I had used Zip Recruiter once before for our business under a free trial they sent in the mail. It was years ago. I logged in to post a job. Went through the process and was given no information on pricing as I posted the job. a Wek goes by, and I get a 525 charge on my **! I didn't even know I had the ** saved under our account!!! I call and explain that 1. I felt mislead, their was nothing prompting me or letting me know I would be charged. Most job filing sites allow you to post for free and if you wish to boost or search resumes you can do so at a cost. I did not have to click a button to approve being charged.2. I didn't even know my ** was saved on there and I would not have allowed my card to be charged. 3. I got maybe one candidate that was decent. They would only issue a half of a refund. I asked them to remove my ** information, and I will never be using them again or recommending them. I will be submitting a claim as there was NOTHING showing that the posting would cost anything.

      Hello ******,

Thank you for taking the time to share your ZipRecruiter feedback with us via the Better Business Bureau.  We would be happy to assist you and review your account details further.

Upon registration, all users are presented with their plan options and must choose a subscription before posting a job.   ZipRecruiter is a job board platform, and while we do offer a free trial for all new users, the service is not free.  We apologize for any inconvenience or misunderstanding.  Your Lead Electrician position was posted on the ZipRecruiter website along with an additional 100+ job partner sites from 2/27/2025 until 3/17/2025.  You signed up for our usage plan, meaning you only incur charges for the number of days you have a job posted.  Once you close your job or the charges reach the $500 threshold, the account is billed to the credit card on file.

We see that you spoke directly with one of our billing specialists, who issued you a full refund for the invoice on 3/17/2025 per courtesy.  We also voided out the pending remaining amount for service, so there should be no further charges for your account unless you choose to post a job again.

We hope this information finds you well, and were so glad to have gotten this resolved for you.  We wish you the best of luck with your future hiring endeavors!

      Kind Regards,
      Customer Experience

Pulled in on the "free".Through statements made, paid for a product incapable of living up to the statements made. The filters don't filter. People claiming they're licensed, aren't. This service is just a massive volume of useless people "for me". I am a one man office, I can't weed through thousands of useless applicants, and the filters don't help and I don't want to use it, or tweak, or give it patience.I want my money back.I pulled the plug quickly, don't like or want the product, and asked for my money back. That's all I want.

      Hello Max,

Thank you for taking the time to share your ZipRecruiter feedback with us via the Better Business Bureau.  We would be happy to assist you with your concerns.

You did sign up for a monthly subscription plan to post your ******************* Electrician job on ZipRecruiter.  Before posting a job, your chosen job-posting plan and our Terms of Use must be agreed to.  Your position was posted on ZipRecruiter along with an additional 100+ job board partner websites from 2/24/2025 until 3/10/2025.  It appears you reached out to us directly and received resolution.  As a courtesy, our billing specialist extended a full refund per your request.
The refund was processed on our end on 3/10/2025 when we closed out the account for you.  Generally, the refund is returned to your account between 3-5 business days, depending on your financial institution.

Were glad we were able to come to a solution, and we wish you the very best of luck in your future hiring endeavors.

      Kind Regards,
      Customer Experience

I am an employer using zip recruiter services for hiring. I have received 4 duplicate resumes from candidates with different names. Same jobs, same employment dates, etc. Either they are sending fake resumes or bots are creating and sending fake resumes. It needs addressed. It is a waste of employer and job seekers time.

I have worked with The *********** since 2015. The original recruiting account with ******************** was set up during that time frame. A few years ago, we created another account through our owner ****** ****. He transitioned this account to me as the primary point of contact. At that time, since there was a ********************************* address on file, we had to create an alias *******.**********. We recently changed domain providers and *******.********** is no longer available. The customer service desk can see both email, both accounts and had me on a phone call with a number registered on the account, yet refused to change the email and grant me access to the account. I have called from both office number and cell number, yet they are directing me to send an email from an account that does not exist, requesting I request the change in writing. The level of stupidity for that request astounds me. I am requesting the refund of the past six months of service, as this site has been unavailable for me to use and they refuse to help.

I was looking for an assistant and went to the website of zip recruiter, they offer a free tryout and the AD said your credit card wont be charged. After two months I realized that have been charging me more than 500 dollars a month. I tried to get a refund because they didnt notify me in any way that they will charge me and they said that they have a disclaimer that said they will. I am very careful with subscriptions and I am sure I did not see that when I sign for the free trial. They are scammers do not trust this company

      Hello ******,

Thank you for sharing your ZipRecruiter feedback with us via the Better Business Bureau.  Wed be happy to assist and provide you with further clarification regarding your account.
Upon registration, all users must agree to our Terms of Use and their chosen subscription plan.  When on the free trial, users must also agree to a bolded statement of agreement advising that if the free trial is not canceled by the expiration, the account will begin to incur charges.  We apologize for any previous misunderstanding or oversight, but at this time, the charges for having your *********** Assistance position active from 10/1/2024 to 12/11/2024, are valid.

Additionally, we see that you have already disputed the charges.  We are unable to provide any refunds at this time.  We suggest following up with your financial institution for more information regarding that resolution.
As always, we wish you the best of luck with your future hiring endeavors.

I believe Zip Recruiter is scamming and taking advantage of employers seeking to recruit talent. They charged me $500+ for posting a job posting on their site and in return they do not assist with screening or qualifying candidates that submit resumes. The quality of candidates is poor and I believe the majority of the traffic are bots. If they are going to charge for recruiting services they should offer support in return to justify their rates. Employers are paying for value and expect to receive quality in return as they would with any given recruit service. Unfortunately they offer nothing in return and this is an unequal exchange for payment of services.

      Hello ******,

Thank you for sharing your ZipRecruiter experience via the Better Business Bureau.  We would be happy to assist you and clarify your account details.

When signing up for services, you must agree to your chosen subscription plan and our Terms of Use before posting a job.  ZipRecruiter is a job board and job distribution platform.  We do not provide specific screening of your candidates and anyone is allowed to apply for jobs they may be interested in or feel qualified for.  We cannot prevent anyone from applying, however, we do have great tools in place to filter through unqualified candidates and attract more qualified applicants.
You signed up to post your *********** Agent job ad with us and had it advertised from 11/20/24 to 12/11/24.  The position was posted on ZipRecruiter along with an additional 100+ job board websites.  Per the agreement, you were incurring charges by the day.  Once you close your job, an invoice will be generated for the amount of time your ad was active.

At this time, we cannot issue a refund as the services were utilized and the charge is valid.  You do still have the ability to sign in to your account and review your applicants, free of charge.  We also provide dedicated 24/7 customer care for your convenience and ease.  We encourage you to contact us directly if you ever have any questions or concerns about your account.  Please feel welcome to reach out at any time.
We apologize for any misunderstanding or inconvenience this may have caused, and we wish you the very best of luck with your future hiring endeavors.

I am rejecting this response because this is an unequal exchange of services with no value added. First of all, zipcruiter does not send any confirmation or receipt of subscription with clear terms and conditions of said services, trial terms or cancellation policy.

In addition, its advertised as a free trial but theirs is no correspondence from zipcruiter to confirm fees, billing cycle or anything to support the legitimacy of these services.

After reviewing other complaints, I am confident this is a scam to trick employers into a subscription and I have disputed this with my bank.

      Sincerely,

I am writing to file a formal complaint against ZipRecruiter regarding a significant and unexpected change in our invoice pricing, as well as the lack of response to our requests for assistance. Our company has been a loyal customer of **********************, consistently paying $59.99 for their services. However, after our account representative was changed, the quoted pricing increased to $159.99 providing the same services.. This sudden increase has caused considerable inconvenience and financial strain on our business. We have made multiple requests to have our previous representative reinstated, but we have not received any response from ZipRecruiter. The lack of communication and the abrupt price hike are unacceptable and have left us feeling undervalued as a customer. We kindly request the ********************'s assistance in resolving this matter by urging ZipRecruiter to either reinstate our previous representative or revert to our original pricing of $59.99. We believe this resolution is fair and would help restore our confidence in ZipRecruiter's services.Thank you for your attention to this complaint. We look forward to a prompt and satisfactoryresolution.

      Hello ******,

Thank you for sharing the email address associated with the correct account.

All users must agree to their chosen subscription plan along with our Terms of Use, before posting a job.  The exact date and time your free trial expires are provided to you and are always listed in the account.  After the free trial, if your job remains active, you are moved to a paid plan and incur charges by the day.  To stop billing, you would need to close your job.

Your Registered Dental Hygienist position was posted from 8/29/2024 to 9/19/2024.  As you did not close your job during the free trial, you were billed for the amount the job was live, minus the 2-day trial.
While wed like to assist further, we are unable to discuss any potential refunds at this time as the charge in question has been disputed.  We suggest that you contact your financial institution directly for further assistance or the results of that dispute.

Employer searching for employees ... I was warned about ZipRecruiter being shady with their billing but after trying another hiring platform I still wanted to try Zip. I was very careful when signing up looking for any indication of a subscription (Which I did NOT want) I was being charged what looked to be a $45 charge for quick ad. I called my credit card company today and found a large unexpected charge of $500 from Zip, so I looked at my Zip account and saw a subscription tab, clicked on that and sure enough the buggers got me! Charging me $24 per day and to top it off still have an outstanding bill for roughly 20 more days! After discovering this I immediately ended that shady subscription. I work in the travel industry with large social media groups, I will be screaming like Chicken Little to beware of this company. I tried to get help through their chat but all the girl did was copy and paste her responses which told me they deal with this issue a lot! And yes she was a human and not AI. Hello *****,

Thank you for taking the time to share your ZipRecruiter feedback with us via the Better Business Bureau.  We are happy to assist you and review your account details.

When posting a job with ZipRecruiter, youre required to choose a subscription plan upon registration.  All users must agree to their chosen job-posting plan along with our Terms of Use.
You utilized the 2-day free trial to post your Travel Agent position on 6/18/2024.  At that time, you closed the job successfully within the free trial period so you were not billed.  After the free trial, your account moves to a paid plan.  Your recent Travel Agent Remote job was posted on ZipRecruiter along with an additional 100+ job board websites from 9/6/2024 to 10/15/2024.  You were charged for that time frame.  Additionally, a Traffic Boost enhancement was purchased on 9/6/2024 as a one-time fee.  All of the plan details are sent to you and listed within your account at all times.

We also have dedicated, 24/7 customer care for your convenience and ease; so you may reach out for questions or concerns anytime.  Your job received over 300 candidates which are still available for your review, even while the account is inactive.  You may log in to your account to view the applicants and resumes received.
As the service was utilized, we are unable to provide a refund at this time.  We hope this information further clarifies, and we welcome you to contact us directly if need be.

We wish you the best of luck in your hiring journey.

I am rejecting this response because: I did not accept the boost either!!!  This is corrupt corporation at it's best, being sneaky to get your money.

I should have listened when being warned, now my job is to warn others!

      Sincerely,

      ***** ****

      Hello *****,

Thank you for sharing your additional feedback.  The boost enhancements do need to be purchased by the user, as this is not something that is done automatically within your account.
If you require additional assistance, we welcome you to contact us directly.
