The offices are attempting to raise rent for tenants right now stating Capital improvements for replacing the roof when the roof needed to be replaced because it was causing severe leakage into top floor apartments. Also, the petition listed 30 days to respond from the date listed on the packet that was sent to tenants, but the date that they actually chose to claim was the date we received the petition to the ******* ***********************, was wrong because they sent a whole packet that didn't actually have the petition in it, it just listed how much the repairs to the building and the roof replacement costed and listed all of the names of the tenants with their addresses and phone numbers, but the actual packet wasn't received until October 15th a couple weeks later. When I kept asking questions about what the date they are basing this on they just gave me some confusing information saying that it was legally determined and they couldn't tell me except that it was 30 days or 35 if received my mail from the date the petition was received but that was the wrong date. They ended up postponing the hearing because of the complaints I made to them about it not being accessible, and also as a non-binary person being misgendered by them and then being told I was calling them names when I called it out as cissexist. I was actually publicly shamed by the legal representative during the hearing from which they announced the postponement of the official hearing to make the decision until a future date. Now I'm attempting to send the paperwork in again, and initially were told we could do it by email when serving the petitioner, but now I'm told we have to do it in person or by mail, and we went by their offices which are closed and it's the only address listed. We wanted to do this in person to absolutely make sure they received it, and if there were any errors we would have time to correct it. There's still a few days left until it's due, but they are over the weekend.
