1 starThese guys are pirates! They will leave you broke with the worst of leads, and leave you in debt before making any money for yourself or your business. (If you even get to make money) They do not care if you get hired, they get paid regardless of of our backs. The leads are inferior, just like Thumbtack. Do not use them as I did! Try other apps , I promise you will get your time and money wasted with them. Look at their rating on here!Thumbtack, Inc.

1 starI am a longtime Top Pro at Thumbtack with extremely high ratings, ranking, and reviews - so this is written with deep experience and knowledge of their business model. I have spent tens of thousands of dollars with this company. More and more in the past two years, Thumbtack treats its Pros fraudulently. They create fake leads using bots to scam contractors out of overpriced lead fees and offer no real customer service. 75% of the fake bot clients never even respond after posting job requests, and the other 25% intentionally post in the wrong category. I have actually interviewed so called clients who do not respond by finding their addresses through a web search and asking them to call me. Guess what? Over half say they NEVER EVEN POSTED ON THUMBTACK TO BEGIN WITH. I have filed a report with the ***, my congress person, our local police department fraud division and district attorney with the dozens of cases I have uncovered. We will proceed with a civil case based upon those investigations. Class action lawsuit, everybody?!?!Dont even bother calling the number given on every boiler plate response from their mouthpiece in every one star review on here. Theyll just waste more of your time and deny your request in the end. Lawyer up and file complaints with your local authorities, agencies and elected officials. Time to stop this evil empire.Thumbtack, Inc.

1 starThis company is HORRIBLE!!!!!! I set my service parameter to very specific towns in *****************, ** to find out within 24 hours of setting up an account with them, they are charging me $45 for a lead in the state of **!!!!!!!!!! Thank you for sharing your experience with us, *****. We recognize that receiving incorrect leads can be frustrating, and that is why we highly encourage our pros to verify that their job locations and targeting preferences are set correctly. That way, you are only charged for the leads you want that match your targeting preferences.
It looks like that lead did match the set job locations you had on your profile and will not be eligible for a refund. However, if you do make adjustments to your travel areas and notice future mismatched leads, please submit them for a refund here: ***********************************************************************************************;
We hope this provides insight into why this lead was denied a refund. If you have any additional questions or concerns, please reach out to the agent working your most recent case. We would love to help you find success at Thumbtack!

1 star**Review of Brick/Mortar Job by Atlanta Chimney Experts and Atlanta Masonry Construction Experts:** Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at 9:30 AM After inspecting the completed work, I noticed several concerns regarding the mortar between the bricks. The mortar appears to be cracking and falling apart. Additionally, it seems that there was a lack of matching mortar, as gray mortar was used instead.I also encountered issues with my garage doors. While the problem with the left side was resolved, the right side did not close properly when I left for an appointment. I think of Thumbtack as similar to a dollar storeyou get a mix of good and bad, and sometimes its worse. This was by far the worst company I have dealt with in terms of integrity and customer service, and it will be my last time using Thumbtack. It feels risky to use their services, and their 100% money-back guarantee is misleading. They allow companies the chance to correct their mistakes, but the company I dealt with showed a lack of integrity. Their employee was rude, dishonest, and refused to take any accountability for their poor performance. My only hope is that they do it right the second time; otherwise, I may have to find someone else. I wrote a review on the company site for anyone to read, but please stay clear of this and Thumbtack. Wednesday, July 30, 2025.Thumbtack, Inc.

2 starsThey will steal your money and not refund it regardless of how terrible of a lead that they "provide"...My experience was not a positive one. Thumbtack made more money this month than I did....Only 2 solid leads yet was charged for 10, thus 8 trash leads that still cost $40-50 EACH. The leads are not good, you get charged for "window-shoppers" and they don't have real customer service professionals. No one will respond to your refund request. Sincerely, PRICE on the Mic.Thumbtack, Inc.

We understand the frustration that comes with a lead that does not turn into a hire. However, Thumbtack's goal is to connect you to local customers; we cannot promise a hire every time. Our hope is that the leads you are receiving are high-quality. If you're unhappy with the types of leads you've been receiving, we'd recommend updating your job types and targeting preferences. 1 starUnfair Handling of Dispute No Protection for Customers I used ********************** to hire a mover and paid a deposit in good faith. After agreeing on a price, the provider later increased the fee significantly. When I chose to cancel due to this bait-and-switch, the provider refused to return the depositeven though no services were provided.I reported the issue to Thumbtack expecting fair mediation, but they closed the case stating they couldnt require a refund. Their justification ignored the core issue: the price was changed after our agreement, and I canceled because of that.This lack of protection makes the platform feel unsafe. It opens the door for dishonest providers to keep deposits with no accountability. Thumbtack failed to uphold trust, and Im extremely disappointed with how they handled the situation.Customers deserve better.Review fromShantelle B

1 starDo not use them for leads!!! They have pulled over a $100 for leads from me and I haven't even accepted or responded to the leads! They won't return my money They are definitely scam artists!Thumbtack, Inc.

1 starFrustrating Experience for Small Business Owners As a professional using Thumbtack to grow my business, Ive found the platform to be incredibly unfair. Ive been charged over $100 for two leads simply because the customer selected my company directlyyet neither responded at all. These types of charges are automatic and non-refundable, even when theres zero interaction.Worse, Ive received leads completely outside my job preferences or with incomplete/inaccurate information, yet I'm still billed $50+ for them. It feels like a system designed to generate revenue for Thumbtack, not to actually help small businesses succeed.If you're a small business owner trying to build your reputation and get real leads, I do not recommend Thumbtack. There are much more transparent and cost-effective platforms out there. You're better off investing your money in ****** Ads or local marketing strategies where you have more control and accountability.Thumbtack, Inc.

1 starI recently looked at Thumbtack to increase my client leads and quickly realized it seemed scammy and I decided to not continue. They flooded me with emails that doesn't have option to unsubscribe. unsubscribe button or link in their marketing emails. This is mandated by laws like the CAN-SPAM Act in the *************, which requires businesses to provide a clear and conspicuous way for recipients to opt-out of future marketing emails. Failure to include a functioning unsubscribe mechanism can lead to penalties and legal issues which I will pursue if it continues. 100% DON'T RECOMMEND.Thumbtack, Inc.
