7/8/2019 we purchased a 2011 Honda Odyssey from Poway Honda.Issue 1: April 2020, I was on HWY 80 and the van started violently shaking. Luckily I was close to *********** Honda and they informed me there had been an issue with the eco-mode function and the previous owner should have addressed it. The engine wound up getting replaced retail $4267 but Honda would "help us out" and it would only cost $2,131 (Claim ID *********. Having the vehicle 9 months, that should not have been our liability. Issue 2: (Honda Claim ********) When first viewing the vehicle on their lot 7/2019, it had several small chips in the paint where it looked like it had been peeling. The sales person said the pervious owner must have left it outside but they had it scheduled to be painted/fixed before purchasing. In January 2024 I noticed a couple of small chips on the hood and assumed it was from rocks. Shortly after more lifting in the paint, everywhere they had painted as well as along most of the edges. I have done much research and learned this is a common issue due to the defective paint on several models during this time. There has been a ***************** Bulletin for this issue, however I am getting nowhere in getting it properly fixed by Honda. USAA is now investigating the issues and assisting us in researching legal counsel.
