I purchased tickets for an event scheduled for September 22, 2023 on May 18, 2023,the amount was $131.12. The event date came and after the event was scheduled to start it was rescheduled to a December date. When the December date came, the event never had a venue listed, and after it was scheduled to start it was rescheduled to February ****. Again there was never a venue listed and the event was rescheduled after the start time of the event. It has now been rescheduled to November ****. I have reached out to the event organizer requesting a refund, I have reached out to Eventbrite for a refund and recieve no reply. I have tried several times with contact for a refund. I get the same generic message from Eventbrite and I get no reply from the organizer.

I am rejecting this response because: it is the same generic response they have sent several times. The organizer does not reply, the purchase can only be disputed for 60 days after the purchase with my bank. My order qualifies under their refund policy so I want a refund.

      Complaint: 21268878

I am rejecting this response because:

The confirmation of the name-contact of the fraudulent-mimicked account registration was requested and will help to minimize any affiliation-association of the Eventbrite staff with the fraudulent-mimicked account.  The confirmed registration name-contact, registration dates (account opening-closures), number of registrants, and other relevant information ****will identify the unknown parties and the benefit-motivation for the deception-fraud; and potentially prevent any claims or negative affiliation-association of the fraudulent-mimicked account from third parties impacted, including registered attendee-participants.

Additionally, the Black Ivy League (BIVL) monthly event program schedule was cancelled by an internal source on the Eventbrite.com platform, before being rescheduled (last week).  Eventbrite.com is requested to confirm the source-reason for the multiple unauthorized scheduling cancellations.

This company sends invites to events and once you sign up for these events, you receive a confirmation email saying your tickets will be at ************* window. Upon arriving to these such events you are not given tickets you are told to wait in line until event time. But when event time rolls around they send everyone home telling them the event is full. This company is a scam. Hundreds of us was stuck waiting in the rain for three hours for a recent event only to be told to go home. Other companies use Eventbrite just to make there events look interesting and full from the outside of the event for the news media or social media.

I purchased a ticket on June 11, 2023. The show ended up being postponed twice. It was moved to a date on September 15th and it ended up being totally cancelled. I have since asked for a refund and tried to dispute it and has had no luck. They have no live person to speak with and the organizers that they say to contact is non existent. I would like my money back for a show that NEVER happened. I have since tried to report and email anyone, but has not had any luck.

I am rejecting this response because: I've been unable to get a response from the organizers through your eventbrite system. I found them through Instagram and they kept telling me that they would fix it and they didn't. I've tried to also reach out to you all *************** I put in a refund request way before the period that you claim that I didnt. I submitted it after the 2nd cancelation which was in September. It has been saying pending for almost 6 months now. This is ridiculous and your platform is terrible! I've been denied when I tried to file a claim through PayPal which I paid from. I just want my refund for a show that was cancelled twice and never happened.

October 2023, I ORGANIZED an event via Eventbrite for 12/31/2023 .December 3rd, 2023, Eventbrite locked me out of my account citing concerns over the language regarding door prizes, hats, and horns for New Year's Eve. I removed the flagged words, my account was repeatedly suspended, after correcting items they requested. Subsequently, Eventbrite alleged a violation of community guidelines and threatened to refund all ticket purchases, although they continued to disburse funds to me weekly through 12/7/2023, albeit withholding 20% of sales. Efforts to communicate with Eventbrite proved futile, as my attempts to speak with a live representative were met with automated responses. This lack of communication and customer support resulted in lost revenue and hindered online sales from December 3rd to December 21st, 2023. Furthermore, despite the completion of my event on January 1st, ****, Eventbrite has yet to release the final 20% of my sales, as indicated in their policy of disbursing funds within 3-7 days post-event. Despite numerous attempts to resolve the issue, including opening a case via their ******* support handle on January 12th, ****, promising a response within 3-5 days, I have received no communication from Eventbrite. Additionally, my visit to their corporate office in ************* on January 16th, ****, proved fruitless, as I found myself directed to virtual and shared office spaces, none of which were Eventbrite's actual corporate location. It's evident that human interaction in customer service has become obsolete, leading to immense frustration and financial strain due to lack of support and resolution. Their failure to return the promised 20% of sales feels akin to cyber theft, causing undue hardship for consumers like myself.case# [Eventbrite] Notice about your account [*************************]case# [Eventbrite] Notice about your account [*************************]

I am rejecting this response because:

The link provided in your response does not address the situation where organizers are suspended from their accounts. This prevents us from opening a case to address or research the issue, as we cannot log in. Hence, the reason for initiating this Better Business Bureau complaint. Despite reaching out via X (formerly ******** on January 12, ****, I am still awaiting a response from customer support. Relying on bots and AI to handle critical customer issues, leading to frustration and financial burden, is highly irresponsible for a corporate entity. There should be a fiduciary responsibility to offer a resolution avenue to consumers without intentional roadblocks blamed on AI. I am continuously taking time away from my job to pursue resolution and payment for funds held, which rightfully belong to me.

On July 10th, 2023 I purchased tickets to T-Pain ********************** for a total of $172.The organizer was supposed to provide Valid tickets after payment. On the date of the concert July 11th, 2023. I attempted to use both tickets that I was sold and I was told that the tickets were fraudulent and invalid. I was therefore turned away at the gate and told to request a refund from the organizer on the basis that they were not authorized to sell tickets through their website only ticketmaster. I contacted Eventbrite on multiple occasions and they committed to give me a refund and only did so by giving me a partial refund of $156.20 instead of the full amount that I paid. When it was due to their negligence that I was sold fraudulent tickets. This was a special circumstance in which one of their clients did not follow the guidelines and sold fake tickets. I would like to request a refund of the remaining $15.80. I would greatly appreciate it if their team can honor that, being that my circumstances are unique and the event organized was not authorized by ********** to sell his tickets through their platform. This has made it as to where I have ceased all purchases on their platform out of fear that there are more organizers selling fraudulent tickets to events.Order#**********- July 10, 2023

I've attached proof of the payment. Therefore, I am satisfied with this outcome and i thank the team at Eventbrite for correcting this situation. I look forward to having a positive uninterrupted experience with their platform from here on out.

      Sincerely,

      *****************************************

Purchased ticket s for curling at the Liberty lounge on 12/22/23 totaling $206.07 for a friends birthday. One condition was that Liberty would cancel with me should the weather be incompatible with outdoor curling. We showed up to wind so strong that it was blowing our box of food to the ground, tipped over the full carafe of hot chocolate (plus our full cups), and actually put us in danger because one wind gust actually lifted a table top out of its frame and it crashed at the end of the curling platform. Rather than offer us a refund or comp us dinner and drinks in the lounge (I spent an additional $240 in there), my number was taken down and I was told Id be called the next day. This was a Sunday (1/14/24) and by the next Saturday, I still had not received a call back from a manager. I called at 209pm and received a call back at 241pm (was told he was only manager there and would call me back after a meeting ended which he was attending- dont remember his name), and got this HORRIBLE attitude from a Liberty manager (a male) who was actually refusing to refund our entire purchase because Eventbrite keeps some of the moneywe dont get it all. I actually had to argue with this person who clearly needs coaching on how to handle critical conversations and what it means to work in a high-end boutique hotel. He actually gave me such attitude and said hed have to pay the difference between what Eventbrite keeps and what they made if I WAS INSISTING ON A FULL REFUND (insert maximum snarkiness). I live in Beacon Hill and will NEVER give another cent to this establishment; this is a city full of expensive establishments that my girlfriends and I can patronize.

On 6/15 I purchased a ticket for a yoga retreat. Payment was through Eventbrite. I paid with a credit card in good standing and not expired. The website offered the ability to pay through Apple Pay. I used this method of payment. ****** (in the email) was the event coordinator and has been working on my behalf. I have also reached out for resolution. The yoga retreat was cancelled and therefore a refund was requested. My refund is being denied and many excuses have been given. That I paid through PayPal (which is NOT true), that the credit card is expired (it is NOT). The company is refusing to pay my refund. There is a fee attached. At this time, because of the hassle and terrible customer service I am requesting a full refund of full payment.
