My ex fiance and I ordered a bed though this company for payment plans. It was ordered through them from sleep country. The order was canceled, but somehow I'm being charged for a product I canceled. They will not take my bank account off their records because my ex fiance made the account, and used my bank account. They won't refund me, and won't take my bank account off her file without her concent. We are no longer together as she cheated on me, and I can't contact her anymore. I want my money back, and my account off this transaction.

Thank you for the opportunity in responding to Mr. ********* BBB complaint. PayBright has reviewed Mr. ********* complaint which states his request for a refund on payments he did not authorize.

Upon review, Mr. ******* does not have any active loans with PayBright. PayBright is unable to take action or disclose information for another customer's account.

At this time, ********************** does encourage that Mr. ******* proceeds with disputing any unauthorized charges with his financial institution by filing chargebacks. This will allow PayBright to properly investigate the claim and ensure an appropriate resolution for the matter.

Additionally, PayBright also recommends that Mr. ******* verify if he may have given someone he knows, or lives with, permission to use his payment instrument and to have them contact PayBright directly. If this is not the case, PayBright will assess his chargeback disputes accordingly.

We apologize for any frustration this situation may have caused Mr. ******** In the event that he has any further questions, we encourage for him to contact PayBright directly via email.

I have an affirm account for which I have been paying monthly by automatic withdrawal. I have been trying to change my phone number for months, as I have moved from another province and this is the only way to gain access to the account. I have been escalating complaints since April 26 and have heard nothing back. When I call, the people at the call centre do not have any one for me to speak to with regards to getting it done. They just say they can escalate it again. I have asked to speak with a manager, who was supposed to call me within ***** hours. This request was put in on May 22.I just want to update my phone number to have access to my account and they are making it extremely difficult to complete.

Thank you for the opportunity in responding to ****************** BBB complaint. Affirm has reviewed ****************** complaint which states her request for the phone number on her Affirm account to be updated.

Please note, Affirm customer phone numbers function as their login credentials. For that reason, Affirm has measures in place to ensure personal information is safe and secure. To that end, Affirm sometimes requires additional verification when customers update their contact info.

Affirm's records indicate that on May 21, 2023, ************** called and spoke with Affirm requesting an update to the phone number on her account. ********************** sent ************** emails with instructions to provide her ID for verification purposes. Regrettably, there were issues with completing this step.

On June 5, 2023, Affirm received confirmation that these instructions were completed. An email was sent later that day confirming the update was completed.

Affirm apologizes for any frustration this situation may have caused **************. In the event that she has any further questions, we encourage for her to contact Affirm directly via email.

      Business Response

      Date: 06/09/2023

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to ************************************* BBB complaint. Affirm has reviewed ************************************* complaint which states his concerns with the credit reporting of his Affirm loan.

Affirms records indicate that loan AJGD-CR19 processed on November 9, 2018, for a purchase with BodyKits.com. The agreed upon repayment terms of the loan are 6 installments of $171.53 at an APR of *****% and payment due on the 9th of each month. On April 9, 2019, the loan was charged off after having an overdue balance for 120 days.

Affirm encourages all customers to make payments on or before the scheduled due date. You wont incur any late fees, but late payments may impact your ability to take out future loans with Affirm. If your payment is 30 or more days overdue some loans may be reported to Experian as delinquent. If payments are more than 120 days overdue, we reserve the right to refer your loan to our third-party collection partners. Once a loan has been charged off, the charge off status is irreversible.

Affirm has no record of receiving direct contact from *******************************. Upon origination of the loan, *********************************** electronically accepted/signed a Truth in Lending Agreement. To access your loan agreements online, visit ******************************************** and access your Affirm account. Once you are logged in, navigate to the Pay tab and select the desired loan. In the Loan Timeline section, select Loan Terms. This will open the Truth in Lending Disclosure for that particular loan. As stated in Affirm's Terms of Service which you agreed to upon account creation and every time he applied for a loan, specifically Section 1: Electronic Disclosures: "Your electronic signature on agreements and documents has the same effect as if you signed them in ink." More information on Affirm's Terms of Service can be found here: **************************************

On December 22, 2023, Affirm sent *********************************** a notification to inform him that the servicing and ownership of the loan had changed, as the loan has now been acquired by ******************************. This communication advised that ****************************** now owns your loan and may contact ******************************* either directly or through an affiliate or third-party servicer. For *******************-***************************************************************** can be reached at: **************.

With regard to ********************************* concerns about the credit reporting of the loan, as Affirm is no longer the owner of the loan, Affirm has taken steps to remove any credit reporting of the loan by Affirm. *********************************** should see this update on his end in 3-5 business days. The new account owner may report to any of the three credit bureaus.  ******************************* need to contact them for more information on how they report to credit bureaus.

In the event that *********************************** has any further questions, we encourage him to reach out to Affirm via ************************************************************

      Business Response

      Date: 06/08/2023

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to Ms. ******** BBB complaint. Affirm has reviewed Ms. ******** complaint, which states her concerns with submitting a payment towards her charged off loan.

Affirms records indicate that loan T51F-QVQ8 processed for $2,409.48 on December 7, 2021, for a purchase with *************. The agreed upon repayment terms of the loan are 12 installments of $199.65 at an APR of *****% and payment due on the 7th of each month. On September 5, 2022, the loan was charged off after having an overdue balance for 120 days.

Affirm encourages all customers to make payments on or before the scheduled due date. Affirm does not charge late fees, but late payments may impact the ability to take out future loans with Affirm. If payment is 30 or more days overdue some loans may be reported to Experian as delinquent. If payments are more than 120 days overdue, Affirm reserves the right to refer your loan to our third-party collection partners. Once a loan has been charged off, the charge off status is irreversible.

While Affirm does reserve the right to refer the loan to a third party collection partner, loan T51F-QVQ8 remains with Affirm for continued management. At this time, Affirm would like to clarify that loan T51F-QVQ8 will remain with Affirm. This is due to a cease and desist request that occurred on an outbound phone call placed on August 31, 2022. Affirm would like to apologize to ****************** for any confusion caused by previous interactions informing her that the loan would be transferred to a 3rd party debt collection partner.

Due to this, ****************** will need to call Affirm directly to submit her payments. Once the balance is paid in full, the loan will reflect as paid. However the history of charged off status will remain.

Affirms records do show that ****************** contacted Affirm by phone on May 25, 2023, and successfully submitted two payments of $100.00 each. In accordance with the industry standard, Affirm furnishes consumer repayment history to Experian in batches on a regular basis, which covers a specific period of time. As a result, based on Affirm's credit reporting cadence, consumers should allow ***** days for their credit reports to be updated.

Please note, Affirm has a regulatory obligation to furnish accurate loan and repayment information (positive or negative) to the credit bureau and can only update reporting if an inaccuracy is identified. At this time we have confirmed that all credit reporting is accurate and will have to respectfully decline Ms. ******** request to remove credit reporting for loan T51F-QVQ8.

Affirm hopes that this information is helpful. In the event that ****************** has any further questions or concerns, we encourage her to reach out directly via email.

I bought 3 cell phones through visible.com. One for myself and one each for my two children. They were financed by affirm. Affirm will not provide me any details about my account. I have sent payments by check via ** mail. Affirm has said they require an invasive identification process to provide electronic access to the account. In fact, they are not allowing me to speak with anyone in their own company that can access the account. I have banked for 30 years and have never had a financial institution suggest that I send them a passport copy. I do not trust this process whatsoever and do not trust that my documents will remain safe. I need someone at Affirm to tell me that my payments are applied correctly.

      Business Response

      Date: 06/08/2023

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to ***************************************** BBB complaint. Affirm has reviewed ***************************************** complaint, which states his concerns with Affirm's account recovery process.

Affirm's records indicate that ************************** has three active loans on his Affirm account. Loans *********, EKBN-PSZ1, and EN39-MFDA, all three loans processed with the merchant Visible on April 12, 2023.

On April 22, 2023, Affirm received phone contact from **************************, where he explained that he had been unable to log into his Affirm account to submit payment towards his Affirm loans. The Affirm agent that spoke with ************************** stated that he would need to complete Affirm's account recovery process in order to regain his account access, along with informing him he could expect email follow up in 3-5 business days. On April 23, 2023, Affirm sent ************************** an email which included a secure, single use link to submit the required documents in order to proceed with the account recovery process. On April 27, 2023, Affirm sent another email explaining that the request to recover the account was unsuccessful because Affirm did not receive a response to the additional information requested.

On May 2, 2023, Affirm sent ************************** another email, again containing a single use secure link to submit the required documents to recover his Affirm account. An additional email was sent on May 7, 2023, informing ************************** that he would need to complete the recovery process to access his account.

On May 14, 2023, ************************** followed up via email and requested Affirm's mailing address in order to send his payment via check. Affirm followed up the same day and provided ************************** with Affirm's mailing address as requested.

Upon the receipt of ***************************************** BBB complaint Affirm has investigated the issues he has encountered. Affirm found that loans M6VE-4GBW, EKBN-PSZ1, and EN39-MFDA had been marked as unauthorized in error. This is what prompted ***************************************** Affirm account to become locked and enrolled in the account recovery process. Affirm would like to sincerely apologize for any inconvenience or frustration caused by this error.

At this time, Affirm would like to confirm that ***************************************** account access has been restored and he should not encounter an issue with logging into his Affirm account to submit payment. Additionally, Affirm would like to confirm that loans M6VE-4GBW, EKBN-PSZ1, and EN39-MFDA do not include credit reporting, so ************************* will no see an impact to his credit score as a result of this situation.

Affirm did receive payments by check from Mr.  *********** on May 18, 2023, however, the check payments were not applied to the loans, as they were incorrectly marked as unauthorized at the time. To correct this, Affirm has proceeded with service crediting ***************************************** loans in the same amounts of his check payments. This step has brought the loans to a current status with the next payments being due on June 12 and 13, 2023.

Again, Affirm sincerely apologizes to ************************** for this issues encountered with his Affirm account and loans.

In the event that ************************** has any further questions or concerns, we encourage him to reach out directly via email.

On March 28 I made a purchase with affirm that was later canceled and they would not refund my money they said I still owe them regardless of the transaction falling through I am not giving them money for something I didnt get they are scamming company

      Business Response

      Date: 06/08/2023

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to **************** BBB complaint. Affirm has reviewed **************** complaint, which states her concerns with receiving a refund towards her purchase that was obtained with an Affirm loan.

Affirms records indicate that loan A7IB-ZM7L processed for $3,718.00 on March 28, 2023. The repayment terms of the loan are 12 installments of $288.31 at an APR of *****% and payment due on the 28th of each month. The loan required a down payment of $848.00 that was submitted on March 25, 2023. This payment has since had a chargeback filed against it, with the funds being returned to **************** financial institution.

It is important to note that Affirm strictly manages the financial portion of the transaction. All matters of returns, refunds, order fulfillment and cancellations are subject to the policies put in place by the merchant. When the merchant processes a refund towards a loan, Affirm will credit the loan balance for that amount.

Affirm received contact from ************** on April 20, 2023, where she explained that her purchase had been canceled without her being informed by the merchant. Affirm followed up on the same day and requested documentation for review to determine if a dispute could be opened on **************** behalf. Affirm received follow up from ************** on April 21, 2023. Affirm had also received documentation from ************** for review on April 19, 2023.

On June 2, 2023, Affirm sent ************** a secure message explaining that a review of the documentation provided had been completed and noted that the purchase did have a non-refundable policy in place. This communication explained that Affirm was unable to override the policies put in place by the merchant and encouraged ************** to work with the merchant directly regarding a refund.

However, upon the receipt of **************** BBB complaint her case was reviewed once again. On June 8, 2023, Affirm sent ************** a secure message and confirmed that the purchase is still within the window to open a dispute with Affirms payment processor. This communication explained that once opened, the dispute process can take up to 90 days to reach a resolution. The message also notes that additional evidence is often required in order to open this type of dispute. For that reason, ************** has been asked to supply any additional documentation she may have regarding the purchase and her outreach to the merchant (even if a response was not received.

Once Affirm has received the documentation, it will be determined if a dispute can be opened on **************** behalf.

Affirm would like apologize to ************** for any frustration or inconvenience caused by this process. At this time Affirm encourages ************** to follow up to the June 8, 2023, message sent to her with any relevant documentation she may have for Affirms review.

In the event that ************** has any further questions, we encourage her to reach out via email.

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to ************************ BBB complaint. Affirm has reviewed ************************ complaint, which states her concerns that Affirm loans were obtained in her name without authorization.
Affirms records indicate that there are three active loans on Ms. ********* Affirm account. Loans *********, L08B-9E86 and K2O1-MO5C. Affirm is yet to receive payment towards the loans and they are currently in an overdue status.

A case was forwarded to Affirms Account Safety team for investigation upon receiving Ms. ********* contact. Affirm also sent ******************** an email on May 8, 2023, informing her that the investigation process can take up to 30 days to be completed.

I took out a loan with Affirm in May of 2022 which uis now both paid off, I noticed some late payments on my report in which I take the financial responsibility of the late payments, however I was in a financial position during the time of those payments that resulted in a job loss between in September of 2022, I was also denied unemployment benefits in which I still have not received as of today, I was also evicted from my home, a lost my vehicle in which I was FORCED to have voluntarily repossessed in which I lived in after the eviction, I have no family or friends as I am estranged from all of them and also suffer from social anxiety which limits my ability to interact with others. I also suffer from PTSD, Manic-Depression, ADHD and Insomnia. I have been living on the streets, shelters, motels/hotels and sleeping in vacant buildings for almost a year now. I was forced to take a medical leave from my part-time job that I got in October 2022, however I was still not able to make ends meet and get by. My medical leave was up in March of 2023, I am working with a credit counselor/financial advisor, a housing liaison (Assisted housing is a on a waitlist for who knows long which still leaves me homeless) who is trying to get me into better housing in which is one of the reasons I need this Goodwill Request of the late payments on this account along with obtaining another vehicle of my choice. I am in understanding that all reporting to this credit bureaus are accurate indeed, however I did not choose to lose my jobs, become unemployed, homeless or without a vehicle. I do so much for everyone without asking for anything in return, in this case I am asking that you all help me achieve this Goodwill so that I can get a place, a car, retain my joy that I once had prior to this. Thank you for your attention and understanding.

      Business Response

      Date: 06/07/2023

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to Mr. ******* BBB complaint. Affirm has reviewed Mr. ******* complaint, which states his concern regarding the credit reporting for his Affirm loan.

Affirm records indicate that Mr. ******* Amazon loan P2FH-C8AC processed on April 26, 2022 in the amount of $87.86 with *****% APR. The agreed-upon repayment terms were for 6 monthly payments of $15.95 on the 26th of each month. The payment originally due on June 26, 2022 was not satisfied until September 9, 2022, making it more than 30 days overdue.

Please note, Affirm has a regulatory obligation to furnish accurate loan and repayment information (positive or negative) to the credit bureau and can only update reporting if an inaccuracy is identified. Furthermore, this was disclosed on Affirms Terms of Use and Privacy Policy as well as Mr. ******* Loan Agreement which he consented to and approved when he obtained Affirms loan. More information on Affirm's Terms of Service can be found here: **************************************

Affirm is currently reporting this loan as Paid to Experian with a history of delinquency. As a result of this investigation, Affirm has determined that we are reporting this loan accurately and we respectfully decline Mr. ******* request to adjust the reporting for this loan.

I am rejecting this response because while I understand that you are reported this is accurate to the credit bureau, I will continue to dispute this as I am trying to get a place to live and a vehicle. I was wrongfully terminated from my employment and I HAVE ALWAYS PAID ON TIME!!

      Sincerely,
