• Advertising Review:

  In March 2023, BBB contacted GPC Solar Control Window Tinting regarding claims in its advertising. 
  
  Its website and listings at yelp.com and angi.com include multiple references to warranties and guarantees, including, but not limited to:
  "Lifetime Warranty"
  "The work our team does is backed by both satisfaction guarantees and warranties on covered parts and installation."
  "100% installation guarantee..Manufacturer's warranty"
  "At GPC we only carry high quality window film, which has a lifetime warrant from the manufacturer for most of our residential films"
  According to the BBB Code of Advertising, when using the term guarantee or warranty, the advertiser must clearly and conspicuously include a statement that the complete details can be seen prior to sale. These details must disclose any material limitations on the guarantee or warranty. When advertising “lifetime” warranties or guarantees, the advertisement must clearly and conspicuously disclose its intended meaning of the term “lifetime.”  Advertisers should only use “satisfaction guarantee” or similar representations if the seller or manufacturer refunds the full purchase price of the advertised product or service at the consumer's request.  BBB suggested that it provide a link to its terms and if its policy does not include a full refund, that the business consider modifying these statements. The business did not make any adjustments to its claims.
  
  Its website includes multiple benefit claims related to window tinting, including, but not limited to:
  "Automobile window films are made to enhance the appearance, increase performance, and protect your vehicle. We have added ceramic films to give you better heat rejection, enhanced privacy and protection from the harmful UVA and UVB sun rays while safeguarding your car’s interior and increasing your car’s performance."
  "99% reduction in UVA and UVB rays."
  "Window films reject up to 79% of the heat that would otherwise come through your windows, which can result in a savings of one ton of air conditioning for every 100 square feet of glass exposed to sunlight."
  "Strengthens glass, Protects against break-ins, Provides blast protection, Reduces shattering and shards, Defends against vandalism, Reduces 99% UVA and UVB"
  Claims relating to performance, energy savings, safety, efficacy or results for a product or service should be based on recent and competent testing or other objective data.  The business did not provide BBB with any testing that substantiates these claims.
