Eventbrite was used to handle tickets sales for an event I hosted, the Pan-American Shuai Jiao [*****************] Championships. After the event concluded, I expected payment from them within 3 days (as they stated). They have not paid. They have informed me that the verification process has been completed and is acceptable, but that there is glitch in their system that "has a banner" that tells the system not to issue payment.I reminded them that their glitch should not be my problem, and since they have agreed the money is mine ($5745) and that they have verification that it should be paid to me, they should issue a payment regardless of their system glitch. They can sort out their problem after they make the payment. But, they refuse to pay me. I have spent hours with them in chat-boxes wherein they give me the run around explain how sorry they are and that they understand how frustrating it is, but they do nothing to fix the problem. Thye refuse to give me the phone number of an ombudsman nor the phone number of anyone with the authority to issue the payment. I have asked for them to send me their Company Grievance Policy, but they have delayed that, as well.I have searched on-line to discover this is a regular occurrence for ******* seems to me that they either often deny payment completely or delay payment while they collect interest on customer's money.Business Response

Greetings:I was advised in an email by the BBB to inform you if the response from Eventbrite was unsatisfactory. It is unsatisfactory as it offers no steps at all towards resolution. It only acknowledges that they have done wrong by me, but with no mention that they would work towards completing the contract between us and making the payout for the ticket sales of the event I convened.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: it does not, in any way, address the issue. It is not an answer; it is merely paraphrased repetition of the several impotent responses I have been getting from Eventbrite do far.At no point does Eventbrite explain why, despite acknowledging that they owe the payments for the tickets they sold for my event, and further acknowledging the my verification has been complete and accepted, they refuse to complete the contract by forwarding my money.
Eventbrite has expressed to me by email, "[We] can see that you are already verified for the Stripe verification; however, we also found out that there is a known issue happening, even though the organizer is verified, there's still a banner on the finance section. " No explanation has been given as to what a "banner" is nor why it prevents payment. Eventbrite has acknowledged the money is mine; whatever glitch in this system that Eventbrite is having should not dictate whether or not they fulfil their contract and send payment.
Sending payment can be made regardless of their glitch.
Furthermore, I have asked for their ombudsman and was denied. asked for their company grievance policy and was denied. I asked for a PHONE NUMBER to speak with someone at the company and was denied. This suspicious behaviour leads one to believe that they are not interested in resolving issues, rather Eventbrite is interested in keeping money that does not belong to Eventbrite.
Sincerely,

This business hosted an event on 6/19/2025 for a rapper named Sada Baby. The day of the event I arrived at the venue and the venue was a ghost town. The event had been "rescheduled" 3 hours before it was set to start and no one was notified. The reschedule date was set for 7/5 which I was unavailable for. I disputed the transaction with my credit card company as this event did not happen, but the event was considered "nonrefundable". The organizer of the event reached out to me about a week later apologizing and stating she had issued me a refund which I would receive in 10 business days. This was on 7/2/2025. I have reached out to EventBrite regarding my refund at least 5 times since this date and I have not received any response whatsoever. I have not received my refund. Any contact online comes from an AI chatbot that tells me I need to log into an account, which I am already logged into! I am so frustrated. I contacted this company via ******** and I was told I NEED TO TRACK WHERE MY REFUND IS. They sent me a link with codes I need to request. Isn't that a business' responsibility? And imagine this, the code is something I'll need to send and receive an email for. I have been sending this company emails for weeks and have not received a response. Finally, Eventbrite sent me a "contact us" form (via their ********) and the link was prefilled with "I can't log in" as the title. I filled the form out and I was told I would receive a response "soon". It's been 5 hours with no response. I reached out to EventBrite again via ******** and now a bot is chatting with me and providing me with AI responses. I just want my $57.03 back from an event that did NOT happen. Looking through this company's comments and reviews online, there is nothing but negative reviews of people having the same experiences. Please help me.Business Response

I bought a ticket to a speed dating event hosted by DateFaster. The event was cancelled the day of and I was not issued a refund. I attempted to reach out to the event organizer and did not recieve a response. So I checked Eventbrite for details on refunds. Their policy is clear and unambiguous, when an event is cancelled, the organizer MUST issue a refund. In the event that the organizer doesn't issue a refund, Eventbrite can use funds from the organizer's account to pay the refunds on their behalf. Every contact with Eventbrite has led to the suggestion for me to do one of the following:Contact the event organizer: I have three times, they are not responding Fill out the online refund form: I have twice, it got rejected once and ignored the second time Email support: I have twice, they have told me to contact the organizer, and fill out the ******* make matters worse, there is a complaint from 6/26 on BBB by someone who got scammed in the exact same way from the exact same organizer. Eventbrite responded to the complaint by repeating the same suggestions that I included above. Therefore, Eventbrite is continuing to host known scam event planners without taking any action to stop it. Since Eventbrite keeps a commission and profit from these sales, this can only be described as an entirely scam filled malicious business practice.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: As stated in my original complaint, I already followed the steps on the refund page twice and have not recieved a refund. This is not a satisfactory way of resolving the problem. This response also does nothing to address the issue of Eventbrite knowingly hosting a scam event planner on their website after recieving complaints, evidence of the scam, and failing to refund customers in the past. The offending host is still hosting events on Eventbrite and therefore Eventbrite continues to knowingly profit from these scams.

I am rejecting this response because: As mentioned in my original complaint, the only responses Eventbrite is capable of offering are to contact the event organizer and fill out the refund request form. Also as mentioned the event organizer has failed to respond to any of my several attempts to reach out to them and the refund request for was denied by Eventbrite when I originally filled it out. Eventbrite continues to copy/paste the same canned responses that I recieved several times prior to filing this original complaint. Therefore it is obvious that this resolution is not sufficient. As an update, since my initial complaine, I have recieved a refund sent through Eventbrite. Whether this refund was initiated by the original event host or Eventbrite itself has not been made clear to me. It is unclear if a refund would have been given had I not went through my credit card to reverse the charges or spoke frequently and in depth with the Eventbrite support team (often being told the same two pieces of advice above over and over).
While I have personally been made whole again after this situation, I must note that the offending event host ************** still has several events listed on Eventbrite's website. I called the bar where my event was supposed to take place and they told me that they were never made aware of the event. While I recieved an email in advance notifying that the event was cancelled, several other ticket buyers went to the bar and everyone was confused as no Speed Dating event was ever scheduled for that bar.
In the end, I cannot feel comfortable with Eventbrite's resolution here. My experience combined with other complaints online (on BBB and Reddit) from people who bought tickets to these events demonstrates a clear lack of oversight and conflict resolution from the Eventbrite team. Eventbrite has failed to even address the issues with DateFaster in my previous complaints, ignoring those in favor of repeating the same 2 lines about how to get a refund. The only resolution that will make me and others feel safe using your site again is to remove offending hosts like this and to stand by customers who are the victims of scams.
Sincerely,

On 4-5-2025 I purchased 2tickets for the ***** and boots festival held July 12th. The 1st ticket was my entry fee of *****, the 2nd was the chair pass for ***** a total of *****. On 4-24-2025 I was the victim of a workplace accident which left me out of work and injured with strict restrictions and a boot on my left ankle. I have requested a refund through the ticketing app. In an email received from the company eventbrite it says refunds would be processed by the end of the event. I have yet to hear back or receive a refund. I feel as though due to my circumstances I should have gotten a refund way before now. Also the event was misleading from the date I purchased the tickets things changed and event details were very different.Business Response

I purchased tickets back in March of this year. I needed to cancel due to a family emergency. I submitted a request for a refund on July 4. I received a message stating I was eligible for a refund and would be contacted within five days. I didn’t get a response so I emailed the organizer via social media.. I responded to the numerous emails they sent out regarding the event… and I inboxed event brite via their social media. They kept asking me to contact the organizer and if got no response do a trouble ticket for IT via event brite site. Still no response. I didn’t attend the festival and I need my money back. They are giving me the run around. There are numerous customer complaints on social media about the same issue. I am tired of getting the running around about my refund. I need my money immediately . My original ticket order number was ***********. And my refund request number is ********. The festival was today still no responseBusiness Response

I have not received payment for ticket sales from my event. I hosted an event in April of this year, this is my third year using Eventbrite for our event. Payment was mailed but never received. I attempted to contact eventbrite on to be forced into their AI help chat. The chat bot stated that if the check would expire in 90 days. There is no option to report the check lost/stolen. No one to contact to see if it was cashed. I am rejecting this response because I have already exhausted the limited online help options and none provide me with a way to request a reissue of payment.the complaint clearly states that the available online options were already explored and the business responded with a link to the same resources.
1. The check was never received
2. We waited the 90 days for check to expire and the reissue option is not available.
3. we have vendors to pay and no way to escalate this issue.
4. The contact us option takes you to an AI chat.
5 AI chat refers you to the help center website that has broken links (screenshots attached)6. Its unacceptable that no option exists to report a check lost or stolen. Eventbrite makes the client wait 90 days for a check to expire leaving them vulnerable to fraud.
I need the payment reissued.

We are a self-service ticketing platform that event organizers use to set up and sell tickets for their events. Event organizers manage all aspects of their event including addressing event details and refund requests.
If you have already requested a refund from the organizer and havent heard back, please note that Eventbrite requires event organizers to approve refund requests in certain situations.
If the event was cancelled or postponed, review the section in this article titled Refunds for postponed or cancelled events. Tickets purchased were not as advertised. Tickets purchased were VIP Entry tickets on the 4th of july at ************** in ********. All you can eat food buffet for "vip" was empty 1 hour after event started and there was no VIP Entry to any part of this event. Not the line to get inside the event or the food/drink. Why did I pay double for the same service the person in front of me got? VIP entry was the 1st 2 words explaining what you got after the ticket price and the only reason upgraded purchase was made. Already denied refund when I asked for the difference of "VIP" Tickets from regular ticket since I would have enjoyed myself and had the same experience with the standard ticket. Did not get what was advertised for twice the money. Stayed an extra night in *** for this event and felt like it was misrepresented on many levels.Business Response

I've been in contact with Eventbrite for well over 2 months. Their website keeps telling me I'm an attendee and not an organizer, because I don't have any current events as my event has passed and closed. They sent a payout to the wrong address via check. The financial institution did not have that address. They sent out a check regardless because on their end it keeps saying there's no financial institution added even though there is a *** bank account with three different accounts attached to it in lieu of receiving these event freight funds for our 25th class reunion. It is $1,089 that I am waiting for! I keep getting the it must be frustrating. I know blah blah blah blah. I don't wan1089.00t the blanket statements. I don't care about their website and issues. It is not my problem that their website is not functioning the way it should! I am not going to wait around for their website to start working for me the way it should because their system isn't functioning. I have been in contact with support 20+ times ,I even opened a specific account within ein, just four these funds. Just to have them sent the wrong address, not the listed financial institution. I don't see what the holdup is. Trying to reissue a new check as their website and app for the organizers will not allow me to do anything as it has been considered a final payment and to the system it is done. It does not give me any other options to go into the financial institution portion and have different options! I have done this so many times that I feel I know their website better than them. I would like a check reissued to the correct address immediately. The communication is useless as the person above stated delay tactics. I find they are correct. Send a new check ASAP Payout ID ********* Event ID ***********Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:Clearly still stalling and disregarding everything I am stating and all the receipts I have brought. I have done everything requested of me and yet still haven't had no resolution and would upload even more screenshots of our conversations that have been going on for way too long. As soon as they realized it was sent to the wrong address, it should have been canceled and reissued.
As I was assured and you can see ******** promised she would be on it and resolute it within 3 days! That was well over a week ago! I believe that people are copying and pasting responses and not actually doing customer care when there is no other valid way to contact them for help. As you can clearly see, everything is updated on my end and yet they still use the same excuses. So therefore, I don't believe this company is actually using people that are reading and responding and doing their actual jobs. It is probably more of an automated system where somebody clicks a response when they get an inbox message .
The app & website, will actually Not allow you to go through the help center, actively trying to cherry pick who is allowed to get help, if in the past you've already placed a request and we're trying to get a response for additional help. The way they handle consumers using their service Lacks transparency and actively stalls People that need help. They have continued to respond in the same ***** manner without any resolution in sight!
Sincerely,
***** ******
