    July 22, 2024, I hired the company to resolve back tax issues. Their total of $1700.00. Communication has been frustrating at the least, I have to call leave messages for *** ****** which he never returns or be put on hold for someone to answer and no one does after 30 minutes on hold. Aside from Gabby who was very helpful after the *** depleted my bank account before Labor Day where she assisted myself. As of today, no contact from *** ****** (who i was connected with), for paperwork I was to sign for filing back taxes. They have not done a thing except collect their fee since July.

    Better Business Bureau Subject: Complaint Against Tax Relief Helpers Dear Better Business Bureau,I am filing a formal complaint against Tax Relief Helpers, whom I hired in May 2023 to assist with negotiating a balance on my 2022 taxes with the *** and the State of Iowa. The total cost for their services was $25,183, and they agreed to file powers of attorney, negotiate with both the *** and **************************, and either reduce my balances or arrange a payment plan for both tax obligations.Nature of the Complaint:Despite the significant payment and the six months that have passed, I have seen no indication that Tax Relief Helpers are working on my case. I have made over 30 phone calls and sent countless emails, yet I have not received any meaningful response. Furthermore, after contacting the *** and the ************************** directly, I learned that neither has had any contact with Tax Relief Helpers on my behalf.Efforts to Resolve:I have requested a refund four times via email and twice over the phone, but I have received no response. My phone calls and emails to their team have largely gone unanswered, and I am increasingly concerned that this company may be engaging in fraudulent practices.Desired Resolution:I am seeking a full refund of $25,183 for services that were never rendered, as well as the cancellation of any agreement between myself and Tax Relief Helpers. Additionally, I request that the BBB investigate this company to prevent other consumers from experiencing the same issues.I have attached all relevant documentation, including the contract, receipts, and records of my communication attempts, for your review.     7/17/24 I spoke with a *** ****** who promised this company would take great care of me. I expressed the fact I needed taxes for 22/23 filed asap. She assured me (your calls are recorded per your contract so please refer to this) that my taxes would be filed WITHIN 24 hours but I needed to make sure I paid a certain amount first. She advised this is the first thing that has to happen and will right away before anything can happen. I gave her some money and then called back and said please process so we can get this done this week. I was promised I would have her directly to talk with, I could email, text or call. It is almost 90 days later and no 2022 taxes have been filed. I have numerous emails and she says call customer service. I call customer service and someone answers and puts me on hold, doesnt even say hello - just tax services please hold. Please refund my money asap, as this was not what she promised at all. I had one call with someone at the *** and your company. They *** advised them we needed taxes filed within 30 days. (That call would have also been recorded). This is getting insane. I have Guidance Tax on forms from you that nobody can tell me who that is, I finally got an answer from the 800# the *** says I have to call after 4 tries - 2- holds of 45 mins, 1 of 10 mins, 1 of 36 mins. **** answered said you moved and the new address for the corporate office is *****************************************. (this address says honest tax) I asked who Guidance was she didnt know. She said they are ******** and that is who I am doing biz with. This is insane and I cannot get answers, help and need my refund and cancel asap. If you would like my phone recording I can give that (but you should have them), or my texts or emails. I have everything saved. Please refund asap. (also called another *** today who on recording stated yes if you sign with us 100% we will get those filed immediately.) ****** now says it could tax 6-8 months for accounting to file.

    Initial contact with the company and the *** promised to reduce my tax obligation ***************** year later, and still no update or resolution. I have left more than seven messages and have not received any return call or information.They took my $3500 fee and thats all they have done. I have three individual names of people Ive spoke to and was promised to return call and still nothing.This company is a scam in my opinion. They know how to take your fee, but dont know how to do anything else. Terrible communication.

TODAY, AUGUST 26 2024, THEY TRIED TO CHARGED MY SAME CREDIT CARD $2,521.00, BUT WAS DECLINED, EVEN AFTER I HAD TOLD THEM THROUGH TEXT MASSAGES AND PHONE CONVERSATION THAT I TERMINATED THEIR SERVICES.5) DID BUSINESS TRIED TO RESOLVE PROBLEM - NO, THEY WANT TO KEEP MY **** OPEN IN **** I CHANGE MY MIND, BUT I TOLD THEM NO, CLOSE IT I SAID, I JUST WANT MY REFUND. ****'S **** MANAGER SAID NOT REFUNDABLE, I TOLD HIM THAT THE AGREEMENT STATES 15 DAYS CANCELATION BETWEEN TWO PARTIES, AND BESIDES THERE IS 3 DAYS GRACE PERIOD WHERE YOU ARE ALLOWED TO WITHDRAW FROM ANY SIGNED AGREEMENT.6) I WAS BROWSING FOR TAX ATTORNEYS A WHILE BACK, THEIR OFFICE KEPT CALLING MY PHONE SO MANY TIMES FOR SEVERAL DAYS, AND IT SO HAPPENED I ANSWER MY PHONE THAT DAY. I WAS NOT PARTICULARLY LOOKING TO HIRE THEIR SERVICES BECAUSE I ALREADY HAD JUSTICE TAX HANDLING MY TAX PROBLEMS. I GUESS WHEN I MENTIONED TO HIM THAT JUSTICE TAX HAS MY **** AND I'M STILL WAITING, THAT'S WHEN EVERYTHING STARTED SO FAST THAT NEXT THING I KNEW I WAS ASKED FOR PAYMENT AND HAVING ME e-SIGNED THIS AND INITIAL THAT WITHOUT REALLY EXPLAINING IT TO ME. THAT NIGHT WHEN I CAME BACK TO MY SENSES I TRIED TO CANCEL THE PAYMENT MADE, BUT MY DAUGHTER IN LAW ASKED ME IF I HAVE MADE CONTACT WITH THEM, AND I SAID NO, AND SHE SAID DO THAT FIRST, THEN DISPUTE THE PAYMENT WITH ************ WHICH I DID. I ALSO TOLD **** AND ******* IN MY PREVIOUS MESSAGES THAT I WILL CONTINUE THE **** WITH JUSTICE TAX.

    The transaction initiated on 02/15/2024. Tax Relief Helpers, *** (The representative name is *********************). ***************** informed me that they could lower my tax **** up to 90% at a fee of $3,500 via installments or pay as I go. I gave him my bank debit card information where he debited $300.00 as a down payment from my account. Weekly for the past 4 weeks I called him for an update or progress check. He continually informed me there was no progress and to be patient. Also I had requested a copy of my agreement that I e-signed, he only sent me by e-mail an invoice that indicated the $300.00 down payment and payment schedule of $290.91 due on the 15th of each month, On 03/15/24 @ 8:13 am, **************** sent me a text msg. for another payment. The previous day I withdrew a money from my bank acct. fearing he may have initiated an autopay of which I never agreed, His attempt failed. He called, I informed him I did not care to do business anymore, since no progress (no product). He subsequently informed me that there will be "no refund". My alleged Tax Relief Helpers, *** account number is *****. I have yet to have heard from **************** since a Saturday a.m. text informing me, "we're not building a house".Since December 2023, I had been getting voice mail advertisements from this company. I subsequently called the number February 15, 2024 in order to consolidate my tax debt.

    ********, We made multiple attempts to get in touch with you in order to continue the case with our firm.  As far as savings the case qualified for greater than a 90% savings, but unfortunately you stopped paying your bill to our firm.
    When a client goes delinquent/non responsive/non communicative, then we have no choice but to pause work, I'm sure you can understand we don't deliver high level results for free.  We have no issue refunding the fee, and letting you handle the debt on your own, but you haven't answered our phone calls to even do so.  The case is a fantastic case, but sadly we cannot continue pro-****.  I'm sure you can respect that we have to pay our attorneys to deliver the ************************ we deliver to our client's monthly.  Once you answer our calls, we will simply refund you and wish you the best of luck, call us anytime M-F 8am PST-5pm PST.
