I attended ThriveDX cyber security bootcamp through *********************** in 2021. The price was $15k for 10 months. Let me say for one this course has NOTHING to do with ODU and I am not even sure if ODU is remotely aware of what is going on with this bootcamp. The instructors and lessons were absolutely not worth the price and once the course is over you get zero assistance with anything. A lot of people who attend this bootcamp are desperate for better jobs and are non-traditional students so they are very vulnerable. I got a job in help desk on my own during the bootcamp and this bootcamp has done nothing for me since finishing it. In fact I don't even put it on my resume because it just shows how stupid I am to attend this. I am shocked how there aren't any major law suits against ThriveDX or how they manage to have an A+ rating. They are severely over charging with predatory loans for a program that has a very low success rate. I insist an audit needs to be conducted into this companies finances and the actual success rate of students moving into cyber security from this program, and if the universities even know what is going on with these bootcamps. It seems as if ThriveDX is predatorily using known schools for branding to gain trust with their students. I hope anyone looking into their programs do their research before enrolling and avoid this altogether.

My son was recruited to the program for cybersecurity with them pairing up with NC State. He borrowed 18K to do the boot camp program with which he a 1wk to secure the loan. He has since completed the program. The instructors were fine and he felt supported. But the CompTIA+ initial exam voucher which is included as part of the program has been held up for 2mos now. No answers, no ETA, no reason. He cannot get a job in the field without him obtaining the CompTIA+ exam certificate and now that his loan is coming due he is not going to be able to pay it. This is a terrible business practice and just wrong to keep these students holding on like this. You knew when they were going to complete the program, why weren't vouchers ready and waiting for them. They keep changing who he needs to and can speak to. They make it by appointment only and schedule appointments 2wks out. This is ridiculous. How do they still have an A+ rating with such low customer reviews. This is fraud, the one thing these two students needs to actually complete their goal, you hold from them. Are you in cahoots with the loan holders as well, since he only had one choice for whom to borrow from? Are you hoping he defaults and you guys get a kick back? It's a shame that you pick students who are obviously desperate, non-traditional students and then just leave them in a worse situation than before they started.
