    On April 30, 2022, I opened a gym membership for my daughter. We explained that we only wanted a 3-month membership, as she is a college student who would be returning to school in August. I was billed $53.16, which I was told included the first month's dues ($31.89), an enrollment fee, and partial annual fee. No membership agreement was ever emailed to us, but we were verbally told that billing takes place on the 30th of each month, and that if we only want to pay for 3 months, then all we needed to do would be to cancel on the 29th of July so that we would not be billed for August. On May 31, I was billed $31.89 as promised. Then on June 29, I was billed $53.17 in addition to the monthly fee of $31.89. I called at that time to ask why I had been billed an additional $53.17, and was told that every member pays this amount after 2 months, as it is the remainder of the annual fee. I was never made aware of this when we enrolled, but they said it was part of the signed member agreement (which I have never seen). During this conversation, I once again inquired about how to cancel and it was confirmed that as long as the cancellation request took place on July 29, we would not be billed for August. On the morning of July 29, 2022, I called to cancel and was told that the club was having "computer issues" and that the request could not be processed. A note was left for the manager. The manager emailed my daughter and they spoke on the phone in the evening of July 29. She was told at that time that they cannot cancel over the phone and that she had to come in person to sign paperwork. They were about to close, so an agreement was made in which my daughter would come in the next morning to sign. When she arrived, she was told she didn't need to sign anything, but that she was all set. The membership was terminated and we wouldn't be billed again. I was then billed another $31.89. I called and was told that she did not cancel in time. I would like reimbursement.
