      They close and don't accept calls before their closing time.... they have No explanation for the 100+% premium increase.... THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS!!!!

      I can't believe you all treat veterans the way you do... I am forced to find another provider, because I DID NOT get an inspector on the date that YOU provided? Unbelievable.... No class, no real customer service, just dropping customers rather than keeping them. That is an awful business model..

      I have been with Hippo home insurance for going on 4 yrs each year my premiums have went up considerably to them being more than doubled when I first signed up. My deductible have also increased In the 2nd year they suddenly decided wind and hail has its own deductible so its $4300 well in my area wind and hail is what will happen. My standard deductible for anything else is $2500 We recently had a bad thunderstorm that produced large hail. I filed a claim and the person they sent out to estimate the damage said there was only one bad spot where a few shingles blew off and he patched it. And so they said the estimate was just under my deductible. My neighbor has a contractor doing some work for her and he looked and said he could see the hail damage all over the rough from standing on the ground. Hes gonna write me an estimate. They also said since my roof was put on in 2007 it was only covered at 46% this company is the worst and I will be shopping for a new company. Shame on you Hippo you need to take care of your loyal customers or get out of the business

      I wish I'd known how terrible this company was earlier. Doubling my premium a year earlier for no reason. Then s******* me over after a fire "devaluing" the c*** out of everything I own...PLUS, why do they only have room for ONE NAME on the policy??? The mortgage company has BOTH names as JOINT owners. So at Hippo, if your name is listed second as the joint borrower of property then you're screwed and ALL correspondence is addressed to the 1st ****** listed. In a divorce when you don't even live together anymore this is total crap! The second ****** might as well be invisible and not even be considered a JOINT owner, in Hippo's eyes.

      This was a disappointing service. We lost access to our online account and a ********************** agent was not able to assist us. After a second attempt with another agent, we finally regained access. They "upgraded their system", rendering us unable to get to our account details.We are just now switching to another Home Insurance provider because Hippo decided covering our home was too high of a liability. This is terrible customer service. We had ********************************************* for about 4 years, and during that time we made two claims; one for water damage, and another for a similar, unrelated uncovering of damage under a bathroom area while retiling. The second claim was denied by Hippo. So, all in all - Hippo rendered us "uninsured" after 1 claim over a 4 year period. We paid all of our regular fees on time. **************** was very unprofessional at times when contacting them on the phone.Avoid them - you are much better off elsewhere.

      Avoid Hippo for home insurance. Impersonal and ineffective processes. Invoices disappear into oblivion, their preferred vendorsSedgwick, The ************* and Servpro should be avoided at all costs. I have spent 164 nights in a hotel trying to resolve how to rebuild my house post fire. 72% of this time is due to delay, deny, short-pay and ineffective practices. Desk adjusters dont answer their phones and it is impossible to speak to a supervisor. If you have HiPPO and a fire loss, get a public adjuster to represent you at the beginning of the process.

      The polices may be cheaper, but there is a reason for that. I have stuck with this company for 3 years for homeowners insurance and the entire 3 years has been nothing short of a back and forth between myself and "support". They cannot seem to keep your information correct, no matter how many times you contact them. This goes for payment methods, causing days of draining phone calls and lapses in coverage. It will even include your address. Everyone you speak to will tell you something different. I have even had my lender on phone calls with myself and this company to try to make sense of their methods to no avail. I just truly hope I never have to put in a claim if these are the problems I've had so far. Save yourself and pay a little more elsewhere.

      How can you be a California insurance based in ********* and refuse customers in **********. I live just up North SF and had Hippo for a few years( never had one claim).. and this year they would not reconduct my contract saying I live in a moderate fire area. Ridiculous!

      The company dropped us after a year of service with 3 weeks notification prior to our policy ending. After telling us that they could no longer provide coverage in our area they continued to charge us 2 years worth of policy. When I called to find out why, their rude customer service representative, instead of being helpful, stated there was no documentation of cancelation. How could a policy not be cancelled if you no longer provide service in the area. At the end I asked what my next steps were and the response was "well that's a good question" (with degrading attitude). I wouldn't recommend this company and my customer service experience was horrible.

      Hippo Insurance is an absolute SCAM. Do not try to save money on your monthly cost by using them they will not cover anything when you need them and file a claim.
