They charged me ********************************************************************************************************************** I did not get a chance to even respond to the person. I spoke with Thumbtack regarding this, and they refused to credit back my money. Why am I being charged for a lead that the customer canceled within two minutes. I also have several leads that were sent to me and I would communicate with this customer.. the customer never even read my response on how much it would cost anything but I was still charged $30 for that one. They are double dipping, charging three different pros about $30 each for the same lead. They are a horrible company. They are making millions of dollars by charging three or four for the same lead

Zero stars.. outright theft of wages for no service. Had to give 1 star, ? but it really does not deserve that. Ask my son, who hasl been losing his hard earned money in exchange for nothing. No one from the company has responded to him while he is continually robbed by this entity.

The sales representative for Thumbtack told our daughter that she could get back her $200 lead credit if using their service did not work out for her. When she asked for her money back, they told her it was in the small print at the bottom of one of their FAQ webpages that they do not do refunds. Then, they called her a liar even though she gave them the name of the sales rep., and the ************* he had told her she could get a refund.This seems like questionable sales tactics to me.

Their professionals are not good from my last experience. The door installer was to bring a new door that was stained to match, he never came back. I eventually had to sell my home with his work not completed. Do not use this service, Have the other people that gave me estimates were almost uneducated ding dongs. They will use anyone that signs up as a contractor.

I have hired ******************* of ************ company in ***** **** thru Thumbtack, to patch and paint my ceiling. Upon completion we agreed that he will be paid by a check that I will send electronically. It took several days for the bank to deliver a paper check but it was delivered, signed and cashed by the recipient. Nevertheless, said contractor reported to Thumbtack that he had never received the payment. So Thumbtack took his words for granted and removed my account. Just like that. I can prove that I did pay the contractor. I have a screenshot of the payment and a PDF file of the check. Sure enough, the $300 came out from my bank account. Too bad that the Thumbtack doesnt bother to double check and takes their contractors words for granted. **** never use them again and dont recommend.

This agency is horrible, they do not respond to email in a timely fashion, they respond with non-educational information, they waste your time, they do not offer help with login information whether you are a seller, or a buyer, if there is a complaint, and it is not legitimate. They do not remove it, they are the bottom of the bottom of agencies, I feel bad for anyone who is trying to post for legitimate services, I belong to four other agencies, and I have tried to help this company via email, via text message, and via phone, and they are just stagnant and antiquated - I have also executed a background check more than 10 years ago and they keep asking me for background check, but the link does not work so I cannot follow through with trying to jump through their hoops to log in to respond to a potential client. Sad.

Used to be a good company but now they are so greedy. When leads are fake or for completely unrelated services they REFUSE to refund after wasting your time on the phone for an hour. RUN from this corrupt company.

I almost came back to thumbtack but Im SO happy I didnt. My account was wrongfully deactivated in 2022, to which I had to reach out to the *** to have it reinstated. Well guess what! I logged in today and its deactivated AGAIN! Im so glad I found my way out of this app. I have an ebook thats scheduled to launch in a few days and I was going to mention thumbtack, but *** decided to omit them completely. They are cut throat and devious. The lead prices get higher and higher everyday while the quality of service is only getting worse! If youre only the platform, screenshot all of your reviews and make sure that youre ready for when they decide to curbtail you.

my name is ***********************. On March 18th,2024 I signed up with Thumbtack to receive moving leads to help my moving business grow better. At this time i sent ********************* ****************************************************** feel like, if i sent him the ************************************************************* that i would receive move request. however, once he received my money, he stopped talking over the phone with me. Three moving requests came in over my phone. I text the people back with my price quote and i never heard back from any of them. Then i noticed that my money started disappearing from my account balance. I then called **************** with my complaint but he did not answer my call, He started texting me stating that he was in a meeting. I asked him to call me ASAP that we needed to talk. At this point and time, He has never called or texted me back. On Thursday 3/28/2024 at 3:37 pm. I texted him asking that he give me a phone call before the end of his work shift today or If he did not, I would be filing a complaint against him with the Better Business Bureau. I'm very upset and disappointed with ********************* because I invested my 200 dollars with his company to make more money for my family . I feel that he scammed and lied to me to get me to hurry and send him my money. I'm requesting a total refund of my 200 dollars.

I wish I would have read all these reviews before getting started on thumbtack pro last week. Creating an account is about the only free feature on this app. You need to spend a minimum of $30/week to even show up in searches for a handyman. The app then sends you leads which match your preferences which have cost me $6-$25 each. They also send other pros the same leads and charges them as well. So far Ive spent $120 on leads and have only been paid $65. Half my leads havent responded at all but Im still charged. Once you hit your weekly limit you dont get anymore leads unless you agree to spend more. Even if the customer decides to hire someone else, you still pay. They gave me 2 courtesy refunds and are now denying the rest. I decided to write this review after they charged me $13 for a lead where the customer asked me to put 2 screws in the wall then stopped responding. Oh and their customer support is done via text message, red flag! You can also view opportunities which are 2-3x more expensive than leads but again, even if they decide to hire some else or stop responding, bam. You just paid thumbtack $25 to chat with someone who wasnt even ready to hire and its their policy not to refund you. Its not communicated to the customers that pros are getting charged just to look at their requests. By the end of the week I will net $345 which came from leads that cost me $46. This means I spent $74 on bogus leads where they didnt respond at all, stopped responding after 1 message, hired someone else, etc. If youre thinking about starting out as a handyman do not use thumbtack. If youre a customer that uses ********************, youre likely paying more than they would normally charge to cover thumbtacks fee while supporting an unethical company that is stealing money from people.
