Important information

  • Customer Complaint:
Priority One Clearing Services, Inc. has worked and continues to work with BBB in an effort to reduce its number of complaints.

BBB recommends that prior to contacting BBB if you have any complaints or concern, please contact Priority One's Dawn Daugherty directly at [email protected] or call India Perry or Dawn Daugherty at (727) 443-2200. The company's hours of operation are 9:00 AM-4:00 PM EST, Monday-Friday.

Priority One Clearing Services, Inc. is a processing center for magazine publishers. To explain how this works, a company (not Priority One) sells or generates a customer's order for a magazine subscription. That order is forwarded to Priority One, which processes that customer's information. Priority One then forwards the customer's subscription order to the magazine publisher.

Priority One is not a business that sells or generates new customer magazine orders. According to the business, customers are given Priority One's name by the customer service department of the magazine in order to better assist with their questions. If you contact Priority One prior to filing your complaint, you will be provided the contact information needed in order for you to make contact with the company that started your subscription.

I began receiving a ********************** subscription in my email I never signed up for. When I attempted to cancel this, it said the account is handled by ********************** and needs to be cancelled through them. When I visited Priority One's website, their contact form failed every time I attempted it failed to send. In July I recieved a *************** in the mail that I did not subscribe to. This month I recieved another one and immediately found the number to Forbes and I called them. The representative had me go through the prompts asking my name and such. I informed the representative that I did not subscribe to any magazines. She told me it was a third party company who used my information for the subscriptions. She then gave me the name and number of this company Priority One Clearing Services. She canceled the subscription immediately after finding out that the subscriptions wasn't legit.

I receive a magazine from Billboard. I called them asking why they sent me it. They said the third party sent me up for it and they gave me priority. I started receiving subscriptions first to *************, cancelled it, then started receiving a subscription to **. When I asked ** to cancel my subscription because I never signed up, they referred me to Priority One since they were the people who signed me up. ** gave a phone number and website, when I followed the link to the website, it popped up with a virus warning. Needless to say, I dont feel comfortable emailing them or calling them because of their shady practices. I dont know how it is legal to sign up someone for services they never agreed to, and dont know if there is enough grounds to file a class action lawsuit. Please advise on this issue, thank you.

We are sorry you feel this way but can understand your frustration.  The company did not solicit you for a magazine order, they sent it to you as a promotion to introduce you to it, just as many other direct mail promotions are sent to your mail box.  They are not soliciting for payment, they are merely introducing you to the magazine as an advertisement, just as companies do when sending you ads to your mailbox.  We are sorry this provided any inconvenience, it has been cancelled and will stop after a few more issues.  The mailing labels are pre printed, therefore it cannot stop immediately.  We have also put your name on block, meaning you will not receive any further magazine subscriptions from Priority One Clearing Services.

My son, **** ****** just received three issues of Architectural Digest at my home. The Sept issue arrived 10/7/24 then the Oct and Nov issues both came on 10/16/24. He has not lived here for many years. I called him to ask if he had subscribed to the magazine. He said he had never heard of it and he did not subscribe to it, nor does he want it. Our concern is that there is some sort of fraud going on here. How did his subscription get started? Did someone present his credit card to open a subscription? My zip code is *****. The subscription number is #ARD1787892577/#. After responding to my concern, we want the subscription cancelled and any money that may have been charged fraudulently to his card refunded.
