    Other than them not providing a report on one of my children the experience was good. They do answer their phones just not helpful in addressing the issue of getting the report resent even if you provide an updated fax number.

    Had tests done in Apr - Was quoted ZERO cost, that these were completely covered. Today I get a bill for the testing. 10 months later. If you ever have any testing to do through these liars, which I do not recommend, get proof of their false claims so you can defend yourself later.**********, as I read through all the reviews here, I see that these practices are just how the company works. Wish I'd seen this before. Read the reviews here people, before you deal with these crooks and liars.

    I also have had a terrible experience with this company. I got a NIPS Test in May of 2022 and was quoted $100 without using my insurance. I had my baby in November of 2022, and did not hear a peep from this company until October 2023. A year and a half later?! They have been contacting me this past month and telling me they charged my insurance $1400 and my insurance did not cover all of it, so I now owe $600. My insurance lets me know whenever I have a claim filed, and it has not shown up through my insurance AT ALL. I thought for sure this was a scammer pretending to be invitae until I googled it and found these reviews. I will be telling my OBGYN office about my experience because I am sure they would think twice before recommending a shady company such as this to their patients.

    I would give ZERO stars if I could. This company is a complete scam. I'm upset that my gyno office is even associated with them. I received a text message from them that I would have to pay $100 out of pocket (fine, no big deal), my gyno informed me that it shouldn't be more than $250 to run the testing.. MONTHS after I received my test results, I am now hearing from INVITAE that my bill for the testing is $1,890 because my insurance didn't cover it all. First off, why wasn't I informed that my insurance wasn't going to cover the whole test... I never would have agreed to the test being ran if that was the case. Mind you, it should have been covered considering this test was for preventative measures. Now all the sudden I'm hit with this whole bill thats close to $2,000 and they are trying to set me up with a payment plan to pay it off. They call you and say "hey send me your tax income information and we can get your bill down to $0 possibly", absolutely not. They are scammers, do not let them take advantage of you. Avoid this company at ALL costs. Find someone more reputable.

    My doctor recommended I do a cancer screening due to multiple family members having cancer and me being high risk. They recommended Invitae so we provided the sample. Before testing my sample, Invitae sent me an email quoting $100 out of pocket for the test after insurance. I now have a bill for $1,136.88. I dont understand why there is a $1,000 difference between my quote and the final invoice. I could understand maybe $100 more, but this is 11x the amount they quoted which is outrageous. Its a classic bait and switch strategy, and I would never recommend testing from this company to anyone for their malicious business practices.

    I opted to get a genetic test done for breast cancer markers due to family history. I was told by my doctors office that I would receive an email with an estimated cost, if the cost was more than $250 then I should contact Invitae and change to cash pay (which would be $250). My email stated an estimated cost of $0-$50, so I did not contact invitae since the estimate was less than $250. I the. Received a bill for $850, my doctors office attempted to contact ******* multiple times and never heard back. I called and was told that the email is only an estimate, after being persistent I was told that they could reduce my cost to $250 if I paid today. I would never recommend this company. They quoted me low, billed my insurance and then still got the $250 from me. It may be legal but its still unethical.

    Very similar experience to many of the other reviews! I opted for NIPS with Invitae, because they stated a faster turn-around time than the options in BC (**** days). The whole point was to have the genetic screening done early to feel comfortable telling friends and family ********! A month later we are still waiting on the results. I only found out that they required an updated requisition from my Dr, because I contacted the customer service to find out why processing was so delayed. Now they've received that, but say it doesn't specify the test. They ALREADY charged me for the specific test, so they've obviously already processed the original requisition. Completely unprofessional company, with very poor communication.

    The hospital I go to for all my checkups outsources some of their genetic screening to Invitae. The genetic results were clear and delivered quickly, however, Invitae unfortunately scammed me for my money. I received an email from Invitae in February quoting my out-of-pocket expenses to be $175 for having this genetic panel done. The email explicitly said "No immediate action is needed on your part for us to proceed with processing your test and billing insurance."In July, I received a bill from Invitae for $427.21, which they stated were my out-of-pocket expenses after insurance reviewed my claim. They also stated that they have sent me multiple invoices (which they absolutely did not) and that the balance was due in 3 days. I reached out to the genetic counselor at the hospital to see what was going on and she informed me that Invitae will settle the out-of-pocket expenses for much cheaper if you pay by cash. But that cheaper price can only occur BEFORE they send your claim to insurance, otherwise things get messy (which I unfortunately learned). I called Invitae to settle the cash payment and they charged me $250 instead of $175, stating that I missed my window to make a cheaper cash payment. So their method is to send a quote to patients and intentionally tell the patient there is nothing for them to do. This then allows Invitae to send the claim to insurance, receive a much larger out-of-pocket estimate, and then they settle the bill with the patient for a larger cash payment.It's very unfortunate that this company scams patients this way. I hope my story can help protect future patients. Make sure to call Invitae the moment they quote you for the genetic test even though they say not to do anything in the email. You will save a lot of money and stress that way.

    The online genetic counselor service I went with utilized this lab for genetic testing with a supposed 2-3 week turn around time. It has now been a month, and we still have not received results. I have reached out to the company three times by email and twice by phone, and have never reached anyone, aside for receiving one generic canned email response. Total FRAUD.
