I have worked two shifts for this company over two weeks ago and after speaking with over four associates, I continue to be told the issue is being escalated with no further information. This company also REFUSES to provide a phone number, all support options are pre written FAQs which are completely unhelpful. I just want to be paid for the work I did.Business Response

A payment attempt for Ms. ********* completed shifts failed due to incorrect banking information. Ms. ******* was notified of this issue and was instructed to update her banking information, which she confirmed she had done later that day.
Despite the updated information, Ms. ******* reported that she had not received her payment, leading to multiple follow-ups on her part. Our team acknowledged the issue and escalated it internally. We apologize for the time it took to resolve this matter.
The outstanding payment has now been successfully processed, and the issue is considered resolved. We apologize for the delay and any inconvenience this may have caused Ms. ************

I am an independent contractor who worked with WorkWhile for nearly three years with a 5.0-star rating, assigned to the same client location 56 days per week for 16 consecutive months. On July 19, 2025, without warning, my account was locked due to a flagged MVR. Despite repeated outreach via email, voicemail, and in-app chat to multiple support agents, I received no communication from the company for over two weeks. This lockout caused significant loss of income, emotional distress, and disruption to my work.On July 28, 2025, I formally raised concerns about racial bias and discrimination in the handling of my case. I still received no response. On August 3, 2025, five days later, I sent a follow-up reiterating my prior concerns and adding that I would move forward with legal action if I did not receive a response. Then and only then on August 4, 2025, I was contacted by ***, a Support Lead. On or around that same day, WorkWhile also published a rare ************* featuring another woman with my first name and a similar profile, which I believe was a targeted public relations move to undermine my credibility. While my account was restored, the company offered only $500 to resolve the matter. This is grossly inadequate to cover my documented losses, emotional distress, and reputational harm. I am disputing $111,111.11 in damages based on my amended arbitration demand, which reflects the scope of financial and non-financial harm caused by WorkWhiles prolonged inaction, inconsistent treatment, and bad faith handling of my case.Business Response

I've been working shifts provided through WorkWhile 3-4 days a week for the past 4 months and I enjoy the platform and working the different shifts. This has been my only source of money recently so it is very important to me and I often recieve 5 star ratings from the supervisors I work for. On 7-20-25, I unfortunately suddenly became very ill due to what is believed to be serious food poisoning or a stomach bug which knocked me out for a solid 24hrs. I had a shift scheduled for 7-21-25 which I missed due to this awful illness but had not realized I had been out as long as I was so when I finally was able to contact WorkWhile support and try to explain, my account had already been blocked. I was told to submit a doctor's note but I never went to a doctor because I was out cold in bed and currently do not have health coverage so then was told to submit an appeal which I did immediately through the provided appeals link. I informed the chat support when I had finished it, got no response. I check in again on 7-25-25, no response. I remember I am provided telehealth service through the app so I am able to recieve a doctor's note on 7-26-25 and submit that before the week deadline, still no response. 7-29-25 I am now just asking if I can just get a response and still nothing. I've recieved no emails to my inbox, I cannot start a new chat anywhere and phone calling was useless. Because my account is blocked, the scheduled shifts (6) I had booked at the beginning of the month for the next 2 weeks were all taken away from me and of course, any other shifts, I may have picked up during the week. This is severely impacting my ability to pay my bills and I have done all that is required of me to reinstate my account but I can't even get a response. I've been a loyal and hardworking member on this platform and I'm just trying to get back to work.Initial Complaint

I am filing this complaint to express my concern and frustration regarding a strike I received from WorkWhile, which has remained unresolved since may 16. I have provided all the necessary documentation and have waited for their full 90-day period policy but yet no action has been taken on their end. The only acknowledgment i have received as a response was that management had been made aware, yet I have not received any follow-up. Any opportunity for work is extremely valuable which is why I have made every effort to follow and communicate almost every other day hoping for a reply however their lack of communication from their support team is very unfortunate. I have not received any answer to whether i can continue or not.Business Response

I worked five shifts total on workwhile. I never got paid for the last two shifts I worked which was on July 4th, 2025 and July 5th, 2025 both shifts were scheduled for 5:00 pm to 3:30 am which I showed up and worked both and I have proof I was there. I am owed $365 that I cannot cash out due to SSN not verified when Ive verified it three times and all time support was able to fix the issue but now support hasnt answered and I havent received my money. It is not workwhiles job to hold money at all and due to this I will never work with them again and letting my family and friends know to get off the app.Business Response

Good Morning - this worker needed to validate their social security number with our payment processor before we could pay them. The worker completed this process and we were able to pay the worker in full for their time on July 4th and July 5th. We were in contact with the worker during this time and now consider this matter closed. Thank you!Customer Answer

Im extremely disappointed with the customer support Ive received from **********************, especially from the agent named ******. Despite being active and responding for three days, ****** has consistently refused to help me after I uploaded valid documentationa doctors noteproving I had a medical emergency. According to WorkWhiles policy, medical emergencies should not result in a strike, yet I still received one unfairly.Ive done my part by following the process, submitting all required proof, and reaching out in a timely manner. Justins unwillingness to resolve the issue or even acknowledge my medical documentation has left me feeling ignored and mistreated. This lack of accountability and support is unacceptable for a company that claims to value its workers.I hope WorkWhile takes this feedback seriously and improves its support systems to treat workers with fairness and basic human decency.Business Response

I was on the waitlist for a shift working for Thistle. I get a text from WorkWhile saying an opening had occurred. I click on link and it sends me to the app. I have to open the app and by the time I open the app the shift is gone. This has happened to me twice. Normally the link sends me right to the job and then I get to click on all the boxes which takes a while and sometimes I stilldont get the shift.Initial Complaint

I applied at the Work while app and was accepted to work. I completed the orientation only to find that there is no jobs listed in my area. I love fairly close to major cities, so I'm unsure how there are no jobs available. I feel that if there was nothing available they would have known that before I wasted my time doing the orientation. This company seems like a scam to me. All I wanted was a job and I feel as if I was led on by this company.Initial Complaint

I am an independent contractor for WorkWhile I worked on December the 14th and was clocked in and never received wages. For that date I then worked again on the 30th for the last home game for the Commanders. I've contracted with Workwhile for six months now and haven't had any issues other than the lies from tech support. I reached out to Workwhile about my pay for the 30th and I was informed I'd be paid between the 30th and the 5th. I never had any issues with this company while contracting now I've been sat because I complained that I was told I'd get paid yesterday and never did after they told me they were sending the money to my account since I couldn't access my account.Business Response

WorkWhile is a Gig Economy app that promises to connect independent contractors with third-party businesses. I entered the verification process, which included signing paperwork and submitting personal information, because I wanted to apply for a gig at ***************. The app promises that verification will take 1-2 business days, and customer service representatives promise that it will take ***** hours. Based on my experience with **** and the simplicity of the task, I expected it to take less than 12 hours. It has now been 92 hours since I submitted my paperwork to be verified on Monday night. The customer service representatives have been no help. They vaguely promise that they will "reach out to the reviewer" and "do our best to expedite the review," but it has been 20 hours since I last received such a promise, and there have been no developments. Overall, the team must either be slacking off or woefully understaffed, possibly both. They have broken their promise to deal with my verification in a timely manner, which, in a gig app context, can have serious material consequences. This business tends to be very competitive and time-sensitive, and I have been stressing out for the past couple days wondering if I would be verified before someone else snapped up the ****** occurred to me to contact the business directly. That's when I started to notice the next problem. The business name was "*****************," but the logo read ******************* I ran a reverse image search on the logo, and found out that it had only ever been used on stock image sites like Adobe and Shutterstock. Something is very fishy with this listing. I haven't contacted WorkWhile about it. I don't expect they would care. On top of that, the design of the app makes it difficult to find your way through all the pre-written FAQ pages and get to an actual customer service representative. At this point, I plan to terminate my account.Business Response

We've investigated the issue further and there was a bug in our system that has now been fixed. **** is eligible for W2 shifts and she can now accept shifts on our platform.
