      I payed honest tax to fix tax misfiling from 2022. I payed them ***** upfront. They have yet to fix the problem l. I never asked them to wipe or make taxs owed as a no collect. I have tried to talk with them and have requested my file 4 times. All they do is pass me to someone else. I still receive letters from the irs. When I spoke to them 2 times this week all they keep saying is I dont understand or here is this form we will fix 2023 taxs. They were payed to do a job that they have not and do not appear to be doing. When I asked for a brake down of there work I was told they would put in a request to see if they can release it to me. They are creating more problems than they are fixing.

      In July 2020 we contracted with this company to help resolve taxes from 2015 to 2020. We paid them around $3000, since the contract is no longer available on the signature platform that we signed it on I cant give you the specifics if this exact second. We were told that that would resolve our debt, and we would owe nothing. And 2021 we were told that we had to pay $7500 and that would clear our debt and not to pay our 2021taxes. So we did not. As this money was our tax money. They came back again and said oh we had to pay more money and provide this alone for legal fees to go to court to resolve this. In the meantime were getting notices from the *** theyre sending us to the collection agencies and theyre saying dont worry about it that doesnt mean anything other than it does report on my credit. Today we get told that all right they ready to settle and its going to be another $12,000 which were already out. I am disabled, my husband is on Social Security, so Im not quite sure where Im supposed to powerless money out. We have taken loans out for them , I have an exorbitant amount of medical bills and they want me to come up with another $12,000. Originally we were told this will only be done for a few thousand dollars. I asked them why my 2021 taxes were never filed and they told me that the *** shows we didnt make money that year, even though my husband had a 1099 for that that was filed with the ***. Obviously at some point the *** will figure out we made money that year. They said well we did your taxes for you so you have tax records. Money that we owed that they told us we go in with the rest of that settlement. I contacted another attorney today and they said that 7500 shouldve been paid directly to the *** and the *** does not show any record of it. That they pocketed that 7500 that was to clear up our debt at that time. I was also told this would be less than a year and we are working on several years now increasing the amount we owe.

      I hired Honest Taxes to see if they could work with my debt to the irs and they took my case. I agreed to pay them ***** for the service and made either 4 payments of 300 dollars to them. I was basically on a monthly payment plan. After my fourth payment they stopped deducting my monthly payment of 300. I called them a few times trying to get an update on my case but nobody would return my calls. My last attempt was on was 8/8/23.

      I am rejecting this response because: as I've said before in all the time Honest Tax has been working on my problem nothing has been done except us owing IRS more now then in the beginning. Also I've had to file any back tax returns that weren't filed. These returns all had refunds as part of the returns. Which we've lost those refunds because of the taxes owed.

       AND Honest Tax went and got a loan company to pay them my fees so that it will be almost impossible to stop the payments to that company even if I cancel the contract with Honest Tax.

      I contacted Honest Tax in late 2020 or early 2021 to resolve my taxes for 2019. As a result of COVID and losing my business in 2020, my financial situation had changed drastically and I was unable to cover my taxes due for 2019. I paid their retainer fee of $2800 (I believe) and they told me they were going to enroll me in a financial hardship program with the **** which they never did. In September of 2021 they called to tell me they had reached a resolution with the *** but that I had to pay it immediately. My settlement payment was $12,000 and I received a "case finalization statement" from Honest Tax, so I expected my 2019 taxes has been resolved. In 2022, I checked my status with *** and set up a payment plan for my 2021 taxes and discovered that my taxes for ********************************************************** reduced. So they did not apply my $12,000 payment to the ***. Honest Tax has continued to dodge this issue and been unresponsive to emails and phone calls won't go through. I've been shuffled from one agent to another, at least 5 or 6 to date. Every agent I've dealt with at Honest Tax will not provide a direct email address. According to the *** website, they describe these fraudulent tax resolution company scams which describes exactly what Honest Tax has done to me. Honest Tax has done absolutely nothing to help my tax situation and I am burdened with tax payments to the *** that I cannot afford. I do not trust them and I'm 100% convinced they are a SCAM. I have since filed a complaint with the ************************ against Honest Tax.

      I am rejecting this response because:

      I was contacted over a week ago by the "complaint handler" who has tried multiple times to get some answers/feedback from Honest Tax but they've been non compliant in providing any information to him. 

      Honest Tax told me in September, 2021 that they had reached a settlement offer with the *** for my 2019 tax debt. I paid over $12k to Honest Tax to settle that debt. However, that payment was never submitted to the ***. Honest Tax has been unable to explain where that money went and have been avoiding my correspondence. Everything they claimed they would do for me, they failed to do.

      Starting around May of 2022 I began a payment plan with Honest Tax LLC of $150 a month until the dollar amount reached $1100. The first month I paid $200.Because I saw no progress being made at all, I called early this year in January to rescind the contract. They honored this and sent me a check for $1100.Then I was hospitalized until April. I never cashed the check.When I called on April 26th of 2023 to inform them of what happened, the man on the phone laughed at me and told me that if I was in the hospital that long that means I am physically weak. He then laughed and berated me.This extremely untoward behavior I will not tolerate and others should know what this company does: they try to bully you when you aren't satisfied, hiding behind the ***************************** designation.I demand that Honest Tax LLC resend the check to me.

      In July 2020 Honest Tax contacted me and solicited me as a customer. I owed taxes from 2015 on. I was making payments to *** and Honest Tax told me they could get a lower payment or get my taxes reduced. They said it would take about 18 months at the most. I paid them approximately $3000. That is not the exact amount but approximatelly. They conveniently had financing set up for me already. I called and sent documents like they asked. Then in June 2022 2 yrs after they contacted me at work and said they had a settlement with *** and they had my payment lowered. They said *** had agreed on a settlement of about half of what I owed but I had to pay it that day. What I owed at that time was approximately $13000.00. They conveniently had financing set up already for that loan of $6943.00 so they could pay *** off and I would owe *** zero. I am 68 years old and I was at work trying to do all of this and it was very stressful. So I did what they told me to do and felt relieved to have *** debt paid. I kept getting statements from *** every month but when I contacted Honest Tax they told me to disregard. Now 9 months later *** is threating to put a lien or start collections on me. I contacted Honest Tax several times before they got back to me. The case manager seemed irritated that I wanted something showinig that they had paid *** but I kept on calling them. They finally sent me something call "*** Account Status Dashboard" they said they had pulled off the *** website. It showed I had zero balance.Then when I called *** wanting to know about my balance they are telling me as far as they can tell I still owe the $13000 and no payment was made. But no one can tell me for sure. I dont know if Honest Tax scammed me or *** doesnt know what they are doing but I am out close to $11000 and still owe $13000 in taxes. Plus I cannot afford to make the loan payment and the *** payment. It leaves me with nothing. The last loan they set me up with for the $6943 was with ******* and after I started asking questions it was sold to UPortal 360 and I am skipping this moths payment because I cannot afford both payments. *** says I have to pay this month or I will be in default. I dont know where to start as far as getting this resolved. I have sent letters to *** and Honest Tax doesnt want to talk to me.

      The mediator did not have the correct information and he tried to act like they were doing me a favor.  I dont care what Honest Tax told him but I would never pay $10,000. To erase a ****** debt.  They led me to believe they were paying IRS the money and I had to do it that day.  I was confused and they knew it.  I did not understand and I told them I was concerned about the way they were having me sign the documents.  They just kept assuring me. They did not help me.

      Unfortunately consumer wants her cake and to eat it to.  Our mediator presented a solution that consumer agreed to.  Once it was done, consumer 180's and now has made good on her threats to the BBB.  We wiped out consumers debt but now she wants to not pay us for the service.

      I am rejecting this response because: They did not erase my debt and they misled me. And their attorneys called me and even offered to refund the money I had paid in return for me taking my complaint away.  Honest Tax did nothing for me. IRS sent me letter in March saying my taxes were still owed and they were threatening me w collections.  They did offer to make my taxes non collectible after I told them what happened and why I had not been making payments.  But that is not what I wanted.  Why would I pay $10,000.00 for them to get rid of $3000.00. I paid Honest Tax for their services up front and then at the end they led me to believe I had to pay IRS that day and they conveniently had a loan set up for $6943.00 which I thought was going to IRS but Honest Tax kept the payment. I want a full refund of all the money I have paid them and the last loan still has a big balance which I want them to take off of my credit.

      I am rejecting this response because:
      I dont believe they put me in CNC status in June 2022.  If they did it was after I made the complaint.  They led me to believe the $6943.00 loan was for *** and *** would write off the other.  I had already paid Honest Tax up front when they took the case. The second loan was to be paid  to ***.  They made me believe I had to sign everything that day or *** wouldnt write off the other half.  It doesnt even make sense that I would pay Honest Tax $10,000.00 for a $13000.00 debt.  If I had thought that money was going to Honest Tax and not the *** I wouldnt have done it.  I dont want the account in non collectible because if I miss a payment or Im not able to pay all my taxes each year all that balance comes right back to me to pay.  It is not paid off like they say.  In their response earlier they said I made an agreement with their mediator and then did a 180.  I never agreed with the mediator so he never called again. *** threatened me collections in March so why did they do that if I was in non collectible status. I believe now that they do this to older people thinking they wont realize. Im 68 and Im an honest person, Im a veteran and a good citizen and Im tired of this kind of treatment.  They know Im correct on this. Whether they admit it or not they know what they did.

      I had been a so-called consumer of this company for nearly two years, I believe. Based on the contract attached between myself and this company, I was promised that they would make settlements with the *** in regards to monies that I had owed. This was especially true for tax years 2021 and 2019. The last time I had spoken with a rep from that company was a few months back in 2022. I had a question that just came up regarding my personal account with the *** and was told by that rep that I had nothing to worry about and that it would be taken care of by them, since they were my ***** of ********* Well, around November or December, that all changed, when I tried to contact Honest Tax again and could not get a hold of them. The message kept coming up that the number was no longer in service. And I have tried contacting them several times through that number after that and still no response. Yet, it still shows they are in business when I ****** their business online. Even tried another number, tried to contact them through the website, as well as through an email address that I had seen on the website. Still no response, even to this day. I had paid close to $1200 for their services and I want that money back! They did not follow through with what they had promised and now I owe the *** nearly $5000 after I was told by Honest Tax that they would still be working on a settlement. The reason why I had tried calling them back around November/December, was because I had noticed that the amounts I had owed the *** showed up on my account again when previously the amounts were at $0. Previously, I had figured that a settlement was still being worked on,. Also, I am not seeing the *** document attachment anymore. I demand to know what's going on with Honest Tax and demand that they help me out again and/or give me my money back! Right now, I have already set-up monthly payments with the *** when I shouldn't have to!

      This company took my case in 2021. I paid them $9,642 after they claimed they would erase my Federal debt and work on my state debt. They did Nothing expect put all my federal debt on my credit cards, destroyed my credit, changed their phone numbers and the name of the company. I still owe massive debt to state taxes and all they Ever did is come up with excuses.. They Always have an excuse as to why they have repeatedly failed to handle the job I paid them for. My next step is to report this company for fraud as I ended up worse off than before I met them. I will come back to this page to report on any outcomes in the future.
