I went to the ********************* of Vehicles website to transfer the title for a used car I bought online. The online transfer button took me to a website called NeedTags.com, but since I was linked there from the *** I thought it was a legit *** process.I agreed to a total payment of $280.47 for registration fees, taxes, and even a processing fee. There was not mention of any other fees.I sent my paperwork to the address provided which was the NeedTags business office. A few days later I received an email with a receipt for payment, and in addition to the $280.47 charge to my debit card, there was a second charge of $149 in "service fees". I had no intent of paying a service fee to register the title in my name. I could have just driven to a *** office or even an AAA office and done this in person and avoided the fee. This company has no right to collect a $149 service fee that I did not agree to.I need to get a refund for the $149 immediately. There are many other complaints here for from other people for the same reason. There needs to be CLEARLY stated notice of the $149 fee on the *** site and the NeedTags site. I am a fairly technical person, online all the time, I don't easily overlook things like this, any $149 fee, if stated, must have been hidden somewhere in the fine print. This is unaccceptable.
