Travelers Insurance has very bad claims & customer service. I opened a claim when my home was hit by hail and strong winds from multiple tornadoes that were within 1 mile from my home over the past year. The adjuster and manager came out to inspect with the drone, said the hail was not big enough to cause the damage to my roof. They do admit that I had damage to my roof but are not willing to admit it was from the hail we had because their hail report says it was too small. I personally found a report by the national weather service for my neighborhood that clearly shows over the last year, during the time period of my policy that we have had hail/wind that has been a range from half-dollar size, ping pong size, quarter size and Travelers is unwilling to accept this reality. I attempted to speak with a customer service personnel, a claims director, and the consumer affairs department at Travelers and just kept getting sent back to the adjuster and manager. I continuously showed proof that the weather that actually occurred at my home was different than the report they use and yet they still denied and unwilling to approve my claim that should be covered by my policy. I am frustrated because other homes around me covered by other insurances are getting their repairs and yet I am not. Travelers just deny a claim and as a customer you have no ability to dispute the denial of the claim. I faced similar issues when I first signed up and they sent some third party to measure my home square footage, they measured it wrong and increased my premium, I then had to contest this error and had to show proof multiple times by going to my county board to obtain the plot information of my home. They will force unexpected increase in costs constantly and you need to contest and bring proof on ever level to not be over charged. Very unprofessional on every aspect as a consumer and would not recommend to anyone that wants insurance with a company that cares about its customers.

Travelers acknowledged liability for the accident and covered necessary repairs to my Tesla. Despite some initial complications with the rental process, adjustments were made to provide a Tesla rental, which I appreciate. 2. **Bodily Injury**: Following the accident, I underwent medical treatment for neck and back injuries, submitted my medical bills, and received a $5,000 settlement for the injuries, lost wages, and pain. This part of the claim has been satisfactorily resolved. 3. **Battery Issues**: A significant concern remains regarding my Tesla's reduced battery charging capacity after the accident. I provided Travelers with charging logs and Tesla's diagnostics, which clearly show a decline in performance following the collision. Tesla has indicated that the issue could be related to physical or thermal damage caused by the accident. Despite this evidence, your appraiser has refused to acknowledge any connection between the accident and the battery issue. Tesla’s Battery Management System (BMS) may have detected damage post-accident, triggering a limitation on battery performance as a safety measure. The evidence provided points to a direct link between the accident and the battery issue, yet Travelers has continued to deny this claim. 4. **Unresolved Dispute**: I have submitted all relevant documentation to substantiate my claim, including communication from Tesla mechanics, charging history, and diagnostic reports. Travelers’ refusal to address this issue without a valid explanation is both unreasonable and frustrating.

I emailed travelers insurance several times stating I did not want insurance through them when my lending agent referred me to them and I started to set up an account but found that my State Farm would be better. They would not stop the insurance even after I asked because they wanted me to print off something sign it and then scan it back to them. They did not need this to start the process but they are trying to make it difficult for me to terminate this policy that I told them not to start.

We just purchased our home two months ago. This is my fifth home, second time purchasing acreage with a barn. The first home with a barn that I bought in 2016, Travelers asked for the inspection report and required that the barn was inspected. For this home, however, they didn't request nor require any such documents regarding the 100-year-old barn. They were fully aware it is a 100-year-old barn. Now, two months after closing on our home, I get an email from my local agency telling me that Travelers sent them a notice they are terminating our policy in three days due to the condition of the barn. Even though the barn is structurally sound (confirmed by structural engineer), they say the "rust on the roof" (metal roof panels, 100-year-old barn, people don't just paint barn roofs on the regular it's not a house) and the wood siding are in too poor of condition so they're cancelling our entire homeowner's policy. We informed our agent, who informed Traveler's, that we were already in the process of tearing the barn down, but Traveler's doesn't care and will not provide any option to keep the policy or remediation or anything. The notice was dated August 28. I received nothing by mail nor email, nor any notification that there was a new document in the "History" tab in the online portal. Firstly, to give someone TWO WEEKS notice their policy is being terminated is absolutely insane. Secondly, we actually only got THREE DAYS notice because Traveler's couldn't bother actually telling me, my agent did after getting a letter from them by snail-mail. Absolutely ridiculous. Now I have to scramble to find insurance coverage from someone else, and am risking losing my home two months after buying it, based on the condition of an out-building THAT IS BEING REMOVED. Will never use this company again. I will even pass on buying a house in the future, if Travelers was the only choice to insure it.

Horrible company! I recently moved from NJ to PA on 8/23/2024 and after not having a car for over 6 yrs, purchased a new vehicle. I opted for Travelers Auto Insurance because it was the most affordable and paid for the full coverage 6 months policy upfront. When speaking with the initiating rep, they assured me it wouldn't be an issue using my new PA address, while working to transition my NJ license. Unfortunately, the dealerships in PA were saying differently, so I had to switch to a NJ policy. Call Travelers back and the next rep is telling me it can't be done and I would have to cancel the policy. Fine. Cancel it. This is the very next day, mind you, 8/27/2024. I ended up having to go with Progressive, way more expensive, but it had to be done. Fast forward to today, 9/10/2024 and I have been calling Travelers about my $1500 refund and getting nowhere! Friday they said I should see it Sunday, Monday at the latest. I call today, Tuesday, and they said they put a hold on my refund, per company policy -without telling me- in the event that I decided to renew my policy and the only way to get my refund was to dispute the charge with my bank or wait for a check. DESPITE THE FACT THAT I PAID WITH MY CARD, WHICH IS STILL FINE AND ACTIVE!! Scammers!! Do not waste your time with this company!!!

This insurer kept threatening non-renewal and sending rude letters regarding purely cosmetic, non-insurable issues. Mind you, our home and property is one of the nicer in the neighborhood, so we always have a bucket list of improvements and maintenance. We moved to State Farm with no further harassment.

I was a big fan of Traveler's for my auto insurance when I was the victim of a hit and run. I am thankful they came to my rescue when the other driver was caught but discovered to have no insurance. However, for my housing needs, they cancelled me due to lawn debris during a fence replacement project. The project, which required brush and panel removal, was permitted by the city but was abruptly put on hold when Traveler's conducted a random inspection of my property. Due to the looming cancellation of my policy, I have lost months of progress on the renovation. I have honestly felt held hostage by this company and regret the time and energy I have spent to meet their demands. The irony is that all of the upgrades would have made the property more resistant to fire, but they would hear none of this. Shop elsewhere if you can.

My homeowner's claim was auto-denied by "just a desk adjuster" Lindsay N**** without any review, inspection, or even a verbal conversation. That is pretty illegal. I made a complaint to Traveler's, Josh B***** took over, yet he has no authority over Lindsay or the department she works in, and not only did he do nothing at all to resolve the issue she caused, he also doesn't return phone calls and he sent me 2 emails ridden with pathetic excuses for his lack of ability to perform his job duties. I have since found a new insurance carrier who is a true carrier and not a formality (in other words, I'm insured with a real company who doesn't lie about offering coverage in case a claim happens). I cancelled all my Travelers policies due to being forced to work with the Inept Josh B***** and Untrained Lindsay N****. Dear Travelers, best of luck in your success considering people are now starting to notice your illegal claims and underwriting processes.

Traveler's through ***** bundle. Decided to change our homeowners insurance for a better rate. Sadly had to deal with ***** because Traveler's would not assist because ***** was the go between. We were advised that an inspection would be done of our property. Received a notice of issues to address, uneven roof and woodstove needed inspection. Travelers stated a roof replacement would need to be done. We advised our financial situation was tight and we could hire our own inspection of the roof and would provide feedback. We were advised by our roof inspection that yes the shingles were worn but no leaks of roof and roof would be good for 2 more years. We also had our own inspection of the woodstove and it was ok but had a few issues. We received a cancelation notice and refund check from Travelers my guess because we were not meeting their standards. We were informed by ***** that the refund check was standard practice and if we provide what was required the policy would be updated and the refund check would be void and the policy would be active. We constantly contacted ***** with no response. Left voice messages and emails. We decided to get a loan for the cost of the roof to be replaced $15,500.00. We had the weekend to have the job done and it was, we met the deadline date. We provide proof of cost by email along with before and after pictures and informing we decided to do away with the woodstove. The chimney no longer exists in the pictures. We attempted to contact ***** and Travelers of our situation with no satisfaction. We were still canceled. Sadly this is the way some business treat their customers. Definitely a lack of customer service by both companies. We decided to do all we can to inform others to avoid both ***** and Travelers so that they avoid what happened to us. Sadly no decency and lack of consideration to the customers ??

I was driving on the Interstate when one of their insured 18-wheelers loaded with rebar for freeway construction changed into my lane without looking. I slammed on the brakes but still impacted the truck at about 65 miles per hour. My car was demolished and hurled 30 feet into the retainer wall. The driver stopped about 1000 feet ahead, never came back to see if anyone was injured or needed help, and then lied to the highway patrol, and said that I just rear-ended him, Fortunately, I had a witness, a woman driving behind the truck, who worked for Cal Trans, a state transportation department. Never an apology. The accident occurred in a poor area so a jury trial would have been useless. I had to have three operations, a double disk replacement in my neck, surgery on my lower back, and on my left hand. Also, about 16 MRIs and about 25 cortisone injections, most of which into my spine. My medical bills were around a million dollars. The insurance company and their lawyers know that my lawyer would take 40% off the top, which at a $1.8 million settlement would be $710,000, leaving me with $90,000 for pain and suffering, physical therapy (my back and neck are still not much better and my hand hurts constantly) and any future medical costs. The policy was for $11 million per accident. I have lost close to 2000 hours of work as a result. I now have constant headaches, dizziness, and trouble concentrating. If I need another surgery it will cost upwards of $50,000 and physical therapy costs $100 per hour. And who knows what else I will need for future care. In the end, I will probably wind up owing money with nothing for continued pain and suffering. But I guess insurance companies get away with whatever they can. But tell me why, with a one-star consumer rating, does the BBB give them an A+?
