In purchased solar panels from Clean Iniative in June of 2021. At that time I was told that I would only have a small bill every month from SCE for some sort of fees that would roughly be $14 or $15 per month. Also, in discussing my needs with Clean Initiative, I advised them that I had plans to expand my home and add a hot tub. They advised me that I would be getting enough panels and if I ever needed one or two more they would supply them free of charge. And they also promised me a new electrical 200 amp panel as a free upgrade since my panel is an old 100amp. After my panels were installed I was told the upgrade wasnt done so I was left with my old (full to capacity because of the solar) electrical panel. Also, in September of 2022, I received a large bill fromSCE $597.28. When I reached out to Clean Initiative, they said it was because Im using more energy than the panels are producing and I need to BUY more panels. Now I am paying on average $65/month to SCE on top of the $87/month for the solar panels themselves. That is $152/month which is more than what I was paying before I got the panels. This complaint is in regard to the false statements about my monthly bill, promises and overall way that Clean Initiative has handled this. As I have already tried to resolve this issue with them directly and they have done nothing and were quite rude in the process. I would like for them to add more panels and provide the new 200amp electrical panel they promised. Or refund me a portion of my panels that would account for the extra money have spent and will need to upgrade my electrical panel.

We carefully sized the system to meet both the current and future
demands based on the historical usage data and anticipated growth.
Despite recent rainfalls and an increase in usage, we are pleased to
report that the installed system has been performing flawlessly without
any interruptions. We will be contacting the customer to discuss the
possibility of an electrical upgrade to the main system and explore
additional add-on services that we can offer.

I am rejecting this response because:

It doesnt not directly state that they will be upgrading my electrical panel free of charge or adding additional solar panels free of charge as originally promised. They say the system has been working flawlessly and they sized it based on future usage which is not true. My electric bill plus the cost of the solar panels is more than what I was paying before the panels were installed. This means I am using more energy than the panels are producing. This logically means the size of my system is not adequate. If they would like to rectify this issue without requiring me to pay additional out of pocket and clarify that in their response, then I will accept it.

    Sincerely,

    Hello,

We size systems according to previous ************************************************************** the future. The changes in energy usage, utility rates, cost of material and labor are completely unpredictable therefore no solar company can make such claims or promise more solar/work in the future for free as it is not a sustainable business model. Also, please refer to your home improvement contract which states the scope of work you signed for. We will be glad to add more solar and upgrade your main panel at cost to help and resolve this issue.

    thank you

I am rejecting this response because:

I have yet to hear what the cost would be for what the company is offering. Without knowing how much they plan to charge me, I cannot accept their response.

They issued a check on ******* for ********* from a frozen blocked account. I have been unsuccessfully trying since then to recoup my money. The *** referrer me to this company and made me deposit this refundable $1.000.00. Someone should be responsible for refunding the money. The fact they gave me a bad check has something to be said.
