the police over the fact that my bag could not fit under my seat and I wanted to put overhead. There was plenty of storage room the man likes to yell at people in Spanish. He yelled at an older man in Spanish and I think he thinks that because he was speaking Spanish that we would not have the ability to write a review.

      AVOID FLYING WITH THEM - THEY ARE THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE ON THE PLANET. We bought a ticket from ****** to Costa Rica and were trying to change from ****** to ***** and they told ** we would have to PAY MONEY TO CANCEL a flight!!!!We called 9 times after being told again and again that there is nothing they can do. And yet after all those calls and times, we could not get a single person to help **. So we tried to just buy another flight and say forget the money we wasted on the first flight tickets (from ****** to Costa Rica), but the system literally wouldn't let **. So again we called and called and called and got hung up on, got no help, and got no support. We spent 10 hours talking to these stupid customer service reps and they did nothing helpful for us at all. What an a nightmare this company is. The absolute worst customer service we have ever experienced.
