    Don't use this company. One, I'd never received a SPAM call from lenders before applying at Upstart, now I get 6-10 every day. They will sell your information to every scam artist in the world. Two, if you have one bank account, maybe they'll do a good job assessing your credit worthiness. I'm a business owner with multiple banking relationships, which they couldn't handle, so they offered me a consolidation loan smaller than the outstanding balances on my each of my existing credit cards at 50% higher rate. A waste of time applying and now a daily waste of time with all the SPAM.

    Horrible service. All approved at sign document stage. Had a issue finding my driver's license that they had a copy of. They withdrew the loan. Lost 14 days and lots of stress. Sidenote found my license hours later. Secured another loan elsewhere approved same day Thanks upstart got a better rate

    I looked into getting a loan with them but never actually applied for it. This was months and months ago, I have a little info but then decided not to go through with it. Well I received an email today July 23rd stating "Unfortunately we are unable to offer you a loan at this time... etc". I thought it was weird cause i have not applied for one technically so it worried me enough to call and see if they ran my info through or if some one out there used me email and name possiblely... they could not tell me anything, said they can not see if a loan was applied for or nothing at this time and couldn't help or reassure me that no one was trying to use my info. They couldn't even tell me if it's just an automatic email that goes out after so long of not completing the application. (Which again was six or more months ago)... super sketchy and not good customer service at all.

    The worst experience I have had with a financial organization. I paid my loan off in full. I was told by multiple representatives that the account was paid and closed. I was shocked when they said I missed a payment and proceeded to say I still owed another payment and then hit my credit. ******************.

    Crooked, lying, dishonest business. They sent unsolicited offers of loans saying you are pre-selected and then deny the loan application. I never asked them to send me the letter.

    I paid off my Upstart loan in full based on the exact payoff quote they provided me. The quote was $4,936.02, and after making the payment, my account showed a $0.00 balance. I thought I was done.Then, three days later, they automatically withdrew another $160.36 from my account. When I contacted them, they claimed the second payment had been anticipated in the original payoff, but never disclosed that at the time of payment. Even worse, they had deducted $105.06 in interest from my payoff amount, which meant the full amount I paid wasnt even applied to my loans principal.They never disclosed that interest would be subtracted from the quoted payoff before applying it toward the balance. If the payoff quote wasnt enough to satisfy the loan, they should never have presented it as such.I spent days emailing and calling. I was promised a call from a supervisor, which never came. I asked for documentation to support their claims, they gave none. The math doesnt even add up, as they also claimed I overpaid by $10.92, which contradicts their entire justification.Upstart has shown a complete lack of transparency, accountability, and fair financial practices. *** filed a formal complaint with the **** and will be disputing the unauthorized charge through my bank.Avoid this lender at all costs. Their process is confusing by design, and customer service does not resolve serious billing errors.

    I started by using lending tree, selected a 2-day turnaround, and found my best rate to be with Upstart. I filled out the application and submitted the requested documents immediately and was told my loan was in review. About 2 days later, maybe 3, and I get a notification that I need to provide paystubs and bank statements. I submitted the additional documents (this time in about 24 hours of the request) and am again notified my loan is in review. I called about a week later for an update and was told that, due to an invrease in volume, it can take 3-5 days for a decision. My credit score is in the 700's and my DTI is ok, so I didn't expect any issues. Another few days pass and I call again because my rate expired. They renewed it and told me I had to keep waiting. On week 2.5, I call again and I'm told that I'll have an answer before my rate expires (I explain that my rate already expired once). The lady said someone should have called me and I informed her that no one did and that I need a response. By week 3.5, I ask to speak to a manager and was told there could be a 2 day wait. Luckily, the manager called same day but said the *** team would need time to review my application before a decision and it could take 2 more days. 5 days later (week 4 now) I called and cancelled my loan request. I started a new loan request with another lender and had full approval and payment in 3 business days. Upstart is incredibly unprofessional and their business practices are terrible. I would never use or recommend Upstart ever again.

    Upstart is by far the worst company ever and has the rudest customer service I have ever dealt with and they a re crooks!!!! if I can leave negative stars I would!!!

    I have been with upstart for 2 years now. I am currently unemployed and asked for hardship assistance. Upstart offered me two options, but both of them had an increase in interest. If I am asking for hardship assistance and there is an increase in interest, how is that helping me?I called two other creditors yesterday, they both reduced my APR down to 1% during this time of hardship. Why doesn't Upstart offer support in this area?I am a college graduate in the process of getting hired on a teacher, but am unable to acquire work until the new school year starts. I am already in forbearance on my college federal ******** my opinion/experience, Upstart customer service is very supportive, but the company itself not offering better hardship terms shows themselves to be corporate/money focused instead of customer focused.
