    I just realized that I have been charged $29.17 per month since 04/22/2025 for a service that I have never used. I have no idea how checkpeople.com ever got my billing information but it needs to stop immediately. Since 04/22/2025, they have charged me a total of $204.19 and I would like for them to refund this amount ASAP.**** ******

    CheckPeople.com is an easy-to-use website that allows you to find people by their first and last names or by phone number. Unlike other people-search websites, we offer you unlimited searches.

    Please be advised, our billing terms are explained before submitting your payment option in the terms and conditions. If our members do not cancel the account before the trial period ends, their subscription renews each month. In order to cancel the account, they must contact CheckPeople.com via email or by calling our *************************** at **************.

    We have located an account and noticed it was made on 04/19/2025.

    After reviewing your account, I have confirmed that you have been refunded for the month of September.

    I have issued an additional refund for the months of August through April.

    The total refund amount is $176.02. Please allow 3-5 business days for the refund to reflect.

    This website is displaying information about me and I tried to go through their "opt out" steps on their website, only to be told there's no matching records for my name and DOB. And this is in spite of the fact that the site is showing information about me and is requesting money to access the information. The site also implies criminal or embarrassing information by liberally using the word "may," all of which are patently false. The opt out appears to be another way to obtain information about people while not providing the means of removing information, as required by Texas and US laws.

    Ordered a report for what was supposed to be a dollar. They charged my card $29.16. Now I can't get a in touch with anyone to cancel what seems to be a subscription. ****. DONT USE THIS SITE.

    The $29.17 transaction you were seeing started as a pending pre-authorization hold. This transaction will appear as "pending" on your bank statement for the duration of your 5-day trial period.

    If you cancel your account within your trial period, the $29.17 transaction will automatically be waived from your bank statement and you will only be charged the $1.00 trial fee. 

    If your account is not cancelled within your trial period, the $29.17 transaction will be officially charged to your bank account, leaving you to pay both the $1.00 and $29.17.

    This company touts itself as a provider of publicly available information. They claim to charge for the service of accessing public data about individuals, but when I ran a test on my own name they left out critical information and had false information about me. They charged me two separate amounts while going through their portal, totaling 7.95. I was unable to cancel the service through their website, so I reached out the same day via email, as I was disappointed with their services. They issued me a refund, but charged me again the next day and have claimed that the charge was non-refundable. I had to place a stop order through my bank, because they felt comfortable charging to an account they said in writing was cancelled. Their $1 form led to two additional $6.95 charges for a *********** I had declined in my browser. Their email states I had accepted this separate recurring charge, and even implied that I was receiving some kind of "special deal" that i did not wish for. Evil sales tactics, avoid this "service" if possible

    When it was time to pay it said it was only $1.00. Then I get charged $22.56. False advertisement

    Please note that the transaction you witnessed is a pre-authorization hold. By proceeding through the checkout process, you consented to terms indicating automatic enrollment in our monthly membership if not canceled before the trial period expires. As a result, a pre-authorization hold of $22.56 was placed on your account at that time.

    After reviewing your account, it appears it has already been cancelled as of 7/22/2025 by our phone representative, and reconfirmed as cancelled on 7/23/2025 by our email support team. 

    Please rest assured that your account is now cancelled. At the time of cancellation, the pre-authorization hold of $22.56 is voided. Please allow 3-5 business days for the hold to waive from your account. Additionally, your access to unlimited searches and reports will be available until 7/24/2025. You will still incur a charge for the $1.00 trial period.

    I have attempted several times, on different devices, to "opt out" and have my personal data removed from their database. Each time I get an "access denied message" and a link to Cloudfare which also shows an error landing page. I used different devices and browsers as well as wifi and mobile connection across different days and keep getting this same message. Delete my data!

    I was misled by the trial offer and received a full charge for the subscription before I could cancel it. There was no option to cancel the subscription myself and customer service agents are unavailable on weekends. I am unable to dispute the charge with ******.

    I have contacted this party several times since July of 2024 requesting deletion of record. ******* has been returned ***. A search on www.checkpeople.com links to *********************** indicating they are the same company. I would like this party to delete all records noted in the attached letter and to cease processing of all personal data in the future. Attached is a notice requesting deletion with names, specific addresses. I would like them to delete and cease processing all personal records.
