      I put my account in "freeze" mode because I haven't used it in months. I was still charged 120 dollars in the last two months and only now told the "freeze" option is only good for 3 months, which was NEVER mentioned when I initially froze the membership. I spoke to "*******" at the corporate ****** office, who informed me she would not be refunding any of my money, despite what I was or wasn't told by employees at the local salon about the freeze status fees, and she also refused to connect me to her supervisor. This is atrocious customer service. Zero integrity will eventually be the ruin of this company.

      Thank you for taking the time out of your day to let us know about these issues. We apologize for any frustration this may have caused. However, per both the 12 month agreement and the freeze form that you filled out and signed, the freeze terms and conditions state that your membership can only be frozen for 3 months. After the freeze is up the membership activates and begins charging the full amount. Since you didnt use those two months, we will save a credit of 2 months of tanning on your account. When you are *********** customer service and we will activate those months of tan time for you.

      I was not given any paper to sign, and those terms were not shared with me. The associate at the shop verbally told me--when I went in to cancel because I hadn't used the service in several months--that I should freeze the account instead, as it was only five dollars per month. Then she had me sign the electronic pad. If she had told me--and she did not--that I could only freeze for three months, I would have simply cancelled as I intended to do when I entered the shop. This was a mistake on part of At the Beach, and I will not pay for it, nor will I be using the credit. As your records show, I have not used your service in nearly a year, so to charge me when your associate made a mistake, and when I haven't used your service, is outrageously ridiculous and reflects ZERO integrity on part of the business. I have filed a complaint with my bank, as this if fraud.

      This company has terrible customer service and even worse hidden contractual fees. My account was put on hold, they did not notify me that it was being reactivated, then within the same month charged me their 'biannual fee.' I went into the physical location to speak about a refund of at lease the annual fee, but they told me I would have to contact customer service. The woman at the counter gave me a heads up that the business rarely gives refunds and wished me luck. At no point during my in -person conversations did the front desk workers say that a cancellation needs to be made 24 hours before the billing date. Immediately on speaking with CS, I told them I would not argue with them to get a refund for I did not authorize. The representative gave me the stated policy on refunds; when I asked for a supervisor or manager, the person on the phone told me she was the manager and refused to transfer. I demanded to speak with her manager she told me the call stops with her and hung up on me. I've been in call centers, in various leadership roles, for 20 years.. this is not the way to handle customer complaints. As you can see from other reviews, this company has no issue taking your money and they refuse to provide better support. You are better off disputing your charges with your bank without even contacting At The Beach. Better yet, do not even attempt to become a member of their terrible business. I wish I could give them 0 stars.

      Sadly just like the other 21 reviews on here, this company stole my money. And as everyone has also pointed out they are a SCAM. I canceled my membership and a month later i was charged 114$. I contacted them about these charges and no one would assist or refund me. Also, I received a really bad skin reaction from their so called state of the art tanning beds, which is the reason why i cancelled. Beware they steal, scam, and lack customer skills from all the way from the respresentives to the executives. Very sad.

      This place is a nightmare. They trick you into signing a "Client Release Form" which essentially makes all services non-refundable even if they were not wanted, not clear on the pricing, not used, etc. The client release form is not provided for review, and they just have you sign on a pin pad, where you don't even know what you are signing. This should be illegal. DO NOT USE AT THE BEACH TANNING. I have even explained that I was not shown the form to their customer service, who refused to acknowledge this, and repeatedly told me I signed the form. How can I sign a form that I didn't see or know I signed? This is a terrible place. Also, it is not clean. The bathrooms don't even have soap. Do yourself a favor, and take your sunless or tanning bed needs to another company.

      I had put my membership on hold for the last 3 months not realizing that I had to cancel it before the 3 months was over (my bad) if I did not want to continue to use their facilities. Then I was recently injured and this was the last thing on my mind. They were totally unwilling to work with me to refund me my $95 even though I had a Drs note. I know it was my responsibility to reminder this. But for medical reasons they should be willing to refund someone if they physically cannot use their facility. Just good PR.

Our cancellation policy states that you need to cancel your membership at least 24 hours before your billing date. Since you cancelled your membership on your billing date, we are unable to provide a monetary refund. We understand that you are not able to use the membership right now so we have noted your account stating that you have a month of tanning credit that you can use at any time. You will just need to call customer service at ************ to activate that credit.

      McKayla S at the **************** called at the beach customers idiot tanners.During my call with McKayla, I became admittedly upset because it was my 3rd time trying to cancel this membership (both in store and over the phone) and I had been charged $130 with no services rendered, believing my membership had been cancelled in the prior month (I was also under the impression that my membership was $35, not $65, my mistake)Apparently I was supposed to go back to the store and cancel in person (because cancelling over the phone is impossible)even though I had been given 2 credits acknowledging my lack of service use and my attempt to cancel. I feel that these 2 credits and phone call records would serve as proof enough for a company with reasonable costumer service to issue a refund for the most recent month I was charged following the phone call.McKayla S insured me nothing would be done for that. I became irritated and began ranting about the apathetic and robotic company response to another human. It became a battle of who can talk louder and she began speaking to me in a jovial and blatantly condescending manner. I responded by saying something to the effect of oh so at the beach is hiring 12 year olds? To which she responded yea to deal with idiot tanners.I have worked in customer service for my entire adult life (34 years old). Please believe me when I say I do not take lightly to mistreating employees. I was certainly upset and vocalizing my frustration, but I have never dealt with such an unprofessional customer service rep in my entire life. Its not entirely her fault though. Im sure she deals with angry people all day because she works for a company who has made it difficult to cancel a membership in the age of simplicity.I have never left a bad review on a company or an employee. It takes a lot for me to be upset with a company and MUCH more to make me personally upset with an employee whos just trying to earn a living.

      The employees here make all kinds of ludicrous claims about the tanning beds "stopping aging" and "reducing wrinkles." I had planned to get only a spray tan, but was encouraged to try the infrared bed combo. I sustained a painful burn on my skin and the "customer service" (non responsive to FIVE attempted phone calls!) refused to cancel my membership. When I went in to the ******** Blvd location to cancel my membership, the front desk attendant **** mentioned that she, too, had experienced a burn, but could not help me cancel my membership, I had to call customer service. So basically a complete runaround. Definitely would not recommend.

      Thank you for taking the time out of your day to let us know about this. We understand that you are wanting to cancel your membership because you were burned in a UV bed. However, the membership that you are on is a sunless membership that includes spray tanning and red light therapy. This membership does not include UV bed tanning. The session that you used was a free session that came with your membership upon signing up. Since all of our drafting memberships require one automatic draft before they can be cancelled, your membership cannot be cancelled until after your first draft on 08/01/2022.

      Absolutely terrible customer service WOW first off reading these complaints and issues with these customers I feel for you and had the same situation last Friday when the manager scammed me with my money and false advertisement promotions. The manager lied and stated that the cost was going to be different on what she had charged me , not only did I not see the transaction and I did not sign for anything the computers had shut down so there was no signature from me and her stating that this was a valid consent form. When I went back to report this issue with the Manager she was DISGRACEFUL , RUDE, AND VERY UNPROFESSIONAL she had no intentions on solving this issue are even trying to be nice and calm about it. The manager also refused to show me any paperwork are any transactions that where made I had to keep asking her, when she finally gave me copies there WAS NO SIGNED CONSENTS AT ALL. I let her know that there was no way I could agree to this nor afford it and that SHE HAD SCAM ME SHE DID NOT CARE AND STATED THAT SHE WAS THE ONLY ONE AND NO ONE ELSE BUT HER THAT COULD HELP ME AND THAT I COULD CALL CORPORATE ON MONDAY BUT MOST LIKEY WOULD NOT DO ANYTHING FOR ME !!! SHE HAD TO THROW THAT END!!!. Reading all these comments and complaints I'm no the only one that has had this experience with the same MANAGER YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE !!!! TO THE MANAGER YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELF SCAMMING PEOPLE WITH WRONG INFORMATION AND TAKING THERE MONEY. YOU REALLY NEED TO THINK ABOUT WHAT YOU ARE DOING TO PEOPLES LIVES AND HOW WRONG YOU ARE. YOU NEED HELP IN MANAGEMENT/ SKILLS AS WELL TAKE SOME CLASSES. I WILL BE MOVING FORWARD WITH THIS UNTIL THERE IS JUSTICE !!!! AND FOR EVEYBODY ELSE I SUGGEST YOU DO AS WELL, IF WE CAN ALL HELP EACHOTHER TO PUT A STOP TO THIS PLEASE COME TOGETHER. I STILL HAVE NOT GOT A REFUND.

      Absolutely terrible customer service. I asked **************** Manager ******* who else I could speak to, to convey how disappointed I am with their false marketing promotions. Her response to me? "Your complaint won't go any further than me." WOW. That was after she made a reference challenging my "eye sight". WOW. Terribly bad business. False marketing promotions promising 50% off, but mention nothing of prorating and customer service manager claims they dont ever normally have the promotion available on the first to get a full months value. So incredibly disappointing that companies are this deceptive and do it intentionally. No doubt this should be disputed, just a shame that it appears I'm in good company with all the other 1 star reviews.

      Scandalous and deceptive practices, Do Not give them your credit card or banking information. This is a scam that you never see coming until it is over. One star because I was forced to in order to submit. i Have reported to the ******** Attorney General, ************************* If I do not get resolution, I will take them to court.
