This office is a fraud. It claims it offers endodontic services but at my attempt to book an appointment for a root canal re-treatment, they lied. They lied about availbility, ability to serve those with my insurance (Medi-Cal) and claimed that their dentists don't qualify for performing the treatment I need.

Their website, however, claims that they offer root canal therapy and even shows an explanatory video that illustrates the exact procedure I need done!

I called my insurance (Medi-Cal) plenty of times and each time they have referred me to this office and dentist. Sandra Lara's office is listed under Medi-Cal endondontists that perform endodontic work. Upon calling their number, their automated message system claimed they perform all root-canal procedures and starting March 2022, they would take in new patients. At my attempt, I was turned away.

The front desk receptionist refused to let me speak with the dentist herself - Sandra Lara - and kept lying about why I could not be serviced. The story kept changing.

Upon calling Medi-Cal, the representative told me he has gotten complaints regarding this office before and that they continually lie about their ability to service Medi-Cal patients because the insurance doesn't pay as much as other insurance providers. He said sometimes they take Medi-Cal patients and other times they don't simply because they don't want to take us, even though they are contracted with Medi-Cal and listed as a provider that takes this insurance.

This, unfortunately, is a procedure I need done as soon as possible because it is now infected. The infection will only continue to grow and I need treatement fast. There are no other offices in Northern California so I have been forced to travel to Southern California to get an endodontist willing to take me in. I cannot afford this procedure unless I use my insurance and this office was supposed to take care of it because I was referred to them.

The dental office "Sandra P Lara DDS" provide some specific dental treatments to members of Medi-Cal Dental Insurance. The patients who request our services are informed with the list of dental procedures that we perform as well as the list of procedures that we do not perform BEFORE they are accepted as new patients. The overwhelming amount of members from Medi-Cal requiring services have forced our office to limit the dental services to basic root canals without complications.
We are not exclusive Medi-Cal providers, we work with other health insurances and there is only one dentist providing those services. The person making this review showed up to our office without invitation demanding dental services that we do not provide to her insurance. She did not accept any explanation and she was upset at not being allowed to talk to the dentist. Her behavior towards the front desk receptionist was disrespectful, disgusting and unpolite. We do not accept verbal or physical abuse from customers. It is understandable the frustration of patients that do not have enough provider's options to choose from however that is a problem that should be discussed with their health insurance. It will not be solved by making bad reviews and complains against professionals that are trying to help as much as possible. Dr Sandra P. Lara DDS
