I am disputing inaccurate, incorrect, and misleading information contained in the pre-adverse notice received by Clipboard Health. Check r IS IN VIOLATION OF THE FAIR CREDIT REPORTING ACT ON CONSUMERS AND WHICH THEY REPORT OUTDATED OR NON-RELEVANT INFORMATION. THEY DO NOT GET PERMISSION FROM THE CONSUMER UNDER PERMISSIBLE PURPOSES. THEY ARE CONDUCTING SHADY BUSINESS PRACTICES BY REPORTING OUTDATED IRRELEVANT INFORMATION TO THE COMPANIES WHO SEEK TO DO BACKGROUND CHECKS. CHECKR INADVERTENTLY PICKS AND CHOOSES TO DISPLAY INCORRECT AND OUTDATED INFORMATION WITHOUT TAKING THE TIME VERIFY OLD DATA; THEY ARE IN BREACH OF COMMITTING DEFAMATION OF CHARACTER BY BEING LIBEL FOR PUBLISHING, PRINTING, EXPRESSING THROUGH WRITING FALSE STATEMENTS THAT ***** A PERSONS REPUTATION. I have been waiting on Checkr to complete a background check on me for **** since June 6, 2025. I have gotten multiple background checks in the past by Checkr and they never took more than 1 day to compete. Now all of a sudden, the background check has been pending for over a month. I have no felony or misdemeanor record. My MVR shows a ticket that I received under conspicuous circumstances that can be classified as a misdemeanor, but that was handled as a minor infraction on my MVR report because it never reported as a criminal conviction on the criminal portion of my background record. Recently, I had some really bad, vindictive people threaten me with the notion that I had a "misdemeanor". I believe **** and Checkr are working collaboratively with these people to force the minor infraction on my record to report as a criminal conviction. They may be contacting court officials to "stir the pot a bit" just to cause problems, instead of just leaving "well enough" alone. There is no other explanation for why something that usually only takes one day, is still pending 37 days later. The other issue worth mentioning is I requestedctgecreportvon june 6, 2025 and waited, made calls, and waited, and then all ogmf a sudden on June 30, 2025 **** canceled my report without reason or explanation, and neither **** nor Checkr even bothered to notify me of the cancellation. While most checks complete in 3 to 7 business days, some can take longer.
Oftentimes, DMV and the courts have delays and closures. Checkr reviews many databases and county records, and some county courts take longer than others to report data.

I applied for a job. The company hiring me used Checkr to do my background check. In this background check, they stated that I have a felony from 93'. If you look on the Winnebago County Courts website, you can see the case they referenced was a misdemeanor with a fine of $150. Nothing even close to a felony. This has put my job at risk due to their inaccuracy. Their review period can go from 30 to 45 days. This is unacceptable since I have already interviewed and this is the last step before hiring. I tried to get ahold of customer service. ******* John **** kept telling me its being reviewed and 30 days is the timeframe. I asked to escalate with no answer. About a month ago, I was fined for the temporary license plate of a vehicle I just bought. This license plate was legally issued by the dealer. I immediately submitted all the necessary documents to the court and the case was officially rejected. As of today, it has been over one week since I filed my complaint, and Checkr has not contacted me in any wayno emails, no calls, no resolution.
Furthermore, despite my legal case being dismissed over a month ago, my **** account remains suspended due to the incorrect background report Checkr provided. This is severely affecting my ability to work.
I kindly request that BBB continue to assist with this matter, as I have not received any communication or resolution from Checkr.

I am rejecting this response because: I've entered my correct and up to date residency information. Your platform doesn't allow change of address when as needed, only at the start of downloading the app, which is what I did. So my background check done for only one company was done up to 4 years ago and not up to date. Nobody responded to me after dispute via email due to the fact of not being allowed to dispute any other way. You need up to date information to do a background check. And that wasn't done and can't stay as is.

The company who contracts me to do work requested a background check through Checkr on 6/26. Immediately a majority of the report was completed and my motor vehicle report was fully completed and I was given an estimated completion date of 6/27 which it was no completed by. On 7/2 I received an updated estimated date of 7/1. This company has completed reports for me in the past in 1-3 days tops. I have no criminal record or anything that would need further investigation. The lack of transparency with this company really scares me since they have all my personal information and access to records I cant even access and they cant not even update me with where they are in the process or what the hold up is or anything. They have already cost me thousands of dollars dude to not being able to work for over a week with no information provided to me and no optional contact to get more information. I believe someone that is providing a service such as this should have to be more transparent with its customers and provide regular updates while they are in possession of a persons person identification information. Since there is no one to speak to I am worried about the validity of this company and if my information is getting passed out to whoever they please for whatever reason they please. I understand some things may take longer for whatever reason but to keep customers in the dark about the processes preventing them from working should be illegal.Business Response

In June 2025, I contracted with Checkr as an employer for a background check on a new prospective employee. I selected a $59.99 package and added a $35 employment check. After completing the check I was charged an additional $119.90. I assumed a simple billing mistake, but was told that Checkr had passed through 3rd party costs to me. In advertising their original service Checkr was disingenuous about their pricing and performed a "bait and switch" to get my business. I have asked what 3rd party fees they paid - but they have refused to disclose them. In short - I was conned.Business Response

My background check is coming back with something on it that should not be on there. I have now disputed it four times with checkr and every time I dispute it within five minutes I get an email saying its denied. First of all how does that even give them enough time to do investigation!? Second of all its not accurate and it should not be on there and they are refusing to help. Third of all I am being refused to speak to a supervisor a manager, and no one is helping to resolve my problem. I have been driving for DoorDash for 6+ years and now all of a sudden this thing is on my background report and its hindering my ability to work and this is my only source of income. They have froze my DoorDash account. It is locked because of checkr and Im unable to work and due to being unable to work also means Im unable to pay for my hotel that I pay for on a nightly basis so I have somewhere to sleep and also provides me with the ability to eat every day and I havent been able to work because of this so now I have nowhere to sleep and nothing to eat. And what do they say, oh, Ill follow up by email in which they never doBusiness Response
