I was approved to lease an apartment at one of the properties in ************, **. My original move in date was supposed to be 06/09. The apartment on the site had an availability date of 05/31. Two business days before my move in I get an email saying the apartment isn't going to be available, the current tenets hadn't left. If the 5 days are needed for turn over why wouldn't someone communicate with me once its known that the apartment isnt vacant. I get offered another apartment, the floor plan I was offered seemed smaller than what I chose so I declined. I asked management what's the earliest I could move in. I was told Friday. Thursday at 5:20pm I get a call informing me I can't move in until after 4:30 as my apartment wasnt ready. I explained I have my furniture being delivered that day is there a way to speed things up as I wasn't given enough notice to change anything. I was told I could move in at 10:30am. When I arrived at 9:30 I am told I can't move in until after 2:30. As the apartment isn't going to be ready until then. An argument begins as I am upset. I keep getting knee jerk reactions from people who are supposed to be professional. The leasing agent and the concierge are rude and disrespectful. There wasn't an I'm sorry this has inconvenienced you. Merely lame excuses and attempts to blame me for their inept behavior. Since I was initially only given 2 business days to change when my electricity started and other utilities. I wasn't able to stop my electricity service, because by the time the electricity company called me back (the electric company will not allow you to wait on hold) it was the day of my initial move in and the electricity already started, and since I would be moving in the same week I was advised to leave it as is and when I get my bill to call. Is it standard policy for property management to not have an aprt ready at the start of the lease or be rude and unprofessional? If so the unprofessional staff have succeeded in failing
