Coursera has extremely unclear policies and procedures as well as conflicting information on their *************** application.they have very limited and unreliable customer service that makes little effort to resolve issues. I believe this is intentional. They misguide individuals into believing that Coursera is offering them an opportunity of a lifetime, and it isn't until you invest a serious amount of effort, time, and work that you discover that you're required to purchase a subscription in order to receive credit, They use different terminology for example... Specifications require applying for each course individually" in regards to financial aid. But, the course will be called a Professional Certification Program. They fail to inform you that Professional Certification is "basically the same thing." They are purposefully tricking people into investing their life into something so they feel more compelled to spend once their aware that it's required in order to receive credit. I have been documenting information regarding all of these allegations. If you feel as if Coursea has victimized you like they have me, please reach out as I intend to pursue legal action against them. Do not fall for this disgraceful platform that feeds off of targeting the less poor and less fourtinate. And, ***: if approved for financial aid, the cost of Coursera + is actually cheaper then paying the reduced cost of each class in a certification program.. again.. misguiding people into believing they're receiving a benefit, when in reality, they're actually paying more for less then the original subscription cost.

Coursera/IBM Data Engineering curriculum seems to be 100% SCAM.I took the Coursera *** Data Engineering curriculum to obtain the certificate. I successfully completed all 13 courses diligently, received all 13 individual course certificates of completion, some with "honors," taking it all as a legitimate opportunity for career change and advancement. After all was done, they never gave me my final Certificate for overall completion of the program. I emailed several times through their system. After some back and forth, the most legitimate answer I got was along the lines of "this is a known issue and we are trying to solve it. We should be able to get back to you... blah blah." Had to stop my subscription of $50/month because I was done with the courses, and it's not surprising that they haven't gotten back to me at all- no final Certificate. I finished the coursework late Summer 2023. I'm writing this in May ********% SCAM. Learned my ******* never again will I do anything through Coursera.

I activated a Coursera Plus subscription and I clicked to get my earned certificate and it SAVED my credit card info to pay for the purchase of a Specialization certificate that is INCLUDED in Coursera Plus. Basically I was charged twice for the same service (certificate). I believe this was caused by a technical bug but their policy wont allow them to give me my money back that they essentially stole from me. Otherwise I enjoy the learning they offer but just unfortunate they have this technical bug that stills your money.

Canceled my subscription before the 7 days, and they are still attempting to take $60 from my account. I reached out via the chat within the app and got all AI generated responses. It confirms my subscription cancelation and tells me that the engineering department is aware of my issue and I shouldn't have to worry about taking anything again. Today was my second day contacting them about it

This scam company just stole $50 from me. I canceled my membership on June 11, 2024. Apparently, canceling your membership doesn't mean your certificate charges are canceled as well. Hidden charges. *************.

I am very frustrated with this company. I signed up for an online course. I completed many hours of the course, all online. Then the final exam was expected to be completed on different software. That software in not compatible with my computer. So I went to their website to look for help. There is no phone number ANYWHERE, there is no chat option... they just keep sending you back to links of troubleshooting tips. Even when I submitted a ticket (their only option to request help) they just replied with links. This is unacceptable. They literally have NO CUSTOMER SERVICE at all.

I recently completed the ****** Cybersecurity Professional Certificate Course with Coursera. I started the free trial on October 15, 2024, and completed the course on October 21, 2024. Which was all within the free trial timeframe. I was informed by the end of the course that I should have been receiving my certificate within a week. Long behold it has been way past a week, and I never received my certificate. I proceed to go onto ************************** just to make sure it was nothing on my end. Just to come and see that I need to pay a 49$ subscription fee to unlock my certificate. It was not stated prior that I needed to remain subscribed after my free trial ended in order to get my certificate. I believe this to be extremely misleading. Considering I completed the course during the free trial period, I expected to receive my certificate without additional charges. It's concerning that I was not informed of this requirement at the time of cancellation. This just completely cancels out the idea of a free trial, if my certificate is going to be locked behind a 49$ subscription fee. I reached out to support, and they informed me that they were going to get me in contact with a human representative and I never heard back from them. Instead, they decided to just close out the ticket regarding the matter at hand. I hope this information helps everyone else before deciding to take a course through Coursera!
