The company known as Benchmark Asset Resolution repossessed my car. After settling my account with ******************* on February 28, 2025, they refused to provide any information about retrieving my vehicle. They only directed me to a website to schedule a pickup. However, the earliest available appointment was on Tuesday, March 4, 2025. After securing that appointment, I received a text stating that I must wait for confirmation before they would provide any further details about retrieving my car. I am currently at a standstill, as they won't disclose the total fees involved. My research indicates that numerous complaints have been lodged against this company regarding their business practices. Each day my car remains on their lot incurs additional costs for me. It seems their objective is to accumulate as many fees as possible without allowing customers to retrieve their vehicles in a timely manner. This business practice appears extremely unfair, and I believe this company should be investigated and potentially fined for its unethical practices.

Benchmark Asset *********** *** does not deserve a star at all but youre asked to rate it before filing the complaint. I picked up my vehicle from the tow yard located at ***********************************************, ** where it was stored for 8 days. An employee suggested that I go through the inventory of my personal belongings thrown in a big trash bag and for me to inspect the outside of the car thoroughly before leaving the property. Im glad I did because I found multiple scratches in different locations. People like me who constantly inspect the car whenever I park it anywhere will notice every detail of scratches, dings or dents. I have a newer car therefore I have a mental collection of where the scratches are that were there if any.The scratches seemed like someone grazed on it due to the direction of it, the other damages seemed like a certain tool or item hit it and left white markings. I made the complaint in person while still at the property and an employee took photos of the damages, I was given a complaint form to fill out and be notarized before submission. These people have been a pain to deal with from the beginning, cant get a hold of a live person to talk to with the phone # listed for the business. My complaint was denied by their office after submitting photos of the damages and they have claimed the damages were from normal wear and tear, unbelievably absurd. I guess its common for them to deny every claim because they dont want to own up to their faults. This is a warning for all consumers who end up dealing with this company, you can push your claim to no limits and they will deny you and take no responsibility at all. They have multiple locations and Im sure they all operate this way.

my vehicle was taken from me. it took a week to find out benchmark had it and personal possessions. i got the information on how to retrieve my belongings. i made a appointment on line. waited for a response finally i got a message that the appointment was declined cant accommodate. i made eight after that and was declined and i should dial a number. i left a voicemail with *******. i got a response from saying that the appointment was declined. the exact information that i got from them via text message. it takes several days after you make a appointment to get a response so now days are passing and time remaining is getting shorter because i have found out that they hold belongings for 60 days. i found that out from ******* on day number 72. yep. she told me that and i just cried. there are many items that i really needed. she was cold. like she enjoyed saying that. i asked numerous questions as to where, how, things get discarded. she said that they are gone. as a consumer you would have thought they would have noticed the attempts i tried, the numerous phone calls and try to get a hold of me. i gave them my email so that there were two ways of contacting me. they could have mentioned after a month of dealing with them they would continue reaching out because now i am out personal belongings that are important and they are out whatever the storage fee that i would have paid. i just dont get it. i am going to do a yelp after this. after researching they have one star rating. one. thats because thats the lowest instead of a half star or minus stars. when you call in you have to listen to a greeting. in the greeting it states that they are truly raising the bar. meaning that helping expectations and going above and beyond but it can also mean to make life miserable for everyone by not responding to emails or voicemails. by frustrating the customer by the lack of compassion and understanding that certainly was not given! i truly hope that people complain

My experience with Benchmark Assets: While I appreciate their adherence to certain repossession laws, there were some aspects of my experience that could have been handled better. To begin, I encountered issues regarding the repossession of my vehicle. I was not present at the time of the repossession, which understandably added complexity to the situation. It is worth noting that, under ********** law, I was supposed to receive a "Notice to Seizure" within 48 hours of the repossession, which would have included essential details about storage fees. However, I have yet to receive this notice, which has created uncertainty and made it challenging to navigate the process. Moreover, my interaction with their customer service raised concerns. During my communication with a representative, I felt somewhat spoken down to, possibly due to my younger age. It's essential to understand that empathy may not be a strict requirement in this industry, but it would be greatly appreciated if the customer service approach were more respectful and understanding of customer frustrations. Another issue pertains to the fees associated with retrieving my personal belongings from the repossessed vehicle. While I understand that repossession companies have the right to charge reasonable fees, I received a bill that exceeded $265, which seemed high, especially in addition to a vehicle redemption fee of $650 and a storage fee of $65 per day for seven days (including the weekend). I firmly believe that the fees for returning personal property should be justifiable and within legal limits. I've reached out to Benchmark Assets seeking clarification on these fees, an itemized breakdown, and an explanation of their calculation. I understand that businesses must adhere to the law, but I believe that the customer service experience can greatly impact a company's reputation. It's essential that customer interactions be respectful, especially in situations where frustration is involved.
