1 starIm active duty military, but more importantly Im just a regular person trying to handle my finances the right way. I entered into a contract with this company that included a 30-day promotional buyout offer for $1,710. Within that period, I attempted to pay the full amount using multiple cards. $1,300 was successfully processed, and the rest was not even though I received confirmation emails saying my payments were in the books including a reference number and timestamp.Later, I was told one of those payments was never actually processed and that those emails dont mean a payment was accepted, just that one was attempted. Thats incredibly misleading, especially when there was no follow-up, no alert that something failed, only congratulating for making payments and they had been processed, and no response to any of my emails asking for clarification at the time. Had they responded, I couldve resolved the issue before the promo window **********, theyre refusing to honor the original terms and are asking me to pay $2,500 more on top of the $1,300 already taken even though I did everything I could to meet the buyout terms in good faith. When I tried to speak with someone about this, I was met with cold, dismissive answers, as if there was nothing more to discuss.I dont have legal resources or a team of lawyers Im just a regular person like you trying to do the right thing. But the system is set up in a way where large companies can bully people even when the customer tried to play by the rules. I take responsibility for my part, but I also expect transparency and basic fairness. I didnt get either here.If youre considering using this lender, I strongly recommend against.Review fromTimothy H

1 starI signed up for a monthly payment for my daughters medical supplies. The amount I agreed to was 46 dollars. They sent an email and letter stating this is what my monthly payment would be. I was charged 374 dollars this month. This was very unexpected. I am not sure how they even processed this amount. I dont have anything stating that I agreed to being charged this much money. Monterey Financial received **** ********' BBB complaint on July 1, 2025. Monterey is servicing this account, which is owned by *********. Ms. ******** entered into this agreement on May 20, 2024, which was subsequently placed with Monterey Financial for servicing. This agreement stipulated 46 monthly payments of $46.87, totaling $1,880.22. Her first payment was due on November 1, 2024; however, the account became 188 days past due. Monterey received a payment via our website portal on ************************************************ for her past due amount on May 8, 2025, in the amount of $374.96, which included the June payment as well and made her next payment due July 1, 2025. In the process of setting up her payment on the website, she set up the auto draft with a special amount of $374.96 to be drafted on every first of the month starting July 1, *******. ******** called our office on July 2, 2025, and expressed to us her dissatisfaction with the special amount drafting. We explained to her that was the amount she authorized, but we offered a solution and fixed the monthly draft amount to her regular payment amount of $46.87. Monterey Financial also agreed to refund her the excess payment back to her **** card and set the expectation for up to ***** business days for the refund. 1 star******* sends you over to them for them to collect payment they take a 500 dollar purchase and double it make it 1100. They are money hungry scammers.Monterey Financial Services LLC

Monterey Financial received Mr. ***** ********* complaint on June 19, 2025. Monterey is servicing this account, which is owned by *******. Mr. ******* entered into this contract with ******* on March 10, 2025, which was subsequently placed with Monterey Financial for Servicing. The agreement stipulated 12 monthly payments of $95.33 and a final residual payment of $81.69, totaling $1,225.65. As per the terms and conditions, a 30-day satisfaction guarantee was provided, allowing him to pay the amount financed ($544.63) if paid by April 10, 2025. This option was not exercised. Per Mr. ******** terms and conditions, he has an early purchase option available for $725.17, valid until July 8, 2025. It is important to note that throughout the contract agreement process, *******'s website consistently indicated this as a lease-to-buy ************. Bagwell's account became delinquent with his first payment in April, and his May payment was also rejected on the due date. While these payments were subsequently recovered, his June monthly payment was again rejected. At this point, Mr. ******* contacted us expressing dissatisfaction regarding his understanding of the contract. We are committed to assisting him in reducing his financial obligation through the early payoff option. Should he chose to not take advantage of this option by July 8, 2025, a new quote will be necessary for the following month, as the amount is subject to monthly leasing fees, and reliant on timely monthly payments.
