      ***** ******* of Level Engineering conducted a foundation inspection on April 17, 2025. At the conclusion of the inspection, I requested a report on her findings. She informed me that the cost would be an additional $360 for the report. I paid for the inspection and the report that would follow. Since, I've made a couple of email requests for the report from the engineer. In her last response on May 14, 2025, she stated that she would provide it by the week's end. I have yet to receive it. Simply put, It's been over a month since the inspection and I have not received something for which I've already paid.

      Yesterday, I was contacted via email by the Level Engineering's CEO ***** **** about my refund.  In the email he stipulated that I needed to sign a non-disclosure agreement in order to proceed with the refund amount of $360.00.  The *** essentially prevented me from communicating any negative information about my dealings with Level Engineering, presumably including the BBB.  This is an outrageous requirement to return monies rightfully owed to me.  In light of this, the BBB really should reevaluate their A+ rating.

      Dear Better Business Bureau,

      Thank you for the opportunity to respond to Complaint Case #********. At Level Engineering, we take our customer relationships seriously and are committed to resolving concerns promptly and professionally.

      We were contracted for a foundation inspection, which was completed on April 17, 2025, by one of our engineers. Following the inspection, the client opted to purchase a written report for an additional fee.

      Unfortunately, due to an internal oversight, the report was not delivered within the expected time frame. We take full responsibility for that delay. Prior to the BBB complaint, our Client Relations Team had not received any direct communication or support request, which may have allowed for a quicker resolution.

      As part of our standard resolution process, we typically:
      (1) Reach out to the client to fully understand the situation;
      (2) Determine whether the original work can still be delivered;
      (3) If not, issue a refund agreement;
      (4) And lastly, process the refund.

      On May 30, 2025, our engineer attempted to contact the client to discuss next steps and offer a resolution. That outreach was declined. Despite our continued willingness to provide the completed report or resolve the matter through a brief conversation, the client reiterated that they simply wanted a refund.

      While our policy usually includes a signed refund agreement, we waived that requirement in this case in order to expedite resolution. The full refund has now been processed.

      We are sincerely committed to learning from situations like this and improving how we serve our clients. Although the client chose not to engage in further conversation, we respect that decision and wish them the best.

      Sincerely,
      ***** ****

      I am rejecting this response because: A refund of rightfully owed monies for services not rendered should never be predicated on a complainant's willingness to sign a non-disclosure agreement; it's my right.

      Regards,

      I have not yet received the purported refund.

      Business Response

      Date: 06/30/2025

      Thank you for the opportunity to respond to the complaint.

      Through our approval process, we approved this refund at the beginning of the month, but it did take a little bit of time to collect the clients information to issue the check. As of last Monday, we issued a full refund to the client via check and sent it through standard mail. We regret to hear that it has not yet been received.

      We understand delays can happen with mail, but we would like to respectfully note that the client did not reach out to our office directly by phone or email prior to contacting the BBB again. We always encourage open communication so we can promptly resolve any concerns.

      If the check does not arrive by Friday, we ask that the client please call our office directly so we can promptly issue the refund through an alternative method. We are committed to ensuring this matter is resolved to the clients satisfaction, and continued communication through proper channels will help us do so efficiently.

      Thank you,
      ***** **** P.E.

      Over a year ago, I required a structural engineer to draw some plans for a permit that was required by my city, *********, *******, for an after the fact permit for a room addition and kitchen, that were added to my home before I purchased the house. I hired Level Engineering and one of their local engineers, ****** ************. This has been the worst experience of my life. He takes weeks, even months, to respond to a simple yes/no question. Getting him to finally draw the plans took even longer. I already paid (over $3000) for this, or I would have gone elsewhere long ago. My contractor has been trying to get a hold of him for months now and still nothing. He needs to change the plans, and I have heard nothing for weeks/months. I really wish this company, and this individual, would do their job, they have already been paid. I am being fined $5,000 per day by the city for this violation, and Level Engineering is responsible for most of that (as of right now, I owe at least $400,000 in fines, which there is no way I can pay. This is definitely the worst experience of my life dealing with someone who said they would do a job, and is doing absolutely nothing.

      We appreciate the opportunity to respond to your concerns. Our records show that the work was completed by our engineer over a year ago. We understand you are experiencing issues with the city, but it is important to note that these concerns do not relate to the quality or completion of our work. That being said, we acknowledge the challenges you are facing and are committed to assisting you in addressing these issues.
      This complaint marks the first time we have received communication from you regarding this matter. Our customer service team is available Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., via phone, email, and text. We are dedicated to being responsive and accessible, and we have no records of prior contact from you.
      Upon receiving this complaint, we promptly reached out to our engineer, who contacted you the very same day to discuss the situation. We remain fully committed to supporting you and facilitating any necessary communication with our engineer to help resolve the matter.
      Please do not hesitate to reach out to us directly for further assistance. We are here to help in any way we can.

      This was the first time we have ever heard from this client in over a year.

      We did have the engineer  call immediately. But our work was completed over a year ago. We are still here for customer service help in email, phone and text message to bridge any communication gaps.

      Thank you,

      I am rejecting this response because:

      I cannot seem to get a hold of this company.  Every time I call there is no answer.     The engineer that has supposedly finished the job, is impossible to reach and takes months (no exaggeration) to return a call or text.    My contractor asked for a few changes in the plans and the engineer (****** ************) is unresponsive and not being cooperative at all.
