Hello, I signed a contract with EZ Evictions *** via the owner, ********************* (aka *********************** / ******) in Sept 2022 in the amount of $4,995 to help match me to one of the attorneys they work with for a case specific to my situation. Unfortunately, after the 2022 holidays, ******************* off with responses. I heard through him directly, and then with his company partner, ***********************, following up that he had some family is***s re: ownership of his company. And by about March 2023, I was told ***** had unexpectedly passed away. Due to my contract not being in the "company records", and due to my payment to the company account that apparently is "not directly connected to the official business accounts" (EVICTION NETWORK LLC), ****** told me that I would not be able to get a refund from them but to hire a private detective as he had done in relation to *****'s family having taken ownership of the company account. He also stated that they would not be able to fulfill the contract services to make up for it without me paying the additional attorney fees up front - which was the opposite of the sole reason I had originally decided to work with this company. (My situation had already bled me for 2 years and I paid ***** in installments for the fee they requested for services.) I did some digging on the different LLCs that had been listed on the original website (ezevictioninc.com) which is no longer available and came up empty handed and nothing relating back to "*********************" - but have come across numerous sites reporting alleged fraud by the CA State Bar. There seems to be more information available now vs. March 2023, but still unsure how to proceed to getting refunded or how to *** for it. I'm reaching out to the CA State Bar, as well, since there is a record against his other business names: Freedom Financial Firm, Freedom Financial, ***., Evictions Firm, and Eviction Lawyers of ***********.
