Two (2) separate contracts were entered into with Freedom Construction in July 2021 and August 2021. The project encompassed the replacement of all windows and four (4) french doors in our home. In excess of 70 phone calls have been made over the past two (2) years to try to bring this project to completion. No calls have been returned since July 2023. We are still waiting for warranty replacements on two (2) windows, punch list items that need completion as a result of their work, damage to our front door, and stucco repairs to the outside of the windows. These folks have proven to be less than reputable. I am not of the illusion that they will ever finish the project. I am looking for compensation for repairs that I have already paid for and will have to pay for in the future to complete the work.

My complaint is about the labor warranty for life. Material began falling off the house in the first year. Since they are based in Grand Junction and I am in Aurora they kept telling me they didn't have a crew available to travel on weekends. In June the owner came to look at the house and never returned my calls since.

On July 29,2022 I gave Freedom Construction a $15,000.00 deposit to replace the vinyl siding and trim on my house. I have a receipt for the deposit.
We have a contractual agreement that describes the work intended and the $ 14,860.00 due upon completion of agreed work to be done.
They verbally said the job would be started on January 5th 2023.
I was never contacted about the work to be started in January.
On January 25,2023 I began a long list of calls I’ve made to find out what’s holding up the job.
I did talk to a gal named *** on January 25th who said she would pass my note on to her superior ***** ****.
I did not get a call back from supervisor.
I repeatedly called Freedom Construction many time but mostly left a message.
I went to the showroom and *** took my message.
Once I was told that materials were in Ohio and needed to be shipped to Denver. Still no contact regarding materials arriving.
I kept getting a run around of excuses like they are busy and backed up or on vacation or sickness in the office.
I began to request a refund if the job isn’t going to get done soon or at least talk to me about what might be holding up the job.
Still no definite responses if any at all.
Recently in the last couple weeks I would get a recording of “ this number is no longer in service” on either phone numbers when I called.
As a senior who wanted a job done and willing to pay for it, this has become very disheartening and stressful.
How can you help me get a refund?
      Thanks, **** *********

Misti R*** asked that approve the release of funds and that my remaining supplies had been purchased and were ready. She would be back the next week to finish backsplash, vent hood, drywall repairs, and few other finishing touches. This was October 10th. She does not return my calls (daily) and went by place of business to find notice from the State of Colorado. They have been paid in full and my project is not complete.

We purchased siding from this company 3/25/2022. One half of payment was made $19,899.00 we have contacted them numerous times they were not truthful in their response. We have not hear from them. We have requested our money back, and they told us it was too late! It has been 19 months they have had our money, that we are paying interest on and still we have NO siding no money back or any response from them!

They said they cannot get product. There was a transportation issue, and couldn’t get help.
We were told one time our Order is in Denver waiting for drivers.
Yes we contacted them every month, asking for updates and no response from them, ever.
last contact was June, we’ve waited 4 months for updated still NO contact from them.  And they told us their supplier was at 60% of needed work force. We have a friend a builder has built 3 homes in this time frame.

Freedom Star did other work for me in 2021 and early 2022. They did a good job and I knew they had been operating in my area for a long time. I had no reason to think another job with them would not be completed. So, in October of 2022 I contracted them to replace my cracked bay window. I was told the whole bay structure needed to be replaced and that made sense to me. The cost was to be $9960.00. I thought that was a bit high as the internet said a new bay should be $5000-$7000. I was assured the product they used was superior, made in America, and would not tend to crack with the movement of my house. I went ahead and gave them the deposit of $4980.00 on 10/19/22. I started calling in the spring of 2023 to see if the window was in. When someone would answer the phone, it was always I'll have to check and call you back. I was never called back. My last call was in early May. I developed some health issues around then and with our hot summer coming, didn't want to do the window until the fall. I called back in September. I could not reach anyone by phone nor were my messages returned. I went to their office on 7/19/23. There was a sign on the door saying "closed due to illness". Another complainant on your site from June of this year said they went by the office and there was a closed sign on the door. I stated in my review that I think Freedom Star has gone out of business and absconded with my money. My response from them is they are not out of business and the office is closed to the public due to illness. From the complaints on your site, this seems to have been going on since 2021. I feel lucky I had the work done that I did. I now just want a refund and be done with them. They are not reliable anymore.

I gave Freedom Construction a deposit of $7,945 for Freedom Star windows last October and was told it would be about February when I would get them. I called in March and was told April. It is now the middle of August and after repeated phone calls and being told it will be two weeks and we’ll call you. They never call back or give a reason for the delay. The house I am buying these for desperately needs the windows. I own the home and the people living there work for me. They were cold and had to board up some of the windows to stay warm last winter and patiently waited for a February install. I can’t let them spend another cold winter. At this point I would like my deposit back so I can hire someone who will do the job.

I am rejecting this response because:

This is no different than the responses I have received since April. But, early in the spring I was told the windows were In Denver and they would receive them soon and they would call me in about two weeks. Now they are saying the don’t even have the windows. Really!

Windows were purchased from Freedom Construction on 11/9/2022. An initial down payment was made of $1392 for the construction and installation of windows in my home. The balance of the agreed price would be payed upon completion of the project. At this point I have not received any windows nor correspondences with the company. I have attempted to contact the company numerous times with no return call/email/text. I have also tried to go to the physical location of the company and there is a closed sign on the door. I do not know what the status is of my order and I am unable to contact the company.

We received a Home Improvement Agreement for work on our house in Delta CO on 9/1/2022 and were told that the work would begin in "about February." In March and April we began to call their phone number for an updated estimate of when the work would begin, but they do not answer the phone or return the calls. The exception is one time when they did call to say that they would call later in the week with an updated estimate. Then they never called again. This has now continued into late May. They have a deposit of ours of $14750.00 and we have nothing.

      Better Business Bureau®:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me for the time being.  However, there if the company does not follow through with what they say they will be doing by the end of August, we will think that is unfair.
