This company! GRRRRR!!!!! Was not sure how things operated, spoke with an employee on chat and explained I wanted my items returned if they were not listed. they sent me a bag, I filled it with name brand items, including a Coach purse. The coach purse was deemed unsellable (was told UV lite revealed stains, it was practically new) along with a few other items. They refuse to return my items, they say (they say) I didn't send the correct bag to have my items returned. I went back and forth-back and forth with them. It ended up they gave me a $30 credit for three clothing pieces in excellent condition and a leather Coach purse the was hardly used and in near excellent condition!!On top of this awful experience, two items I ordered prior to sending in my items, had holes - many holes, two separate orders - one shirt had five holes, the other three and the listing description read (not verbatim) "slight fabric wear, like new". How 'bout that? They're a rip off, legally stealing. Where's my Coach purse? Huh? Where is it? One of my items sold for like $20 or something. My share was around $1.20. ***********, unreal. Oh, and you pay to ship, you pay to have items returned and on and on and on. Legal stealing! I've since discovered that this company is a publicly traded company, meaning it is owned by its shareholders. The company's co-founder and CEO is ***** ********. While the company is not owned by ***********, a significant portion of its shares are held by institutional investors, with *************************************** being a major shareholder. '******.Please, BBB, add "0" stars as an option.

This is a terrible company. They have no customer service number so you can't talk to a human. The sell torrid clothing at a premium because they have a business deal with the corporation. They sell them for new prices and discount better brands of the customers that send their items. I sent over 60 items many new with tags over 3 large bags full and made a grand total of ***** dollars. This company is a scam.

I regret using ThredUp and strongly caution anyone considering it. What seems like a sustainable resale option quickly revealed itself as a profit-driven system with little regard for fairness or transparency. I paid $7.49 for a Clean Out Bag (discounted rate) and sent nearly 30 pounds of high-quality, brand-name clothing in excellent condition. Of the 33 items I shipped, only 15 were listed. A shocking 23 items were marked "ineligible for earnings, and a few were claimed to be never received. When I contacted customer service, I was told the unlisted items wouldnt generate enough profit and were instead recycled or reused. But theres zero transparency on what that actually means or where the items go. I asked if I could have those items back and they told me that I should have paid for the $25 premium bag for reclaim options. Of the few items listed, three earned insulting payouts: $0.18, $0.25, and $0.36. Even if sold and not returned, my total earnings would be just $0.86 less than the gas it took to drop the bag off at **** ~~~ITEMS CAN SIT IDLE IN SOMEONE'S CART, BLOCKING POTENTIAL BUYERS AND DELAYING ANY PAYOUT~~~The payout structure is equally frustrating. If a buyer returns an item, you earn nothing.Reclaiming items is expensive $5.99 per item plus $11 shipping, unless you paid $25 upfront for a premium bag (which still includes fees per item).Customer service promises ******* response times, yet I waited days for unhelpful replies. While the **** tried to be polite, the system itself is flawed and unfair. After all fees, Im looking at a potential payout of around $10 for 33 items minus the $7.49 I paid to participate. You do the math. This process felt like a waste of time, money, and trust. I wont be using ThredUp again, and I recommend researching thoroughly before sending them anything. Its marketed as a convenient way to clean out your closet but for many, it may end up costing more than its worth.

Rip off??Sent 20 items. They listed 3 items that my payout would have been less than 8 dollars. I was informed that 17 items would be recycled...Three items were ***. ThredUp demands $5.99 for the return of each item. They obviously abscond with seller's items and sell them to resale shops or online resale. I'm looking to see if there are any class action lawsuits being created. I'd love to get involved with that. Lots of women would. Would give -100 for rating??

How do they have an A+ rating with the number of low customer reviews. I sent in several high end new items to be sold for next to nothing and charged exorbitant fees leaving me with nothing. They then disappeared as if I had never sent them anything from my portal. Basically their business model is to trick people into selling with them, steal their items, and sell for cheap. As a buyer I even liked them as a seller I feel absolutely stolen from and scammed. I have read countless other reviews saying the same. This business is a complete scam.

I dont know how this is rated A+. They essentially steal your stuff. They make it almost impossible to track your sales and deliveries. Payouts are shady. I had a non returnable item sell and they said I still had to wait to weeks for payout because they had to make it fair to other sales? Got paid out for two of the items delivered the same day but not the expensive one. Still waiting for that. And you can only chat with terrible customer service bots. If theyre people then service is even worse. I want to check something out as a person not logged in but Im too worried that if I log out it wont log me back in and Ill lose everything. Also I sent in brand new items never worn with tags that they said had some wear and use. It may not be a scam but they are shady. **** even buy from them now. Told everyone I know to stay away.

******** buying and selling experience. Zero stars! What a waste of money, time, and my great condition vintage pants and jeans, thinking I could make some money selling them here. But out of 15 items only 6 were eligible to be sold and the rest I have no idea where they truly went or if they just sold them and pocketed my money. Also, I only made $14 bucks. Really? I despise this company and wish I would have read these reviews first.

From a buyer's standpoint, my experiences have been pretty good. Only choosing items of "Excellent" or "Like New" condition, I have gotten some really great things and a few times have gotten things with defects. In the case of defects, my issues have been resolved quickly in the way of refunds or credits. From a seller's standpoint, my experience has been negative. My most high-end item, a like-new sweater by Free People (which is a brand that they specifically ask for), was not included in my listed items. When I asked customer support about it they said that the sweater was not received. I know for a fact that it was included in the bag. Funny enough, the customer service agent asked me for a link of the item and the first thing that came up when doing a ****** search for it was a Poshmark link, for that same exact sweater, in the same color and size, published between the dates of when my bag was received by ThredUp and when my items were listed. Is this just a coincidence? Similarly, when I asked about a like new pair of heels that I included, they said that they were donated because they had a defect or too much use. Fishy as they were in like new condition. Additionally, I had checked the ineligible payout brand list before sending in my items and my brands, most specifically MNG and Knockaround, were not on there, however, now they are and my items are listed as 'ineligible for payout'. I should note that the support agent did offer me $20 for the missing sweater and a refund of the bag fee for the shoes, however, this will still be my first and last time selling, especially higher-end items, with ThredUp. Seeing these kinds of things happen to sellers also turns me off as a buyer.

I would give ZERO STARS if I could. I sent one bag in full of nice clothes and a designer crossbody bag. I knew I didnt have a lot but when looking at what was sold of mine and what they were selling it for and what I was going to make out of it. I see right now I want get a dime probably, because they charge a fee of like $32 for processing. I should have just gave it to a womans shelter. You live and learn. Highly dont recommend selling with them.
