- Advertising Review:On September 30, 2024, BBB requested Quest Legal Group to modify, substantiate, or discontinue claims made on their mailer that reads, "Civil Lawsuit Notice”, ”NOTIFICATION OF LAWSUIT & CIVIL COMPLAINT”, ”(2nd notice)”, ”...we are now reviewing your account for immediate legal action (filing a lawsuit) against you, of which would result in a civil court judgment…Civil judgements generally result in a wage garnishment and/or lien against your personal property or bank account…”, “...we have noted your case with fraudulent activity and with malicious intent to commit wire fraud.”, ”We further reserve the right to subpoena the following reference(s) listed on the original application as witnesses to testify against you…”, and "If your payment is not received by our office by your date, …our intent is to immediately have you served a court summons…to appear in court…for further action”. Advertisers must be prepared to substantiate such claims per BBB's Code of Advertising.
BBB's Code of Advertising Section 1 states, Advertisements should be truthful, sincere offers to sell. Advertisers have a responsibility to have substantiation for all claims made and should be able to provide that substantiation upon request. All advertising that may mislead or deceive consumers should be avoided. 1.2 Advertisements which are untrue, misleading, deceptive, fraudulent, falsely disparaging of competitors, or insincere offers to sell, shall not be used.
