    I signed up for HTL because I am going through a divorce and wanted to monitor any recordings on our properties. I was disappointed to find out that a "Notice of Interest" was filed on one of our homes, and I was not notified by HTL. It begs the question: Why am I paying for this service?I was notified of recordings on our other home (which is why I gave 2 stars and not 1); however, it was not a timely notification because HTL relies on the counties to index the recordings before it sends the notification. There was about a one month delay. In hindsight, I would have been better off just calling the County periodically and asking for updates. It's free and would have been more effective and efficient.As far as HTL's offer to provide legal services if title theft occurs, it sounds good; but the proof would be in the pudding. I'm not going to go so far to say this company is a scam without evidence, but it certainly has the whiff of one. Create the fear, then charge for remediating it.

    They were easy to talk to and able to answer all of my questions. I'm skeptical of everyone and everything but these guys are the real deal. I like that they took the time to explain things to me in laymen's terms and aren't quick speaking salespeople. I wish I didn't have to call them but now with all of the fraud, ID theft and other crazy things people do I want to make sure i'm protected. I read some bad reviews on here but I did not receive any negative responses or things that made me feel uneasy. I would recommend anyone that owns property to at least call and get your questions answered.

    Signed up last week and when I was given the results of my title scan I didn't see my wife's name on the title. I called Home Title Lock and they helped me resolve the issue with the county. Keeping this service!

    called (unsolicited) and left me a message saying I'd signed up -- I have NOT signed up with them. this is a SCAM and probably FRAUD.;

    Its clearly taking advantage of older people or anyone who doesnt know and believes its what the company claims. Its another bunch of con men newt, and rich old men getting richer off honest people who want to feel secure. What a shame and how criminal. Its terrible.

    I just canceled my account with Home Title Lock. First, they did not alert me that my subscription was coming due. I only found out about it when I saw the charge on my credit card. When I emailed them to tell them this, they told me that "we cannot turn off the auto renew as this could cause a lapse in your coverage." What? The auto renew part wasn't the issue, it was that they didn't notify me of the upcoming payment. What if my credit card was canceled and I needed to give them a new one, or maybe I want to pay a different way.Then after this happened, I remembered that two years ago I had recorded two deeds, one to take my mom's name off the title, since she had passed away, and a transfer of death deed, and it occurred to me that they had never notified me that these deeds were recorded against my property. Even though I had initiated them, what if I hadn't and they were fraudulent? My understanding was that if anything recorded on your property, that I would be notified.When I realized this and contacted them to cancel the service, they had no answer for me, and I told them that clearly their service was not working. And after not being notified of my upcoming payment, I decided that this company needs to get its act together and I went with another company.

    I was referred to Home Title Lock by my neighbor who is a customer and highly recommended it. Ive been a customer for over a year now and thought I might be wasting my money on this service. Then to my surprise, I received an alert when I paid off my mortgage! Pleasantly surprised to know the service I thought was a waste of money actually works! Highly recommend!!
